    Intro/Beacon Arc
  • Effectively every single flashback moment to Team RWBY's time in Fairy Tail is this. Whether it's Ruby bonding with Wendy, Weiss having a heart-to-heart with Gray, Blake working through some issues with Mirajane, or Yang enjoying her time with Natsu and Lucy, it's clear just why the four Huntresses truly consider the guild their second family and proudly carry the guild mark on their bodies.
    • When Ozpin recognizes the guild crest they all wear now, he tells Qrow and Winter, through Ironwood to try and find out where they came from. But he also assures them that Fairy Tail was a benevolent organization and that Team RWBY very likely wasn't coerced into anything.
  • Chapter 5: Yang asks Qrow about her mother, but not concerning her whereabouts, but if she had wanted her. Qrow answers that Raven did love her, and that the reason she left wasn't because of her. He also wonders if this newfound maturity of Yang's could've come from Fairy Tail.
  • In Chapter 8, Qrow shows compassion and offers encouraging words to an exhausted Winter who's been taking quite a number of shots after finding out her little sister now knows magic. Sure, they may not be best friends, but he knows what it's like to have your world turned upside-down and worry about what this means for the ones you care about.
Volume 4 Arcs: Mistral, Atlas, Menagerie
  • Chapter 15 is where Wendy first gets her Aura unlocked, then she raises Jaune's spirits by saying things get better. Then her scene is capped off by a certain cute little corgi cuddling with the Sky Dragon Slayer.
  • Chapter 16:
    • Villainous example: Despite her frustration with Mercury, Emerald can't help but sympathize with him while he's enduring Neo-Hell's Core. Not to mention Salem encouraging Cinder to form bonds of friendship with her servants.
    • Sun's nothing but supportive of Blake as they arrive in Kuo Kuana, even while the cat Faunus is still beating herself up over the things that happened in Beacon. He also advises her to see her parents before she goes off into the desert to train.
    • In a flashback, Yang quietly admits to Blake that her flirtatious behavior towards Natsu and Lucy isn't just her being Yang, but that even if her time until returning to Remnant is limited, she at least wants to bring the two together. And if she gets to join in the action, no complaints on her side.
    • Unlike in canon, where he was constantly worried he might going insane due to hearing Oz's voice, here, Oscar gets a chance to wonder at the magic he might be capable of with Ozpin's help.
  • Chapter 19 has Taiyang expressing concern at the sight of black markings Yang has been manifesting while using her Fire Devil Slayer Magic, only for her to try and blow it off by saying it's just a natural part of her magic and she'll get it under control. However, her confidence briefly cracks when she muses that it could end up turning her into a demon and asks her dad if he would still love if it came to that point. Taiyang immediately embraces her and promises her that he would never stop loving her no matter what she turned into.
  • The Belladonna family reunion in Chapter 25. While it could certainly occur under better circumstances, considering that Blake nearly killed them, Sun and Ilia in a berserk rage and Tyrian had to save them, it's still beautiful to see how Kali and Ghira both express their unconditional love for Blake and show her that, no matter her own self-loathing, they still love her even if she has the potential to turn into a monster.
  • Winter's Heroic Sacrifice, in addition to being a Tear Jerker, giving up her freedom to save Weiss, Gray, and Penny from Esper, giving her sister one last hug before leaping out of the bullhead to buy her the time she needs to escape.
Winter: "I love you, little sister."
    Haven Arc
  • Chapter 36:
    • Sun's come to grips that he probably can't do magic like Teams RWBY or JNPR, so he decides to take a different role: train the army of Menagerie Ghira is assembling so that when the heroes need help, they'll get it. Blake thanks him for helping in the fight with Tyrian, and all the other times he's supported her since the two first met, with a kiss on the cheek and telling him he's pretty awesome in his own right.
    • When Team RNJR reunites with Pyrrha, Ruby, Nora and Ren instantly hug her, while Jaune does a little Call-Back. And then when they see Erza, Ruby, Wendy, and Carla tackle her to the ground with their hugs. Though the mood is dampened by her not recognizing them.
