Inspired by a legend Alyssa reads to him, Max decides to throw a wish in a bottle into the lake. He unwittingly awakens the Monster of the Week, Ship Org, and the Rangers have to battle it. Unfortunately, nothing in their arsenal can pierce its shield. They get help from a new Wildzord, the Giraffe. Max tries his luck again and wishes for the Rangers to stop treating him like the Tagalong Kid. Meanwhile, Jindrax is left wondering about why would Master Org need to adjust his horns, because that's definitely not normal for an Org.

- Arbitrary Skepticism: Max's belief in a local fairytale is dismissed as childish nonsense by a bunch of Power Rangers that pilot giant animals and face ancient monsters on a weekly basis.
- The Baby of the Bunch: Max chafes over being this. His wish was to stop being treated like a kid.Ship Org: Hey, you're the kid from last night.
Max: Don't call me a kid! I'm the Surging Shark!
Ship Org: More like a Surging Guppy. - Catapult Nightmare: Falling asleep while Alyssa's reading a story, Max has a nightmare of a Megazord fight going horribly wrong and leaps out of his chair. It happens again after he wakes up following his first fight with Ship Org.
- Dreaming of Things to Come: Max keeps having nightmares of a Megazord fight going badly. It comes to pass when Ship Org grows. Max then hears a voice telling him to use the Spear of Pardolis, meaning the dreams were part of the new Zord calling out to him.
- Dumbass Has a Point: By his own admission, Jindrax isn't too bright, but he tells Toxica that their horns can't be adjusted.Jindrax: How could he move his horn?
Toxica: [suspiciously] A very good question. - Foreshadowing: Toxica thinks she sensed a human in the Nexus and then sees Master Org adjust his horn.
- Friendship Moment:
- With Cole staring at the photo of his parents all depressed, Taylor offers to show him a photo of her old squadron to cheer him up.
- Danny assures an unconscious Max that they'll make things right.
- When Max contemplates throwing another wish in the lake, Danny appears and gives him a bottle.
- Hero of Another Story: According to Shayla, Pardolis was an Animarium warrior that commanded the Giraffe Wildzord.
- It's Personal: Aside from wanting to get his bottle back, Max is also peeved about Ship Org getting the better of him.Max: I can't let that Org beat a shark in his own water.
- Jaw Drop: Toxica has one when shocked from seeing Master Org adjusting his horn.
- Not So Above It All: After congratulating Max, Taylor calls him a kid to mess with him.
- Oh, Crap!: Toxica's reaction to Master Org adjusting his horn. Master Org does this in return to the possibility of someone having seen him do that.
- Real After All: Max was right all along about a creature living in the lake.
- Red Eyes, Take Warning: In the water, Ship Org is about to finish off an unconscious Max, but he gets scared off by a pair of big, red eyes. Subverted in that it's the Giraffe Wildzord, though that certainly means Ship Org had good reason to flee.
- Shout-Out: "They sank my battleship!"
- So Much for Stealth: When Toxica quickly flees from the Nexus after discovering Master Org's secret, he notices the movement and reaching the door he demands to know who was there, but fortunately for Toxica she managed to get away unnoticed.
- Tender Tears: Alyssa's story moves her and Danny to tears. Max (who was supposed to be paying attention) gives himself away by asking what's wrong.
- The Nose Knows: Toxica is revealed to be able to detect a human's scent, which leads her to...
- This Cannot Be!: Toxica over-sensing a human in the Nexus. She goes through this again after seeing Master Org adjust his horn and struggles to process it.Toxica: No!, it can't be!, a human?
- Unknown Rival: Between the bottle and badly losing the first fight, Max really wants to take down Ship Org, but the Org is barely even aware of who he is.
- Wild Card: Ship Org ends up smacking around Putrids in addition to the Rangers, much to the annoyance of Jindrax.
