Bruce Wayne meets one of his most hated enemies...Margie from the PTA!
Tropes:
- Astonishingly Appropriate Interruption: One of the ladies setting things up delivers a speech, saying that the day wouldn't have been possible without someone who went above and beyond...which is exactly when the announcement that Bruce hired a whole bunch of ice cream trucks for the party comes through the speakers.
- The Character Ice Cream Bar: In-Universe; the Gotham ice cream business sells Batman popsicles, and Bruce gets one at the party, presumably as a playful reference to his secret.
- Double-Meaning Title: "Just Desserts" invokes how Bruce decides to bring ice cream (just desserts) in order to one-up his arch-nemesis Margie...thus giving her karma (or her just deserts).
- "Eureka!" Moment: While trying to calm Bruce down, Alfred reminds him that the children are supposed to be the main focus of the day. Bruce gets the idea to fix the problem by calling in a squad of ice cream trucks for the party, which the class (and other PTA members) will love, and Margie won't.
- It's Quiet… Too Quiet: When Alfred asks if he really needs to stand by, he says that it's been quiet lately. Bruce retorts that the quiet is just what's making him suspicious that Margie is plotting.
- No Kill like Overkill: To get back at Margie for making him look bad in front of the PTA moms, Bruce hires a group of ice cream trucks to give the kids free ice cream. He admits to Duke that he went a little overboard, but he also admits that getting back at her was so satisfying.
- Not so Dire: As Bruce drives to the school, he talks to Alfred, who questions if he really needs to be on standby. Bruce answers that "she" is tricky and he expects her to strike today. It turns out that the person he means isn't a supervillainess; she's just a PTA mom who likes to make him look bad.
- Playing Nice for Now: Bruce knows that Margie set him up, but they're not going to let their feud become obvious in public. Therefore, they both wait until the other PTA moms are gone before they begin sniping.
- Slave to PR: Exploited. Margie sets up Bruce to look careless while presenting herself as the sweet, can-do helper. Bruce retaliates against Margie in a way that benefits everyone else: calling a squad of ice cream trucks to cater the party. Margie is furious at being upstaged, but her façade won't allow her to admit she's angry about Bruce recovering from the incident, so she just has to grin and bear it.
- Spit Take: Duke spits out some of his drink when Bruce's announcement comes over the intercom.
- Sugary Malice: Margie sets Bruce up to bring the wrong items just so she can look good for "saving the day" with her cupcakes and mockingly blesses his heart for making the attempt.
- The Unsmile: When one of the other PTA moms happily asks Margie what she thinks of Bruce's solution, Margie says it's incredible while giving a smile that looks like she's having her teeth pulled.
