Based on One Day at HorrorLand, book #16 of the original Goosebumps series.

Luke and Lizzy Morris, along with their family, end up in a monster-based theme park, and soon find the dangers are real.

The episode provides examples of:

  • Adapted Out: Clay does not appear in this version.
  • Ambiguously Gay: The makeup artist horror, given his outfit, profession, and mannerisms.
  • Death by Adaptation: Unlike the book, the Morris family wins a car after surviving Horrorland — and then are shown to drive dangling onto the edge of a cliff, which the Horror host refers to as a cliffhanger ending. We then see an elderly Horror couple watching the end of the show.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: The host of Raw Deal announces that they are going to commercial, just as the show itself cuts to commercial.
  • Lighter and Softer: Where the book plays the premise straight, much of the episode (particularly the Raw Deal segments) is turned into a Black Comedy of sorts.
  • No Celebrities Were Harmed: “Holly Tosis”, a monster version of Vanna White. Also a Punny Name.
  • Not a Mask: Near the end of the story when Lizzie and her entire family gets cornered by hordes of Horrors, a frustrated Lizzie — who's still thinking the Horrors are merely actors — grab a nearby Horror's face and tugs at it, intending to see who's under that mask. Unfortunately, the Horrors are real monsters.
  • Token Heroic Orc: One lone green-skinned horror tries to warn Lizzy and Luke that they are not safe in HorrorLand and begs them to get out while they still can. His motives turn out to be somewhat less than heroic; he's just bitter that he wasn't chosen to host the Sadistic Game Show run by the horrors, although he still helps the Morris family with their escape.
