Tropes:

  • Birthday Episode: A subplot focuses on Cheyenne and Mateo planning Cheyenne's upcoming 21st birthday, with Bo coming in to mix things up.
  • Easter Special: Downplayed. The episode takes place during the Easter season, but besides the presence of an Easter Bunny costume, it's not super relevant to the plot.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The list of celebrities on the "Cheyfest" advertisement includes several names scrolling by really fast, including Billie Eilish, J. K. Rowling, Gritty, PewDiePie, Bill Nye the Science Guy, Amy Klobuchar, "Fast & Furious Car," and Stuart Little.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: Amy invokes this by speaking Spanish in her interview with corporate once she realizes they're looking for a Latina perspective.
  • Ironic Echo: When Amy and Jonah don't think Amy's gonna get the job in California, Jonah shrugs it off by claiming that California has really bad water management. At the end of the episode, when Jonah proposes to move to California with Amy, Amy jokingly repeats the remark about California's water management, and Jonah responds, "I can overlook it."
  • Metaphorically True: Subverted when the interviewers ask Amy if she grew up in Honduras, and she tries and fails to work it in her favor:
Amy: Not physically, but if you think of it in a broader sense, like in the cultura that was passed down to me, then... [sighs] Still no.
  • Red Herring: Dina hints to Jonah that she's going to avoid telling Jonah where Amy has been by hiding in the Easter Bunny costume. When Jonah gets to the person in the costume, he sees that Brett's still wearing it. Dina then walks in with Amy and reveals that Dina was just hiding in her car.
  • To Be Continued: The episode ends with a "To be continued..." notice after Jonah decides to move to California with Amy.
  • Wham Line: After telling Jonah that she's sure she ruined her chance with Zephra, Amy gets a phone call from Zephra corporate, and they whisper to each other the life-changing fact:
    Jonah: You got the job?
    Amy: I got the job.