    • Really, Oscar seeing Ozma and Sitara's interactions through his past life memories count as this, showing that they truly did care for each other before things obviously went so very wrong.
  • Chapter 39:
    • A flashback to Team RWBY's time with Fairy Tail display's Erza's motherly side with how she fusses over Ruby and teammates leaving for a mission involving Tartaros, making sure they have all their supplies and wanting to desperately go with them to protect them. It really shows why Ruby looks up to the Fairy Queen so much and how much she means to her.
    • Ozpin also shares with Ruby some history regarding her mother. It's a rather touching moment as it is the most Ruby has heard from anyone about her mother as neither Taiyang nor Qrow talk much about their deceased leader. It also makes clear that whatever schemes Ozpin may have in store, he genuinely cares about his students and want the best for them.
    • Finally, Jaune and Pyrrha become a true couple as they resolve to face Cinder and whatever else Salem throws at them together alongside their friends.
  • Chapter 41:
    • Ruby and Wendy just having a little fun in a karaoke bar. No doubt the two are practically sisters in all but blood.
  • Chapter 42:
    • Jaune encouraging Pyrrha to be by her mother's side and help her through the struggle of either becoming Erza Scarlet again or remaining Scarlet Nikos.
    • Ozpin both praises Jaune for coming so far since the time he was just a guy who had snuck into Beacon with forged transcripts, and encouraging him to go even further by combining his Holy Barrier Magic with his Semblance. The professor is definitely trying not to repeat the mistakes he made with Summer.
    • Pyrrha suggests to her mother that maybe she won't have to choose between either life, but maybe become a combination of both. Erza/Scarlet's bond with her daughter is unquestionable.
    • At chapter's end, despite them not being on the best of terms, Qrow is visibly worried for Raven when she crashes badly injured in front of him.
  • Chapter 44:
    • Ruby takes some time to chat with Sitara, telling her that she could try to find a different goal in her eternal life than just trying to commit suicide by undoing her immortality. She even invites the former princess to Fairy Tail. Sure, it seems in hindsight that Ruby accidentally paved the way for Sitara to become the Salem she is now, but it's still a sweet moment.
    • In his talk with her, Ozpin makes it clear that he doesn't hold any hard feelings towards Raven for her actions. Even when she realizes that she's effectively become the wizard through what she's done, Oz laughingly claims she's nowhere near as bad as he is. He goes on to say she still has a chance to make things right, to stand by what's left of Fairy Tail and her family. Their conversation ends with at least a sense of mutual understanding between the former allies.
      Raven: I'm sorry.
Ozpin: For what? There is a great deal we've covered today.
Raven: For blaming you for her. I understand now, why you hid the truth. It was patronizing, but strategic. An attempt to be kind.
Ozpin: [sighs] Sometimes attempts are the best we can do.
  • Chapter 45:
    • This time, Erza/Scarlet doesn't just see the painful memories locked away within her mind, but the good ones too: being taken in by Makarov, spending time with her beloved guildmates (including the celebration of her being named the Seventh Master of Fairy Tail), a few intimate moments with Jellal... and Pyrrha's birth.
    • After Erza regains her memories thanks to Wendy and Irene's enchantment, she genuinely thanks her mother and is happy to see her despite fighting to the death the last time the saw each other. Irene tears up in happiness herself.
      • It's also easy to miss, but Irene briefly refers to Pyrrha as her "darling granddaughter."
    • Erza and Wendy finally reunite, with an embrace of tears and joy that encompasses all of their affection and happiness of having found each other again.
  • Chapter 48:
    • Oscar describes Ozpin's voice when he sees his old friend Loke as "giddy as a schoolgirl". The old man is very happy to see his old friend again after who knows how long.
    Post-Jin Arc
  • Chapter 56:
    • While mostly Tearjerker, seeing Wendy giving Ozpin the long-needed hug after all he's had to keep secret and suffer for, as well as Loke and Erza preventing Qrow from taking his anger out on Oscar, does put some light back into the narrative.
