Transfer Student
is a fanfiction of Worm by Segev.
A middle schooler from Earth Aleph named Omar Avignon finds himself in Earth Bet, able to rescue Taylor from the locker but too late to prevent her from Triggering. The PRT show up, confiscate his Aleph smartphone for being "Tinkertech", and have him driven over to PHQ. Panicking over nobody believing him and he feels so useless, he Triggers as a Thinker (with a Tinker specialty) on the way there. After this happens, he winds up in the Wards.

This fanfic contains examples of the following:
- Abusive Parents: Omar is heavily implied to have been at least one abusive family, based on his thoughts of being "at the mercy of whoever was forced to be responsible for me, unless I had something to offer." It results in him being Afraid of Needles and a fear of anesthesia.
- Adults Are Useless: As true on Aleph as they are on Bet, in Omar's case. It results in Omar having a Trigger Event while riding in a car with Miss Militia.
- Brutally Honest: Armsmaster comes across as this.
- Despair Event Horizon: Omar has one when he sees Adults Are Useless, he thinks he's just as useless, and nobody is believing him. It results in him Triggering while riding with Miss Militia.
- Determinator: Omar's foster family refuses to give up looking for him in Earth Bet, even after Dragon keeps banning them from PHO.
- Four Is Death: Non-Literal example- any hope Omar has of being a normal kid dies when he Triggers in chapter four.
- Innocently Insensitive: Played for Drama.
- The PRT don't believe Omar when he says he's not a Tinker, despite his electric wand and his smartphone. It contributes to Omar's Trigger Event.
- I Will Find You: Jag, a member of Omar's foster-family, keeps trying to reconnect with him despite Dragon attemping otherwise.
- Obstructive Bureaucrat: Dragon turns out to be this when Jag tries to reconnect with Omar on PHO.
- Oh, Crap!:
- Omar when the PRT refuse to believe he's not a Tinker. It contributes to his Trigger Event.
- Omar again when Sophia pulls him through a wall into the girls's shower room.
- The prospect of being given sedatives and painkillers causes Omar to have this reaction, compounded when Armsmaster only sees him lying but doesn't understand why.
- Parental Substitute: Miss Militia becomes one for Omar.
- Skip the Anesthetic: Omar attempts this out of fear of being useless. It only results in Armsmaster getting angry for lying.
- Trauma Button: Anything that makes Omar feel useless is this. Armsmaster mashes it when he doesn't understand why Omar is afraid of anesthetic and disciplines him instead.
