Original air date: 4/2/2023 (produced in 2022) note

Production code: 206b

After Molly convinces Andrea to join coding club, she makes an app that allows people in Brighton to order anything they want from her family business. However, the app becomes successful to the point that small businesses are shutting down because they can't keep up, so Molly has to try to save Brighton's economy from the chaos she's accidentally caused.

Tropes:

  • Added Alliterative Appeal: In the names Davenport's on Demand and Brighton at your Behest.
  • Brick Joke: When Andrea deletes the code that keeps the Davenport's On Demand app running, it gets replaced with the angry kitten from the app Molly was making earlier in the episode.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: Molly wanted to tell Andrea that her app is causing small businesses to shut down, but she couldn't do it after seeing her so happy and Andrea thanking her for getting her into coding. When Andrea finally learns about the harm her app is causing, she asks Molly why she didn't tell her this sooner. This causes all the small business owners to glare at Molly angrily.
  • Death Glare: When Molly is outed as the one who inspired Andrea to develop the Davenport's on Demand app and she didn't tell Andrea her app is causing small businesses to shut down, the small business owners don't hesitate to shoot glances at the nervous girl who tried enhappifying Brighton. When Molly says she and the small business owners are going to help Andrea get her laptop from her father, the owners glare at her again for trying to get them to fix the mess she created, so she retracts what she said and meant she'll help Andrea get her laptop back.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Once Andrea is actually aware that her app caused a lot of small businesses to close down, she didn't hesitate to shut down the app.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The code for Andrea's app contains briefly-readable gags like "this)is[n0t[r34l.c0d/ng.atl".note
  • Giver of Lame Names: Molly's solution to compete with "Davenport's on Demand" is a program called "Brighton at your Behest". Scratch lampshades that she needed to workshop that name more.
  • Ironic Echo: After Molly is proud of Andrea for launching her new app, Molly proudly tells herself "You did that, Molly McGee. You did that". However, after learning Andrea's new app is hurting local businesses, Andrea thanks Molly for getting her into coding and tells her "Without you, none of this would have been possible. You, Molly McGee. You did this", making Molly feel even more guilty for causing this predicament.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Molly and Andrea both have this reaction after seeing the damage Andrea's app has done, since Molly was the one who convinced Andrea to make her app and Andrea failed to notice the repercussions until she saw the local shopkeepers protesting.
  • New Media Are Evil: Andrea develops an app for consumers to directly order products from Davenport's. Unfortunately, this massive rise in convenience completely undercuts all possible competition in Brighton, driving every other store in town out of business.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: After Andrea finds out that her app caused a lot of small shops to shut down, she asked Molly why didn't she tell her sooner causing the business owners to glare at her since Molly was the one who inspired Andrea to create the app. Luckily, Molly and Andrea were able to work together to shut down Davenport's on Demand.
  • Oh, Crap!: Molly has this after Andrea asked her why she didn't tell her about the trouble the app was causing.
  • The Social Darwinist: Mr. Davenport tells Andrea outright that them stealing business away from everyone else in Brighton is okay because "big fish" eating "smaller fish" is "nature's way". To make a point of this, in the Bizmart building where there's an aquarium inside, a big fish is seen eating a small fish, symbolizing how Bizmart plans to hurt the small businesses in Brighton in the future.
  • The Stinger: At the end of the episode, it cuts to a man at the headquarters of "Bizmart" reading about the financial success that's happening in Brighton and saying he sees the town as a promising location for their next mega store. Behind him is an aquarium which consists of two big fishes eating some smaller fishes, symbolizing that Bizmart is yet another threat to Brighton's small business community, possibly including Davenport's.
  • Surprisingly Realistic Outcome: Molly tries to do deliveries for all the shopkeepers with her small wagon so they can compete with Davenport's On Demand. She soon learns it's exhausting work pulling her wagon everywhere, and she becomes worn out to the point she ends up accidentally mixing up people's orders.
Scratch: What do you know? It takes more than a rusty wagon and hope to keep a local economy afloat.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: All the small businesses in Brighton nearly got shut down thanks to Molly getting Andrea into coding where she created an app that made it difficult for those businesses to keep up with Davenport's. And thanks to the financial success of Andrea's app, it got the attention of Bizmart who sees Brighton as the next location to put their new mega store, which will endanger the small businesses again and possibly Davenport's.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: When Andrea finds out her app is putting stores out of business and reveals Molly to have been responsible for inspiring her to make the app, everybody scowls at Molly. Andrea also sounded hurt that Molly didn't tell her this despite saying she's her best friend.
  • Your Approval Fills Me with Shame: Andrea thanks Molly for inspiring her to make the app, unaware of just how horrified Molly is since the app is taking the town's economy.