    • While Emerald and Mercury are still more or less Vitriolic Best Buds, she can't help but be happy for him both recovering from his first death in Hell's Core as well as his reaction to having been regenerated with real legs.
    • In odd way, Summer comforting Cinder over what happened at Haven Academy as well as being denied the Fall Maiden's powers by Salem. Cinder may be a narcissistic sociopath but Summer knows how to reach the wounded and traumatized girl underneath it all and empower her positively. In turn, Cinder adores and looks up to Summer to an almost fanatic extent and though she doesn't admit it, is very happy to have a mother-figure who believes in her no matter what.
    • In a parallel to the Cinder and Summer moment above, we get Erza comforting Ruby over the recent revelations from Jinn. Ruby is struggling to navigate the complexities of their new situation and blaming herself for what she sees as her fault in inspiring Sitara to live back on Earthland. Erza quickly disabuses her of that notion, or that any of the guild would hate Ruby for what had happened.
Ruby: But you guys… you'll never see the guild, or Magnolia, or the others… Pyrrha will never know her father—
Erza: Even if I can't see you, no matter how far away you may be, I will always be watching you. A thousand miles or a thousand years, they're still with us.
      She grabs Ruby's guildmark
Erza: And the guild is not gone. You are just as much Fairy Tail, just as much our family, as anyone from Magnolia.
  • Chapter 62:
    • Cinder is officially adopted by Summer. This means so much to her and she is reassured that Summer will never abandon her and that she loves her as much as Yang and Ruby. Cinder resolves to try and be both smarter and kinder. Regardless of how you may feel about Cinder, it's almost impossible not to feel somewhat happy for her.
    Grimmlands Arc
  • Chapter 65:
    • Summer and End coaxing Salem to put her vendetta against The Gods aside so that the group can target the less powerful Umbral Spirit King as Ruby suggests. Whatever one may feel for Salem and her faction, it is heartwarming to see their genuine Power of Friendship in action, with The Queen's friends helping her rise above her quest for revenge to truly take the best chance at saving the world.
    • Ruby's opinion of Summer rising after witnessing the above moment. She's clearly still torn due to what Summer has done, but the narration notes that there is genuine love in her smile to her mother when the latter leaves to see Raven.
  • Chapter 66:
    • The Team STRQ reunion. Qrow and Raven are both overjoyed to learn that their beloved team leader is still alive. Qrow is happier than he has ever been in either this story or in canon upon learning the truth. He manages to get out of his depression after learning the truth about Ozpin.
    • Cinder shows some serious character growth here. Though it takes a conscious effort on her part, she ignores Mercury's taunts and focuses on her job. Later, she immediately rescues both Emerald and Mercury when the Neo-Hell's Core explodes. It shows that she has taken Summer's words to heart and is trying her best to treat both of them better.
  • Chapter 67:
    • Salem not only saves both Lucy and Loke during the collapse of Castle Evernight but later gives Lucy the Zodiac Keys in her possession and is willing to give them the benefit of the doubt despite the fact that circumstances would strongly indicate that it was Fairy Tail who was responsible for the destruction. This shows just how much Salem trusts and cares for Lucy and the others.
    • Her reasoning for giving Lucy the keys is that the Zodiac warriors would want her to have them. Salem loves and respects her old students so much that she is willing to give a potential opponent a major power boost simply because it is what they would want.
  • Chapter 69:
    • Summer and Yang manage to talk Qrow out of his desire for suicide with the former pointing out that despite his rough background he still has managed to become one of the greatest Huntsman on Remnant. Summer has also for the last decade been looking for semblances that could potentially counter Misfortune.
    • Pyrrha resolves to help get Nora out of her despair, noting how Nora did the same to her. It shows what a strong bond the two females of Team JNPR truly have.
  • Chapter 71:
    • Erza laughs at the idea that Natsu could never surpass her and states that the reason Natsu feared her is that she is his older sister and all little brothers don't want to upset their older sisters.
  • Chapter 74:
    • Although brief, Makarov refers to Pyrrha as his granddaughter.
