When Lynn learns that Jefferson brokered a deal with Agent Odell without consulting her first, it begins to put a strain on their relationship. Meanwhile, Anissa and Grace have an emotional encounter.


  • Absentee Actor: Neither Lala nor Gambi appear.
  • Armor-Piercing Slap: Henderson receives one from an angry old lady.
  • The Bus Came Back: Grace returns and she and Anissa finally patch up things.
  • Came Back Strong: Khalil now knows 23 different kinds of martial art styles.

  • Chekhov's Skill: Khalil mentions to Odell that it is possible to kill a man merely with a blow to the chest; he later appears to use this technique in combat.
  • Cold-Blooded Torture: Odell tortures Tobias with UV light to get the location of the briefase, resulting in some very nasty burns.
  • Defiant Captive: Tobias isn't letting being tortured get to him, spitefully refusing all of Odell's attempts at deals or intimidation.
  • Good Cop/Bad Cop: After the torture fails, Odell tries to bait Tobias with giving him back his old territory. Tobias doesn't bite (yet).
  • I Gave My Word: Odell lets Jefferson and Lynn return to their daughters.
  • Irony: Jennifer unwittingly works together with Khalil again, because after she takes down the data farm, Khalil takes down a Markovian hideout.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Odell frames the death of Nichelle Payne on the Markovians in order to get Jennifer to destroy their data farm.

  • Never My Fault: Odell first tries to blame Tobias for Issa's death for revealing too much info, but he quickly retorts.
  • New Transfer Student: A new, idealistic student named Brandon comes to Garfield.
  • Not So Different: Tobias tells Odell that he would've dealt with Issa in the exact same way.
  • The Plague: Dr. Jace engineered one, which is rapidly killing metas.
  • Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: Sergeant King, who got taken by the ASA last episode, reveals that she once stole money from criminals and asks Henderson to give it to her husband. After first being reluctant, Henderson goes along with it after King tragically dies due to the virus.
  • Swapped Roles: At the beginning of the episode, funny enough, Anissa has been staying out late and Jennifer is the worried one, for a change.
  • Transformation Trinket: Odell provides Jefferson with a watch that contains a new, highly advanced suit.

  • We Hardly Knew Ye: Sergeant King dies one episode after being abducted by the ASA.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: The old lady calls out Henderson for allowing things to get worse.
