Narrator: Previously on… Kamen Rider Gotchard!
Houtarou Ichinose goes on a field trip to Kyoto, while his best friend Ryo Kajiki "Gotchanko-ed" to meet an occult-loving girl named Hijiri Himeno!
He believed he found his destined encounter!
That's when Clotho of the Dark Sisters appeared and sent a Malgam after Houtarou and the others, with Golddash arriving just as Houtarou was in danger!
Now, it's turnabout "Gotcha" time!

Kajiki is brokenhearted over the fact that his potential new girlfriend, Hijiri, already has a boyfriend. The "boyfriend" in question, however, turns out to be her older brother Tsurugi and the second criminal who escaped police custody, thus the most likely target to be transformed into a Malgam.

With this startling revelation, Houtaro and Minato must stop him before he wreaks havoc on society, but things get complicated when the Chemy possesses someone else...

Tropes

• The Bad Guy Wins: Downplayed. While Houtarou manages to capture Junglejan and Raidenji from their Malgam hosts, Clotho manages to retain some of the malice they generated as well as capture UFO-X, allowing her to advance her and her sisters' plan.
• Badass Bystander: Kajiki manages to talk Hijiri down so Gotchard can land the final blow.
• Big Damn Heroes: Golddash saves Houtarou twice, first against the Jungle Malgam and later against the second Battery Malgam.
• Book Ends: Kajiki and Hijiri connect again by Hijiri realizing Kajiki has a paranormal magazine.
• Break the Cutie: Hijiri doesn't take the revelation of Tsurugi’s true colors well, her rage causing her become the second Battery Malgam after Raidenji is seperated from Tsurugi.
• Broken Pedestal: Hijiri is heartbroken when her brother Tsurugi not only reveals that he really was guilty of the serial arson he was accused of, but also tries to kill her.
• Delayed Reaction: Kajiki is relieved the boy he saw earlier was not Hijiri's lover, then freaks out after realizing he's also a wanted criminal and Hijiri's now in danger.
• Funny Background Event: When Kajiki tries to get some strangers to show him the news broadcast on Tsurugi, Rinne, Sabimaru, and Renge try to get them to not do it since they don't want Kajiki getting involved.
• Here We Go Again!: During the re-meeting of Hijiri and Kajiki, Hopper1, once again, pops out of Hotaro's pocket to try and get close to the two.
• Heroic Second Wind: When Houtaro is on the ropes in his fight with Tsurugi, Kajiki starts cheering and it gives Houtaro a boost. These roles get reversed when Hotaro encourages Kajiki to comfort Hijiri-as-Battery Malgam while he's keeping the latter distracted.
• Hourglass Plot: The episode starts with Tsurugi wanting to dispose of Hijiri as he wanted to tie up loose ends. Later on, Hijiri then wants to take out her brother to Pay Evil unto Evil for proving himself guilty of his crimes.
• Maybe Magic, Maybe Mundane: While the existence of Chemies does prove that supernatural phenomena do exist in the world of Gotchard, it's left ambiguous whether the hitodama Hijiri saw as a child were real or the sparks from the fires her brother Tsurugi lit.
• Mundane Made Awesome: Never has showing someone a magazine been so empowering.
• Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: While he's required to memory wipe Kajiki and Hijiri, Minato doing so moments after they see it meant he (and the Alchemists) not only missed a Chemy, but had it captured by Clotho.
• Pet the Dog: Instead of acting immediately, Minato gives Kajiki and Hijiri a 30-minute grace period before he erases their memories.
• Relative Error: Kajiki mistakes Tsurugi for Hijiri's boyfriend at first, but it's cleared up when he sees a news report on Tsurugi's escape.
• Something Only They Would Say: Kajiki realizes Houtaro is Gotchard when he says this is his shot at love, "Fateful encounter", which is exactly what Houtaro told him earlier.
• Status Quo Is God: Kajiki realizes his friend is Gotchard, but then the memory wipe erases that info out of his head.
• Throw the Dog a Bone: Due to the memory wipe, it seems like Kajiki and Hijiri won't get together, but they manage to pass by each other again and they reconnect the same way.
• Violence is the Only Option: Even after Kajiki gets Hijiri to calm down, Houtaro still has to hit her with a finisher to bring her back to normal.
• Wham Shot:
  • Just as Raidenji is freed from Tsurugi, it is suddenly grabbed by a miasma of malice emitting from Hijiri, who proceeds to fuse with the Chemy and transform into the Battery Malgam.
  • Clotho capturing UFO-X.
