The Zootopia Files is a fanfiction series based off of the movie Zootopia. That starts shortly after the end of the first movie... and things get rather crazy from there on out, as Nick and Judy encounter all sorts of weird cases and mammals alike, and unexpected twists and turns along the way.

Zootopia Files provides examples of:
- Big Sister Instinct: A rule of thumb, NEVER, put Davies Hopps in harm's way, or willfully bully him. Because Judy can and will go on the warpath to make you pay.
- Bunnies for Cuteness: Judy is part of the main cast... and she's just the tip of the iceberg.
- Interspecies Romance: Several chapters in, Nick and Judy start officially dating. By Chapter 25, they've tied the knot.
- Kid from the Future: Pandora Wilde-Hopps, Nick and Judy's hybrid daughter from the future often shows up in the present. Mostly for study, but she helps maintain their timeline.
- Official Couple: Nick and Judy.
- Omnidisciplinary Scientist: Largely averted, as while Dr. Mulerson wants to turn all non-mules into robots, he's a geneticist. This is why he had Selene Samuel create the nanobots.
- Our Vampires Are Different: For one thing, they don't die in direct sunlight, but they do become hideously burned unless provided with sufficient shade, or magical sunscreen that can protect them.

- Chapter 2: The title of the chapter itself is a reference to Interview with the Vampire.
- Chapter 4: The plot of the entire chapter and its title is a shoutout to Die Hard.
- Chapter 5: Spider-Ham... what else can be said?
- Chapter 6: One part Jurassic World, one part Team Fortress 2.
- Chapter 7: Milo Murphy's Law ...enforcement.
- Chapter 9-10: The characters of Thumb and Cranium are expies of Pinky and the Brain
- Chapter 11: Pandora intended to go back in time to find the original lost episodes of Doctor Howl, a reference to Doctor Who and its infamous lost episodes.
- Chapter 12: One of the criminals that break Dawn out of prison is a bear with the same speech impediment as Sesame Street character, Baby Bear, even coming from a crime family based on the Three Bears, and the Bearenstain Bears.
- Chapter 14-15: Scott Pilgrim Vs.The World.
- Time Machine: The Time and Space Distortion Device, or TSDD can travel through time, and do so much more.
- Unwilling Roboticization: To Sally and Selene Samuel by Dr. Mullerson. As well as Judy.
- Who Wants to Live Forever?: In chapter fifty, Anna uses a vaccine for her Vampirism to live as a mortal with Davies.
