Lan Sizhui and Wen Ning run into Jin Ling and Jiang Cheng while night-hunting and have conflicting opinions about how to get rid of a fierce corpse.
- Adaptational Wimp: Played for Laughs, given the gag nature of this series. The Soul-eating Peri is a completely imposing threat in canon, to the point that Wei Wuxian has to summon Wen Ning to deal with it when the other cultivators can't subdue it. Here, it gets smacked around by a couple of mundane whips and Magic Music from the adults.
- Butt-Monkey: The Soul-eating Peri gets its ass kicked left and right by all of the adults without much effort. Even Lan Sizhui comments that how pitiful the statue is.
- Continuity Nod: Jiang Cheng receives a blow to the head by accident and gets a nasty bump, which is also what happened to him two episodes ago thanks to Jin Ling.
- Death Glare: Jiang Cheng gives Wen Ning a fierce glare after the latter accidentally hits him on the head with his chains.
- Late-Arrival Spoiler: Lan Sizhui and Wen Ning teaming up is a reference to the later stages of the original story where the two form a bond. Any viewers who haven't finished the main Animated Adaptation nor the novel yet will either be confused or prematurely figure out the significance of their relationship.
- Lightning Glare: The two teens glare at each other with lightning cracking in the background while arguing over how to deal with a fierce corpse.
- Mythology Gag: The Soul-eating Peri, the first creature the protagonists have to fight in the original story (known as the Heavenly Maiden in the official novel translation), makes an appearance in this episode to trouble the group.
- Suddenly Voiced: As a statue, the Soul-eating Peri is unable to make any sound in the original story. In this episode, however, it grunts and yelps with a woman's voice.