    • Fairy Tail's farewell party for Ruby is this as a whole, but a few highlights include Gajeel's idea to name his daughter Nashi, after Natsu. And Mira gifting Ruby her newly repaired cloak, complete with a silver Fairy Tail emblem on the back.
Mira (after showing Ruby the addition of a Fariy Tail emblem to her cloak): "Wherever you go, whenever you go, even if we can't see you, no matter how far away you may be..."
Ruby: "You'll be watching over me..."
  • Chapter 75:
    • Ruby has forgiven Weiss. Despite Weiss killing her mother and nearly killing her Ruby decides not to hate her in part because she knows Summer would not want that.
    • Jellal finally meets his daughter Pyrrha. He shows that he is as much a Papa Bear as Erza is a Mama Bear when he uses Sema his most powerful spell to attack Cinder for hurting Pyrrha.
    • Mixed with Tear Jerker, despite everything that is happening and has happened Lucy,Ruby and Salem consider each other to be their friend with Lucy asking what kind of friends they would be if they didn't stand up to Salem if they think she is wrong.
  • Chapter 76:
    • Mercury and Emerald save Cinder from Sema. Despite their recent fight and Emerald giving Cinder a "The Reason You Suck" Speech, they still save her. Cinder starts to truly appreciate them and even gives them a genuine thank you much to their shock.
  • Chapter 77:
    • Despite their battle the Spirit King tells Salem that he will always love her.
    • End and Salem's close friendship is on clear display in this chapter. Salem is completely confident that End would free her if she was trapped via Spirit Slayer Magic. End for his part is so outraged that Lucy brought Salem's own father down to fight her that he goes into his Etherious form.
    • Cinder saves Mercury from a stray blast from the Celestial Spirit King. Cinder states that she doesn't understand the Power of Friendship but she wants to discover it. Mercury, who had been up to that point believed that no one would care about him, believes her.
    • Gray and Erza meet up with Juvia and Jellal. Gray is so happy to see Juvia that he starts to cry.
  • Chapter 78:
    • We see the beginning of Salem and End's close friendship. The two of them did not get off to a good start with End showing no interest in Salem's cause and The Queen at one point threatening to put Natsu back in control of his body. However, Salem soon felt empathy for the demon as she understands End's despair all too well and, remembering Ruby's words to her all those years ago, chooses to give End back his book and decides not to try and force him to work with her despite how vital his powers are to her plan. She even gives him the idea for his new name.
    • We also see in this chapter just how much End truly values his friendship with The Queen. What makes him angrier than ever isn't being called Natsu or E.N.D or being told how similar he is to Natsu. It's Lucy trying to attack Salem that enrages him like nothing else.
  • Chapter 80: A truly heartwarming way to end the first half of the story.
    • Jellal and Erza truly reunite this chapter. Erza is overjoyed to have the love of her life back and reassures Jellal that its not his fault that he couldnt help her raise Pyrrha.
    • Ruby demonstrates that she has become the heart of the New Fairy Tail in addition to the brain. She gives two You Are Better Than You Think You Are talks to both Erza and Weiss. With Erza she tells her that just because she can't fight anymore it doesn't mean mean she can no longer lead. With Weiss while she makes it clear to Weiss that she screwed up badly and let her and Yang down she states that she forgives her and that she still views Weiss as a friend and sister. Weiss is moved to tears.
    • Ruby reads Makarov's letter to Erza where he tells her she truly was like a daughter to him and how much he loved her. He ends by bequeathing her the title of Guild Master of the New Fairy Tail. Erza like Weiss is in tears by the end.
    • Qrow gets Carla back on her feet. While he doesn't deny that Carla made a huge mistake he also states that she has done plenty of good for everyone and without her they would not have made it out of the Grimmlands.
    • Despite losing faith in her friends and growing to hate Weiss passionately Yang still cares about Ruby, Lucy, and Jaune and wont let Cinder hurt any of them.
    • The first half of the story ends with Ruby prepared to give the mark of Fairy Tail to those on their side who don't yet have it. Meaning that Qrow, Nora, Penny, Jellal and Tai are all likely about to become official members of the New Fairy Tail Guild.
