Mr. Curry and Paddington’s favorite radio show is canceled, and Mr. Curry is sad that he’ll never know how it ends.

Tropes:

  • Answer Cut: Since Paddington can’t play the dragon because he’ll be listening to the show with Mr. Curry, he and the kids wonder who will replace him. Cut to Henry bursting through the door, ready for the limelight.
  • Banging Pots and Pans: The kids use kitchen equipment to make the sound effects for their homemade radio show episode.
  • Cheer Up Episode: Mr. Curry is upset because the radio show he’s been listening to since he was a child has been canceled, so Paddington does his best to recreate it for him.
  • Commonality Connection: While Mr. Curry can be a Cranky Neighbor at times who tends to get irritated with Paddington’s antics, they both enjoy spending time together listening to their favorite radio show.
  • Description Cut: Paddington says they need to write the final episode of the radio show quickly. Cut to him typing excruciatingly slow on a typewriter while Judy and Jonathan are sprawled out fast asleep.
  • Fear of Thunder: Jonathan shaking a sheet pan makes such a convincing thunder noise that it causes Paddington to hide in fear.
  • High Fantasy: Paddington and Mr. Curry listen to a radio show together about a medieval dragon.
  • The Powerof Friendship: Paddington’s episode ends with all of the characters becoming friends and the dragon being revealed to have had a Hidden Heart of Gold.
  • Separate Scene Storytelling: Paddington fills Judy and Jonathan in on the plot of the radio show while flipping through an easel of crayon drawings in an Art Shift.
  • Verbal Backpedaling: Jonathan nearly reveals that the radio show episode is a fake when he accidentally uses Judy’s real name during a scene.
Jonathan: Aye, it is Judy! I - I mean Ichibald!
Judy: Stick to the lines, Jonathan!
  • Whoopee Cushion: Judy suggests using a whoopee cushion to make the horse character’s huffing noises.
  • Ye Olde Butcherede Englishe: Being a show about a medieval dragon, the script Paddington writes for the final episode is filled with this.
