General

  • In the Gryffindor common room, there's a student sleeping on a couch. Hit him with your magic and the couch swallows him up and spits him back out all messed up. The best part is you can then hit him again and to fix him and it counts as rescuing a student in peril, even though you cause the situation in the first place.
  • Various objects, such as street sweepers and plungers, can be ridden. They can also be used to mow people down with wild abandon.
  • In some scenes, the inactive character will cower and look afraid. If it’s Free Play while using a character like Moody or Tom Riddle, it’s more than a little amusing. It’s also possible in Free Play to play as two Harry Potters, or two of any character, at the same time.
  • Speaking of Free Play mode, it's possible to have a team of Bellatrix, Voldemort, and Harry, who will all work together to solve puzzles and fight other Death Eaters. And yes, the player-controlled Voldemort can cast Avada Kedavra at the Player 2 Harry, and the results are exactly as you'd expect.

Philosopher's / Sorcerer's Stone

  • In the books, McGonagall puts letters in eggs. In this version, she puts one in a cuckoo clock, which is seen ringing repeatedly and shoving one of the letters at the screen as if to go "NOTICE ME!"
  • The film version has Dudley panic along with his parents when the Hogwarts letters start pouring into the house. The Lego version has Dudley continue eating, oblivious to the letters flying around his head.
  • In Uncle Vernon's frenzy to escape the Hogwarts letters, he rows a boat so violently across the stormy sea that it bounces off the water's surface.
  • Just as Harry and the Dursleys set down their bags and breathe a sigh of relief at the Hut on the Rock, Hagrid pops up behind them and shouts, startling the Dursleys.
  • Hagrid picks up Harry to show the bank teller at Gringotts. When the teller requests to see Harry's vault key, Hagrid drops Harry before rummaging through his pockets to find the key, which has a keyring of a smaller Harry minifigure wearing the same outfit he currently is.
  • As the bank teller finishes jotting something down and leaves to take Hagrid and Harry to the vaults, the camera angle changes to show that the teller has been working on a childish drawing of a house. Hagrid peeks over the desk to see what the goblin was doing, only to be visibly puzzled.
  • At Gringotts, Griphook accidentally opens the wrong vault, which is full of goblins throwing a party, complete with balloons. Harry and Hagrid start dancing to the pop remix of "Hedwig's Theme" playing within, only for Griphook to slam the vault door shut.
  • When Harry gets his wand, owl and wizard hat, he attempts to look menacing... before he sneezes.
  • Ron's attempt to fix Harry's broken glasses ricochets off several objects before turning a random wizard's hat into a frog.
  • During the Charms lesson, Ron attempts to levitate some bricks, but targets several Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw students by accident. As Ron waves his wand around in an effort to figure out what he's doing wrong, the students start spinning in midair behind him.
  • When Quirrel warns the Great Hall about the troll at Halloween, Draco Malfoy is the first student to scream in panic. Half a second later, the Great Hall breaks out into full scale riot and Dumbledore has to duck to avoid getting hit by objects thrown by panicked students.
  • The mountain troll debuts by leaving a bathroom stall and washing its hands, initially failing to realize Hermione is next to it.
  • A Christmastime Charms class has Professor Flitwick show his students a giant bauble that plays the same pop remix of "Hedwig's Theme" from Gringotts. Ron starts dancing, only to sit down disappointed (and for the music to cut out with a Record Needle Scratch) when he sees that Hermione isn't impressed.
  • The way Quirrelmort trying to find unicorn blood is handled. First, there's a sick unicorn at Hagrid's house. He treats it exactly like a parent would treat a sick child — taking its temperature, making it lie in bed, etc. Then Malfoy is apparently fiddling with some jars outside Hagrid's house, and he's promptly sent flying into the pumpkin patch. Then the sick unicorn runs into the forest, and how is Quirrelmort trying to drink its blood portrayed? Voldemort himself creeps up on the unicorn, with a knife and fork.
    • Hagrid's not only taking its temperature, he's got the thermometer in the wrong way!
  • Ron attempts to make Fluffy fall asleep by playing "Hedwig's Theme" on a trumpet. His playing is so atrocious, it does nothing to calm the dog down and Hermoine eventually slaps the instrument out of his hands.
  • After the first battle with Voldemort's ghost, Harry goes unconscious, leaving him vulnerable to Voldemort, who attempts to grab him...only to find out his hands go right through him. Harry's parents laugh through the Mirror as he does this.
  • Free Play lets players defeat Quirrel-Voldemort as Tom Riddle.

