Recap / Kyoryu Sentai Zyuranger E 20 Daizyuzins Last Day

Go To

Three days after acquiring the dinosaur eggs, Bandora springs a trap to force Daizyujin into the open as a solar eclipse commences.

Tropes:

  • Batman Gambit: Bandora's forces attack the city in order to make the Zyuranger summon Daizyujin, which they are reluctant to do since they know that Bandora plans to destroy him. She ends up forcing their hand by having Grifforzar take a kindergarten bus hostage and threatening to push it over a cliff onto the dinosaur eggs.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: While Lammy does get her wish for Grifforzar to speak, his first choice of words are "Women have no place in battle".
  • Behemoth Battle: Daizyujin vs. Grifforzar, Lamia Scorpion, and Dragon Ranger.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Daizyujin's first unequivocal defeat in the series, due to being outnumbered three to one and being deprived of his natural power source.
  • Darkest Hour: For the Zyurangers; Daizyujin's defeat definitely struck a blow.
  • Downer Ending: Daizyujin is defeated and the dinosaur eggs are adrift in the sea again.
  • Giant Robot Hands Save Lives: How Daizyujin saves a bus full of kindergartners that the villains were pushing off a cliff.
  • Heroic BSoD: The Zyurangers go through this after losing Daiyujin.
  • Make My Monster Grow: Besides Lamy, Bandora grows Grifforzar and Dragon Ranger offscreen.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Due to Geki's reluctance to fight back against his brother, Dragon Ranger managed to overwhelm Daizyujin and prevent him for escaping until Grifforzar and Lammy regroup and the three gang up on him.
  • The Power of the Sun: Most of the natural energy that Daizyujin's derived his power comes from the sun, Bandora having forced the deity into fighting her forces during a solar eclipse where he is at his weakest.
  • Old-School Chivalry: Grifforzar's Establishing Character Moment upon being able to speak his mind.
  • One-Winged Angel: Lamy's form when grown to giant size, becoming a hideous bipedal scorpion monster.
  • Total Eclipse of the Plot: Bandora's overall scheme to force Daizyujin out during a solar eclipse to take him out.
  • Wham Shot: A giant-sized Dragon Ranger keeping Daizyjin from escaping and joining the fight can count for some. A better example would be Lamia's change from a sexy woman to a grotesque scorpion thing.
  • Would Hurt a Child: Bandora's group attempting to kill off a kindergarten class.
