Frylock has a Make Your Own Dog software and Meatwad wants a dog. They try to create a dog at Carl's pool and Master Shake accidentally put his hand in the water, creating a yellow dog named Handbanana. While he is a cute dog, he has tendencies to rape Carl.
"Handbanana" contains examples of:
- A.I. Is a Crapshoot: Handbanana's sinister nature can be chalked up to the side effects from the software that created him, which made it illegal in 80 countries and with a warning not to actually make your own dog.
- Animals Fear Neutering: Averted. Carl wanted Handbanana to be spayed as he talked to Frylock/Handbanana on the phone. Handbanana didn't even flinch when he heard that.
- Bad Impressionists: Averted. Handbanana did a convincingly accurate impression of Frylock while talking to Carl.
- Bait-and-Switch: At first it seems like Handbanana pooped in Shake's chair at one point, but the baked goods he left in it really were baked goods.
- Black Comedy Rape: Handbanana and Spaghetti like to rape Carl repeatedly.
- Blatant Lies: During Carl's phone call, Handbanana with his Frylock impression said that Handbanana is sent to the pound for raping Carl.
- Character Catchphrase: Handbanana likes to say "Tonight, you" to Carl.
- Dogs Are Dumb: Handbanana acts like this towards the Aqua Teens, and only shows his true colors to Carl.
- Downer Ending: Carl attempts to handle his situation after his cries fall on deaf ears ultimately results in him getting effectively gang raped by Handbanana and Spaghetti, and while the Aqua Teens are made aware of what's happening, they'd rather not get involved proceed to lock the house down to prevent Handbanana from getting in.
- Evil Sounds Deep: Handbanana has a deep voice when talking to Carl.
- Failed a Spot Check: While still impersonating Frylock, Handbanana ends his phone call to Carl saying that he has to go because "Frylock’s coming." Carl doesn’t pick up on this.
- Five-Second Foreshadowing: When Carl creates a dog to get back at Handbanana, he calls him The Enforcer. The dog tells him to call him Spaghetti, which Carl heard. Implying Spaghetti has bonded with Carl like Handbanana did.
- Foreshadowing: The cover of "Make Your Own Dog 1.0" had the girl with the dog smiling, but the boy in the background looking at the dog with a horrified expression, and early hint that the dog being created isn't going to come out harmless.
- Karma Houdini: Handbanana and Spaghetti ultimately get away with their actions.
- Meaningful Rename: Carl has created his own dog, the Enforcer, who wanted his new name to be Spaghetti.
- "Not So Different" Remark: Carl told Spaghetti that he was created from Carl's hairs that grow from his feet, which made Spaghetti happy that they have a lot in common, which results in Spaghetti raping Carl..
- Talking Animal: Downplayed. Handbanana and Spaghetti only talk to Carl and no one else.
