- A Day in the Limelight: A random Snow Golem is promoted to the main focus of the episode.
- Didn't Think This Through: The Ice King's "invincible ice armor" is thick, heavy, and has no joints, so he cannot move at all. Finn and Jake are fighting him anyway, even though, for all intents and purposes, he has imprisoned himself.
- Formula-Breaking Episode: An episode that barely features Finn and Jake, focuses on two days in the life of never-before seen minor characters, and is largely silent comedy.
- Freudian Slip: After trying to keep Finn and Jake's sandwiches to himself all episode, the Ice King sees the Snow Golem playing with the fire wolves and says "Y'know, maybe we could learn a thing or two from those sandwiches."
- Funny Background Event: The Snow Golem sees Finn and Jake battling with the Ice King, and wisely stays out of their way. He passes by their confrontation a few more times throughout the episode.
- Gentle Giant: The Snow Golem is big and has a kind heart to take care of the fire wolf despite it being hazardous to him.
- Odd Friendship: The Snow Golem bonds with the baby fire wolf, and ends up befriending its pack. Discussed by Finn and Jake at the end of the episode.Finn: I thought Snow Golems and fire wolves hated each other.

Jake: Yep. - Spoonerism: When Finn, Jake, and Ice King all fall asleep while fighting each other, Ice King attempts to say "invincible ice armor", but instead says "iniceible vince armor".
- Title Drop: The Ice King says "Thank You" at the very end, after getting a friendly smooch on the cheek from Finn.
