Abandoned Mine (alternate title: The Mine) is a Horror Movie by Jeff Chamberlain.

Brad (Reilly McClendon) is a teenager in a small town who's invited his friends Jimmy (Adam Hendershott), Laurie (Saige Thompson), and Sharon (Alexa PenaVega) to spend Halloween Night with him on a special trip. One of them also invites along an Indian boy who just has them call him "Ethan" (Charan Prabhakar), and the three head over to what they find out is the Jarvis Mine, an old mine where, a century ago, the workers had the owner and his daughters Buried Alive in the mine so his business partners could get the huge gold vein found there.

Supposedly, the mine is haunted by the ghosts of Jarvis and his two daughters, who want freedom from their prison. None of them believe the haunting is true though, but are reluctant to actually go inside the mine... until it starts raining.

Now inside the mine, the gang must find a way out before the Jarvises find them.

The movie was released on September 13th, 2012.

Abandoned Mine contains examples of:

  • Abandoned Mine: The main setting of the movie is the Jarvis Mine.
  • Accidental Murder: Laurie, while out of her mind from her experience in the mine, hears Brad carrying Sharon. She mistakes it for Jarvis, grabs a long thin object, and then attacks him with it when he comes around the corner.
  • Ankle Drag: When the group's been whittled down to Laurie, Sharon, and Ethan, Sharon starts stating that there's something in the mine with them. Then she starts getting dragged off by some unseen force. Said "unseen force" was a rope that Brad tied around her ankle.
  • Bat Scare: At one point, while the group (sans Jimmy) are crawling through a small tunnel, they end up disturbing a horde of bats, sending them flying right through them.
  • Costume-Test Montage: Laurie and Sharon are shown in a montage near the start of the movie trying on different costumes to "Crazy Over You" by XOCH.
  • Noodle Incident: Near the beginning of the movie, Laurie pranks Sharon to get back at her for "the dead skunk thing".
  • Off with His Head!: When she and Ethan get to the bottom of the mine, Laurie bites the head off a rat.
  • The Reveal: All the scary stuff and death that the group's been encountering in the mine is all one great big prank set up by Brad.
  • Sanity Slippage: Laurie seems to suffer from this late in the movie, saying the mine is actually a giant monster, and they're in its digestive system, likening the various caverns they've been in to its organs.
  • Token Minority: Ethan is the sole non-white character in the whole movie.
