A Plot: Brent invites Lacey, Hank, and Wanda to his house to watch scary movies on Halloween, but strange occurrences convince them that Brent's house may be haunted.

B Plot: Karen's frustrated that a town bylaw states that only one officer can dress up for Halloween while the other has to remain in uniform, especially after Davis brags about a costume he based off of his favorite comic book character...but it turns out he forgot to check if it'd fit, and convinces Karen to wear it for him.

C Plot: Oscar ticks off a bunch of teenagers on Halloween, and spends the night anxious that they'll egg the house in retaliation.

  • The Butcher: According to Hank, the previous owners of Brent's house were Mr. and Mrs. Aberdeen, who rented the basement out to a butcher that supposedly killed them and skipped town with a large freezer.
  • Dresses the Same: During the night, Davis accidentally mixes Karen up with a child wearing a similar costume, leading to an accidental kidnapping and then getting too distracted resolving it to safeguard the Leroy house from vandals.
  • Halloween Episode: The episode first premiered on Oct. 25, 2021, and is set on Halloween.
  • Haunted House: One of the main plots is whether or not Brent's house is haunted, after a few strange occurrences and Hank deciding to tell a tale of how the previous occupants were supposedly killed in the basement. After uncovering evidence that the Aberdeens died elsewhere, they then learn that The Butcher died just a few days ago and could be the ghost. In the end, it turns out that Brent just has a raccoon infestation.
  • His Name Really Is "Barkeep": When Brent look The Butcher up on the internet, it turns out his full name was Murray Butcher.
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: When Davis first shows off his costume to Karen, he mentions his meticulous attention to detail and how there isn't a single thing wrong with it...and then he wails because he got the measurements wrong and it doesn't fit him.
  • Impossible Insurance: The episode starts with Brent selling anti-vandalism "Halloween" insurance to people in town, but charging Oscar triple the cost because his surliness makes him the biggest target of the night. Oscar of course refuses to pay, only to regret it after insulting some teens that were trick-or-treating without a costume. In the end, it turns out Emma already paid for it, allowing her to vandalize their own house and terrorize Oscar...and in The Tag, it turns out Brent subcontracted the teens to do the cleaning for him.
  • It's Quiet… Too Quiet: Oscar says the exact phrase when he and the cops are patrolling his house to stop potential vandals, though Davis claims it's just an appropriate amount of quiet.
  • Meta Guy: Lacey spends the episode lampshading all of the horror movie tropes the others are mindlessly engaging in, such as investigating the dark basement when a fuse blows instead of just waiting things out.
  • Never My Fault: When Davis learns he accidentally kidnapped a kid because he was wearing the same outfit as Karen (despite being half the size), Davis reprimands the boy for following a stranger (despite having picked up and carried the child over his shoulder) and confiscates the kid's candy as punishment before telling him to run back to his parents.
  • "Scooby-Doo" Hoax: Karen uncovers that the Leroy house isn't being vandalized by teenagers, but by Emma, in order to mess with Oscar. She even states that she "would've gotten away with it if it hadn't been for the meddler" and acknowledges it as a Scooby Doo reference.
  • Sexy Whatever Outfit: When Davis promises that Karen can wear whatever outfit she wants next year if he shows off his Dr. Armor-dillo costume, she's not sure what she'll pick, but she plans for it to be "slutty".
  • Summon Bigger Fish: Hank's plan for dealing with Brent's ghost problem is to use an Ouija board to call up a bigger ghost, preferably AndrĂ© the Giant.
