Everybody's turning into CLOWNS & Mario has to find out why 🤡
A contamination in the Mushroom Kingdom's water supply turns everyone except Mario and SMG4 into clowns. When a literal Sad Clown named Depresso turns out to be the cause behind this due to his girlfriend dumping him, the two have to help him win her heart back and stop the pandemic.

- Breaking the Fourth Wall: Twice: first when SMG4 asked who was the biggest clown Depresso's girlfriend dumped him for, leading Depresso to point at the viewers; again when Mario later comments that the video is almost over and nothing had been resolved, with clownified SMG4 jokingly stating he didn't "write this episode" properly.
- Clownification: The basic premise of the episode.
- Disaster Dominoes: What SMG4's big mistake was (in a semi-literal extent), ending with the entire planet losing all electricity.
- The Immune: Mario's massive amount of stupidity leaves him immune to the clown transformation, though oddly he seems more clever and rational than usual in this episode.
- Laughing Mad: At the end, Depresso starts laughing. Not the good kind of laughter you would expect from a clown who got his wacky mojo together, but rather the laughing sound from The Joker.
- Monster Clown: The clown plague turns people into a more comical version of this, doing silly antics with no regard for others, but the ending implies Depresso will become a straight case of this.
- Mythology Gag: Clown Tari sings the "Always Running" opening theme in her own series.
- No Ending: Due to the fact that episode doesn't really come up with a resolution for the story. SMG4 ends up making a big mistake and turns into the biggest clown ever, causing Depresso's ex-girlfriend to fall for him and ruining Depresso's chances of getting back together with her, leaving Depresso to go insane. Also, SMG4 couldn't come up with a proper resolution to the episode, leaving everyone in the Mushroom Kingdom (except Mario who is too stupid to turn into one) stuck as clowns until the next episode.
- Sanity Slippage: The ending implies that being humiliated for nothing and brutally mocked by his ex has caused Depresso to go from a Sad Clown to a Monster Clown, but it doesn't really go anywhere.
- Take That, Audience!: When SMG4 asks Depresso who the biggest clown is, he points to the camera, which pans out to SMG4 and Mario agreeing while looking straight at it.
- The Worf Effect: Meggy, one of the most competent characters, trips over a rock when fighting the clowns, making a fool of herself and turning her into one of them.