Chamber of Secrets

  • Lucius Malfoy doesn't even try to hide the fact that he's slipped Tom Riddle's diary into Ginny's bag.
  • Dobby sneakingly is shown hiding behind the side of the wall to signify he’s the one that closed the gateway to keep Harry and Ron from boarding the train.
  • After the first DADA lesson with Lockhart, you can go to the Hogwarts grounds to find him being chased by fangirls.
  • Once you learn how to deal with pixies, you can use the things they were holding. One of them is a pumpkin with spinning leaves that can be worn to fly around the area like a helicopter.
  • When Ron and Harry come across the trail of spiders before seeing the petrified Mrs Norris, some of the spiders are carrying suitcases. One of them is even carrying a picnic basket.
  • Harry and Ron ingest the Polyjuice potion to get into the Slytherin common room. In the movie, they obviously morph into their counterparts. How is it handled in the game? They just have Crabbe and Goyle's hair balanced pathetically on their heads, providing the very definition of a Paper-Thin Disguise. And despite this scene partially falling to the logic of the LEGO universe, Hermione still turns into a cat. And can be unlocked as an optional playable character.
  • Ginny Weasley discovering that moving Riddle's diary makes Riddle himself move. She then proceeds to shake the diary, causing Riddle to go flying around the chamber, even repeatedly smacking it against her forehead, until Harry snatches the diary from her in irritation.
  • The gag from the movie of Crabbe almost standing up to applaud Hagrid's return is made even funnier in this version: he actually fully stands up and claps before Draco notices and punches him in the face, knocking him to the floor.

Prisoner of Azkaban

  • Aunt Marge's inflation has an even funnier touch to it: when she fully blows up into a balloon, she floats to Vernon's fork, sending her flying across the entire house.

Goblet of Fire

  • During the graveyard scene/revival ritual in Goblet of Fire, Voldemort is there...as a baby in a pram, sucking on a pacifier.
  • When Harry returns from the graveyard with Cedric's dead body, Amos Diggory is upset... until Dumbledore hands him a LEGO instruction sheet on how to rebuild a minifigure. As a Brick Joke, at the beginning of Year 5, a photo in the Daily Prophet shows Cedric's pieces clumsily shoved into the Triwizard Cup, implying that Amos couldn't figure out the (incredibly simple) instructions and just gave up out of frustration.

Order of the Phoenix

  • Almost everyone falls asleep during Umbridge's speech at the start-of-year feast. Including Dumbledore.
  • In one segment, you can host a puppet show as part of a puzzle.
  • In the Hog's Head, you can make a painting off Harry in the Chamber of Secrets. After making sure the basilisk is dead, Painting!Harry poses inside its mouth.
  • Cho Chang growls at Ginny, seeing her as competition for Harry's attention.
  • At Grimmauld Place, Kreacher animates a suit of armor to block the stairs. It's smashed to pieces with a single spell.
  • In the movies and books, Umbridge is overwhelmed pretty quickly by the centaurs. In the game, she busts out some ninja flips. It's doubly funny if you're a fan of A Very Potter Musical.
  • The prophecy is portrayed as Harry and Voldemort fighting over a one-up heart.
  • As Sirius falls through the veil, Harry grabs onto his leg to pull him back, and since he's a Lego figure his legs simply detach.
    • And after Harry angrily runs after Bellatrix, Sirius' top half floats back through the veil to ask Lupin to reattach his legs.
  • When Harry knocks Bellatrix down with a spell, Voldemort apparates in front of her causing Harry to run smack into him.
  • Harry and Dumbledore defeat Voldemort's giant fire snake by activating the Ministry's emergency sprinkler system.
  • Voldemort's glass shards turn to sand when they fly through Dumbledore's shield just like in the movie, but this time Harry uses the sand to build sand castles (which he throws at Voldemort).

Half-Blood Prince

  • During the cutscene showing Bellatrix and Narcissa visiting Snape regarding the plan to kill Dumbledore, Narcissa pulls out a LEGO instruction booklet showing how the plan is supposed to go down; she then makes puppy dog eyes at Snape to try to convince him to take Draco's place in the plan. Meanwhile, Bellatrix can be seen stealing Snape's stuff in the background.
  • At Slughorn's house, Harry is shocked to see a photograph of Tom Riddle in Slughorn's collection, just like the book and movie. Unlike the book and movie, the photograph of Tom Riddle is just as shocked to see Harry.
  • Take a close look during the scene where Snape finds out he will be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts this year. He fist-pumps with excitement!
  • After Harry and Ron fight each other for the Half Blood Prince's potion book, Harry takes it back to his desk to open it. Ron starts walking casually up behind him, and Harry donkey-kicks him out of the frame.
  • At the Three Broomsticks, Slughorn gives invitations to his Christmas party to Harry and Hermione. He has a third one he could give to Ron, but uncomfortably pats him on the head instead.
  • At the end of Aragog's funeral, Harry for some reason decides to bury Aragog by himself, without magic. He completely tears Aragog's body apart in the process, causing Hagrid to faint and crush Slughorn.
  • Harry and Dumbledore cross the underground lake to the Horcrux in a bright yellow paddleboat.
  • When Dumbledore is disarmed by Draco, his cursed hand falls off and when he dies and falls off the tower, it waves as he goes down.

Deathly Hallows

  • Since Voldemort appears to have mastered the Elder Wand in-game, guess why Voldemort killed Snape this time? He ate the last cookie!
  • In "The Flaw in the Plan", when Harry and Voldemort fall from one of the towers and land in the courtyard, Harry's glasses end up on Voldemort's face, and he politely hands them back before they start dueling!
