Tropes present in this episode:

  • Call-Back: Bo and Luke use the Ultralights previously seen in the episode "Daisy's Shotgun Wedding" to search for the hijackers once they realize that the thieves are probably using a helicopter as a part of their scheme.
  • Clear My Name: The Dukes escape from jail so they can find the real crooks, thinking that that's the only way they can get out of what they think is Boss framing them for an armored truck robbery. But unbeknownst to them, Boss wants them to escape and find the real crooks.
  • Disaster Dominoes: Mentioned in the opening narration.
You ever play dominoes? Like, when one thing goes it knocks over everything else? Well it happens in Hazzard too. Watch.
  • Gambit Pileup: After Bo and Luke break out of jail they head back to town, figuring on following Boss to where (they believe) he has hidden the money he stole from himself for the insurance. But Boss is actually following the Dukes, thinking that their Clear My Name plan will lead him to the real thieves. So Bo and Luke plan to follow Boss who is following them.
  • Genre Savvy: Boss realizes that Rosco can't find and arrest the armored truck thieves, and that Bo and Luke always can do that sort of thing. So he arranges for them to go searching for the theives by setting up a Clear My Name gambit for the Dukes to fall into.
  • Nobody Here but Us Birds: When Rosco makes some noise to draw out the robbers from their hideout he makes a noise that he claims sounds like "a really big cat." One of the robbers pulls out a gun to investigate.
Waylon Jennings: See that gun? Now that feller really hates cats.
  • Not Me This Time: Bo and Luke think that Boss has stolen the money from himself for the insurance and is trying to pin it on them. However, Boss's money was really stolen by some out of town thieves and he had cheaped out by not insuring the armored truck carrying the money.
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: Boss and Rosco follow Bo and Luke by dressing as average people instead of their usual outfits. But they add a pair of Groucho Glasses (Boss) and buck teeth (Rosco).
  • The Reveal: That the person piloting the helicopter and leading the gang of thieves is (gasp!) a woman.
Waylon Jennings: You know, I thought that feller had an awfully high voice.
  • Rockstar Parking: The General Lee is parked right in front of the Hazzard County Jail so that when Bo and Luke escape the can run right up to it and jump in.
  • Shirtless Scene: Bo and Luke work shirtless while loading Jesse's pickup truck with fence-mending gear.
  • Steal the Surroundings: Hijackers stop an armored truck filled with $3 million in cash. Instead of emptying the truck while on the road, they just haul the whole truck away by lifting it up by helicopter. they steal two more armored trucks the same way.
  • Tricked into Escaping: When Boss realizes (A) The Dukes didn't steal his armored truck full of money and (B) Rosco and Enos never did arrest anyone without the Dukes' help, he decides that, instead of releasing the Dukes when it's clear that they didn't pull the heist, he'll let them escape so they can clear themselves and by extension find the real crooks.
  • Trip Trap: Used against the baddies during the final fight. When they come running out of their hideout, the Dukes have rigged up a tripwire outside the door so they'll fall down.
