A Mega Ranborg Explosion!? Protect Sky Land! is the 15th episode of Hirogaru Sky! Pretty Cure and is the 933rd episode overall of Pretty Cure.
Sky Land is being attacked by Ranborgs left and right.
Tropes:
- Battle Discretion Shot: During the middle of the episode, the Ranborgs' attack on Tsubasa isn't seen but he's injured enough to be left out of the battle.
- Bitch Slap: Battamonda backhands Tsubasa when he tries to defend Princess Elle.
- Bittersweet Ending: The king and queen are cursed into a coma and Shalala has disappeared. Things might have ended on a bad note, but Sora, Mashiro, and Wing return to Earth to find a way to cure the royalty from the curse.
- Borrowed Catchphrase: When Shalala thinks she's about to die, her last words are Sora, It's Hero Time, allowing her to gain a Heroic Second Wind.
- The Cameo: Cure Lovely appears in this episode's credits.
- Hero Does Public Service: Sora, as both herself and Cure Sky, is part of the Azure Guard.
- It Was a Gift: Shalala held onto the blue gem that Sora gifted her years ago after rescuing her.
- Never Found the Body: Shalala apparently dies when she's knocked off her steed while attacking the Ranborg, but no trace of her is found.
- No-Sell: Battamonda creates a Ranborg that has arms to grab the edges of the Cure's purification attack, only for Shalala to attack the Ranborg while it's distracted.
- One-Steve Limit: Zigzagged; while we get another Remi, Puwa and Shido's names are one letter off from Fuwa and Shino.
- Open Secret: They don't even try to keep the secret of being Pretty Cure, with them considered as part of the Azure Guard.
- Wham Episode: Not only does Shalala seemingly disappear after the battle against the Ranborg, the King and Queen of Sky Land get knocked out by a dark spell which they don't recover from at the end of the episode, prompting Sora and Tsubasa to come back to the human world to find a cure for them.
- Zerg Rush: Battamonda summons multiple Ranborgs at once to terrorize Sky Land, for the Azure Guard to prove themselves more than capable of dealing with them.
