Film / Chucky's Vacation Slides

Go To

Chucky's Vacation Slides is a 2004 short film starring Chucky the killer doll from the Child's Play film series. It is a tie-in to the 2004 film Seed of Chucky as the dolls used in this movie were the ones used for this short film.

Recap

Chucky is having to watch a slideshow presentation of his vacation with Tiffany and Glen despite him stating he doesn't want to sit through it. As Tiffany and Glen are going through it, they find that Chucky has murdered some (or rather, several) people getting Tiffany angry and Glen appalled. Glen eventually walks away in disgust, Tiffany goes to check on him and Chucky having ordered a pizza goes to hack the pizza delivery man before asking Tiffany if she knows where the twine is.

Tropes

  • Big Applesauce: The family vacationed in New York City before and enjoyed their vacations... for different reasons.
  • Breaking the Fourth Wall: Chucky and Tiff address the viewer as "people" at the beginning. Tiffany then suggests that Seed was all just a movie in the universe of this short film even if the three dolls all have the same personality traits as in Seed especially what with Chucky still killing people wherever he goes.
  • Brick Joke: The ball of twine.
  • Comically Missing the Point: As Glen walks off from the vacation slideshow disgusted by Chucky's murders in it, Chucky deduces "Too many pork rinds".
  • Creator Cameo: Don Mancini appears in a slide and Tiffany comments, "Oh look! It's Donny!"
  • Failed a Spot Check: Tiffany didn't seem to notice the man Chucky killed by hanging with rope from the Seattle Space Needle.
  • How Did That Get in There?: Chucky did not intend to get his murders exposed on the vacation slides but it turns out he's so sloppy at covering up his tracks that Tiffany and Glen end up seeing that he turned their vacation into a killing spree and the two - especially Tiff- lash out at him for this.
  • Never My Fault: Chucky keeps rationalizing his killing spree when Tiffany denigrates him for this, at one point saying, "I was on vacation!" or "Not my fault! The city [San Francisco]'s FULL of deadheads!"
  • Noodle Incident: Chucky complains he hates taxi drivers for some reason.
  • Killed Offscreen: All of Chucky's victims, while the pizza guy can be heard getting hacked to death.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: Tiffany and Glen(da) when they decide the vacation slideshow has too much gore and blood for them to watch and enjoy. Even Chucky expresses repugnance for the slideshow and falls asleep at one point but Tiff slaps him to wake up, but ironically he's the last one to exit.
  • The Snack Is More Interesting: Chucky is more interested in getting pork rinds and a pizza than sitting through the vacation slides. Though the ensuing TV series suggests Chucky was not so much interested in the pizza so much as getting the opportunity to butcher another pizza delivery boy.
  • Villains Out Shopping: Averted. Chucky did not take a break from serial killing just because he went on a family vacation.
  • World Tour: The family went around numerous landmarks across the United States but Chucky ruined their vacation slides by failing to cover up his murders.
