“Dearest Mamo-chan, Ami has a friend who's a huge fan of Taiki. Her name's Misa. Unfortunately, she's suffering from a really serious illness. I took Taiki to visit Misa in the hospital but he seems to have his own problems. Oh Mamo-chan, what should I do?”

Ami and Usagi convince Taiki to visit one of his fans in the hospital who has a critical illness. They take him there unaware that he's suffering through self-doubt over whether his and his friends' efforts in reaching their princess are making a difference. Though a surprise gift from the sick little girl may be able to inspire hope in him.


Tropes in this episode include:

  • Afraid of Needles: Sailor Moon tries to chicken out after the Phage charges at her with medical needles.
  • As You Know: Mako fills in Usagi about Misa's condition and how Ami has been visiting her lately.
  • Bathos: Seiya tries to tell the audience that Taiki won't be participating in the concert only to be interrupted by his dramatic entrance. He then explains that Taiki took too long in the bathroom.
  • Deadly Doctor: The foreign doctor is corrupted into Sailor Doctor, a purple menace who forces people to take their shots without their consent.
  • Delicate and Sickly: Misa has a serious illness that's left her stuck in the hospital for a long time. It's reached the point where she has to undergo a major surgery.
  • Disappointed in You: After visiting Misa, Taiki decrees that Usagi is just like the rest of his noisy fans and he genuinely hoped she was different from them.
  • Dramatic Shattering: Misa's mom breaks a vase full of roses when she sees her daughter collapsed on her bed.
  • Earn Your Happy Ending: Thanks to getting a boost of confidence from Taiki, Misa musters the willpower to endure the surgery allowing the doctors to neutralize the illness so she can live a healthier life.
  • FanGirl: Misa is a big fan of the Three Lights and watches their performances religiously.
  • Foreshadowing: In her first scene, Misa is drawing a picture of a princess in space. It's later established that she is the princess of the Sailor Starlights.
  • Get a Hold of Yourself, Woman!: Mercury uses the verbal version to Sailor Moon when she cowers over Sailor Doctor's needles.
  • History with Celebrity: Usagi uses her friendship with the Three Lights to convince Taiki to come with her to visit Misa in the hospital.
  • Identical Stranger: Misa's mother heavily resembles an adult version of Makoto, despite the two not being related.
  • Hospital Hottie: Aluminum Siren disguises herself as a lovely nurse to lure the foreign doctor to his doom.
  • Oh, Crap!: Taiki gets this when Misa explains that whenever she hears the songs of the Three Lights, the image of the pretty lady appears in her head. But lately, she hasn't appeared even while hearing their songs which is around when he started to lose his faith.
  • Opaque Nerd Glasses: This episode's Monster of the Week, Sailor Doctor, wears a pair of spiral opaque round glasses similar to Umino's.
  • Soap Opera Disease: Misa's disease isn't given an official name but it's described as being so complicated that only the best doctor in the world can save her.
  • We ARE Struggling Together: After Taiki requests that the band cancels a show because he's not in the mood to sing, Seiya sucker-punches him and tells him to toughen up so they can continue their mission.
  • Wham Shot: Taiki takes a look at Misa's drawing and is amazed to see how she resembles his princess.
  • X-Ray Vision: Using his Opaque Nerd Glasses, Sailor Doctor is able to see Sailor Moon's skeleton.
