The fire chief Ralph Bakshi is so impressed with Ren and Stimpy's heroic deeds from the first "Fire Dogs" cartoon that he lets them move in with him. But Ren and Stimpy are disgusted by his habits.
Fire Dogs 2 contains examples of:
- Artifact Title: This episode almost has nothing to do with the original episode, "Fire Dogs". The only thing it has is it continues directly from where that episode ended, before turning into something else.
- Ax-Crazy: One scene has Ralph literally becoming this when he thinks circus midgets are invading his apartment.
- Big Ol' Eyebrows: Ralph Bakshi's character has these.
- Body Horror: We see burning disembodied body parts lying along the ground at the beginning of the episode, including an eyeball and a finger which Ren uses to light Ralph's cigarette.
- Broken Record: This is shown to be playing at Ralph's apartment.
- Dogs Love Fire Hydrants: At the very start of the episode, we see a long line of dogs (including a fat woman) trying to hold it in while another dog takes a whiz at the fire hydrant.
- Fan Disservice: Ralph has a few of these moments.
- Immediate Sequel: The episode starts just where the original left off.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: Subverted in "Fire Dogs 2" when the fire chief, which is based on Ralph Bakshi, morphs into Bakshi himself (complete with voice and everything) and stays that way for the rest of the episode.
- Nipple and Dimed: Averted. The episode has two paintings of naked women whose nipples are clearly visible.
- Silly Animal Sound: At one point during the Fire Chief's Transformation Sequence, we see a small rodent, that makes monkey sounds, sliding out of his ear.
- Suddenly Shouting:Fire Chief: And I thought you were BUMS!!!!!
- Speed Sex: Ralph having sex with his date is said to have taken exactly 12 seconds.
- Sudden Downer Ending: The Fire Chief randomly fires Ren and Stimpy for no reason right as the episode ends.
- Through a Face Full of Fur: Stimpy frontally turns green from inhaling and exhaling smoke from the wrong end of a cigarette.
- Toilet Humor: Ren and Stimpy watching Fire Chief take a dump (which he gleefully invites them to do) and, later, Stimpy pulling his gelatinous turd out of the toilet.
- Transformation Sequence: The Fire Chief becoming Bakshi.
