Don't let the first few comics fool you... Things get dark real quick.

- Antihoo monsters. Imagine one of your beloved characters becoming a horrifyingly mutated monstrosity hell-bent on killing you. And thanks to Art Evolution, they get progressively worse.
- It's later established that Antihoo monsters don't have to be a singular character, they can also be a fusion as seen with Pop's hallucination of Courage and Swiper or Ms Bellum after taking 2 doses of Antihoo serum and fusing with the corpses of her fallen allies.
- Commander One locked in a containment pod. Fully awake, with nothing but the Voices to keep him company. For years.
- We see another brief glimpse into a major source of his madness. As he microwaves some leftovers, a fly is caught inside the microwave, and he begins to float in and out of a trauma flashback watching... something happen as Minnie bangs on the windscreen of a ship to try and escape something.
- Ms. Bellum as an example of Adaptational Villainy is the most threatening of the members of Mick's Alaska team. As a reference to her being faceless in her show of origin, she's basically an Eldritch Abomination who can use her Ballyhoo to mind control her enemies and also attack with a swarm of tentacles where her face should be. It turns out that she can make her brainwashed victims hallucinate when it's revealed that her mind-controlled Pop hallucinates Swiper and Courage as an Antihoo monster. Even after Courage and Swiper successfully manage to break Pop free from her mind control, she's still dangerous in that she's able to fuse with the corpses of her other allies after injecting herself with 2 needles of Antihoo serum. Suffice to say, she's tough enough that Scoob is forced to make a deal with Illapa to gain their full blessing in order to empower his attack....and even that isn't enough. It takes a similarly fully blessed Channeled Shag dive-kicking into Bellum's Satellite-empowered tornado arm, assisted by Bugs's Twilight-empowered Dead Air in a Combination Attack, in order to finish off the unholy monster Bellum becomes.
- Mick's speech in "News" has him announce to the people of the Earth that his home planet has been taken and that he now controls all governments and military forces across the Earth. The first shot of Mick uses a Dutch Angle in tandem with Swiper's cracked phone screen to set the tone of his message. It then ends with footage of a broken Velm using Format to wipe the memory of anyone watching the video. The main characters turn away to avoid losing their memories with Olive mentioning how many people were watching. As Swiper notices, 8,068,792,641 people had watched the speech on Youtube with the implications disturbing him enough that he starts panicking. It takes Ger yelling at him to make Swiper snap out of it.
- Though minor compared to "News", Chase and Kell getting murdered by Eddy in "Regrets" involves Chase being bisected (with visible spine) with his lower half shoved into a wall, and Kell having died of suffocation due to their ghost costume being wrapped super tightly. Worse still, Eddy outright tells the remaining kid that the Toones own the police before sparing his life.
- The entirety of the Emergency arc. The basic premise involves Javi taking a train to Kimster's party only for things to go horribly, horribly wrong. The train driver being murdered is only the start of it and it turns out that something is causing the train to loop infinitely, preventing people from dying of hunger and for the passengers to turn on each other. Javi's attempt to escape leads him to an alternate future where everyone except a fully grown version of a little girl is dead, and while it's implied that he escaped, he's so traumatized that he's reduced to huddling himself outside the door. As it turns out, Eddy had used his Ballyhoo Bottle Episode to trap several people for his own amusement, and it's fortunate that the heroes were able to kick his ass and force him to give up.
- The most disturbing part? That alternate future wasn't because of Bottle Episode. It was a side-effect of Cue Card: Full Script. And according to Five, the one we as the viewers saw was likely just one of DOZENS of alternate timelines poor Javi had to see, if not more, and it wasn't just him either - it was everyone in that train car. Granted, there's the comfort of knowing Five tried to minimize the side effects as much as she could, and Velm's Format effectively erased the traumatic experience for all the bystanders, but it just goes to show how dangerous getting caught in the crossfire between Toones with Ballyhoos can be for regular humans.
