Les Derniers Hommes (French for The Last Men) is a 2024 French war film directed by David Oelhoffen.

On March 9, 1945, the Imperial Japanese army attacks and overruns French Indochina by surprise. Instead of surrendering, 19 soldiers of the French Foreign Legion decide to go on a perilous 200 kilometers journey on foot to the next Allied base.

The film was released on February 21, 2024.

This film provides examples of the following tropes:

  • The Alcoholic: Some of the Foreign Legion soldiers are alcoholic.
  • Jungle Warfare: The Foreign Legion soldiers have to cross a lot of jungle, and more than once under enemy fire.
  • The Last Title: The title means "The Last Men".
  • Legion of Lost Souls: The film is about soldiers of the French Foreign Legion in Indochina (Vietnam) in the last days of World War II.
  • Suicide Mission: The voiceover mentions that the chances the group of Legion soldiers has to cross the 200 kilometers on foot alive is "close to nil".
  • Tagline: "Indochina, 1945. Here, it is Nature that's in command."
