While looking for the TV remote stuck between the couch cushions, Numbuh 4 discovers a hidden world of frat boys.

  • Appliance Defenestration: In the credits, Numbuh 4 throws the couch out of the treehouse after some Daves steal the remote and popcorn.
  • Bigger on the Inside: The inside of the couch contains a whole other world full of frat boys.
  • Brick Joke: Numbuh 4 originally gets the rest of the team (except Numbuh 3) off the couch by convincing them there was an emergency in Sector C (in China). Much later, when Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 end up in Sector C after falling out of the couch world, cornered by dust bunnies, the rest of the team arrives and saves them (conveniently enough, they had cleaning-based weaponry).

  • Digging to China: A variant. Numbuh 4 and Numbuh 3 fall down "the crevice" and end up in Sector C's treehouse, which is located in China.
  • Girls Have Cooties: Numbuh 3 touching the "sacred remote" is such an afront to the Daves that they release a horde of dust bunnies after her.
  • Groin Attack: Implied. During their fight over the remote, a punch sound is heard before Numbuh 4 cries out "right in the thyroid".
  • Planet of Steves: Every one of the guys in the Couch World is named "Dave".
  • Remote Control Ruckus: The episode begins with Numbuh 3 and Numbuh 4 fighting over whether to watch the "Rainbow Monkey Share-Time Special" or the "Manly Man Yelling and Dropping Heavy Things Hour." In the ensuing fight, the remote gets dropped into the couch cushions, with Numbuh 4 discovering an entire world inside the couch when he dives in after it.
Numbuh 3: We can't watch this! My show is educational! You need to learn about sharing!
Numbuh 4: Oh, yeah?! Well, you need something big dropped on you!
  • Ship Tease: Numbuh 5 elbows Numbuh 2 in the ribs when he says Numbuh 10 is attractive.
  • Shout-Out: The Chariot Race for the remote is a parody of Ben-Hur (1959), especially the Spiked Wheels coming out of Dave's wheel.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Numbuh 3 decides to simply change the channel using the buttons on the TV itself once the remote is lost, whereas Numbuh 4 desperately digs through the couch to retrieve it.
  • The Tag: Numbuh 4 is happily watching TV until Emperor Dave and another Dave keep popping up through the couch to steal his popcorn and the remote again. He eventually just throws the couch out the window.
  • Too Much Information: The Daves say this in response to anything that could be vaguely interpreted as a Double Entendre.
