"Director's Rut"
Luan directs the Drama Club for a play she herself wrote, but she lacks the confidence to direct them the way she wants and has Mr. Coconuts do so instead.- Day in the Limelight: For Luan.
- Extreme Doormat: Despite being the director for her own play, Luan lets the other students in the drama club to make changes to the play because she's too afraid to tell them no.
- Pie in the Face: Mr. Coconuts does this to Liberty when the latter tries adding another chance to the play.
- Prima Donna Director: Mr. Coconuts when Luan makes him the director to stop the actors from changing the play.
- Shout-Out: Spencer mentions having once been involved in a high school production of A Meat Cart Named Desire, complete with getting on his knees and screaming, "RELIIIIIIISH!!!!"
"Friday Night Fights"
- Awesome, but Impractical: Lisa trades all of Lynn's teammates, as well as the mascot, believing that they will win statistically with these changes. But in practice, these changes have completely hindered the overall performance of the team, as the wide receiver fails to catch the ball, the defense doesn't aid Lynn, and the team refuses to stand up for Lynn as she taunts the rival team. Lynn's team loses 63-0.
- Day in the Limelight: For Lynn and Lisa.
- Drowning My Sorrows: Lisa does the G-rated version of this with soda after her team's crushing defeat.
- The Faceless: Wide Receiver 1, whose face is never seen due to how tall she is.
- Gasshole: After eating a plate of chili cheese fries, Lynn burps loudly into one of her new teammates' faces, making her faint from the gas cloud (at least she sheepishly apologizes for it).
- Heroic BSoD: Lisa goes into one when all her analytics fail to help Lynn and her team win any games.
- No Name Given: Wide Receiver 1. Also lampshaded.
Lynn: Uh, does she have a name?
Lisa: I am sure she does, but 'Wide Receiver 1' will be just fine.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Lynn is so upset about losing the football game that she doesn't notice that the twins are stealing her food, and isn't hungry for Mr. Loud's cooking.
- Shout-Out: The title refers to Friday Night Lights.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Lynn does this with Lisa after the team loses 63-0.
