Pomegranate Seeds is a Danny Phantom and Batman crossover story.

When on patrol, Red Hood is captured by cultish scientists, who plan to use him as a Human Sacrifice for a powerful ghost due to how he's returned from the dead. Luckily, the ghost (Clockwork) manages to reverse the summoning and pull Jason to him instead. Then he's offered a deal by his rescuer; help Jazz Fenton find and rescue her siblings, one of which was forced into helping aforementioned scientists capture him, and he'll get a favor from a being with power over time. Given that he would have accepted even without said favor being offered, he agrees, and the adventure begins.

  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: Although there are complexities that humans tend to miss, ghostly communities are usually led by the strongest member.
  • Comically Small Bribe: A Guys in White scientist tries to use Jason (who they can tell has been revived) as a Human Sacrifice to summon Clockwork, hoping to pry information out of the ghost of Time. While it technically works, with Clockwork spiriting Jason away to the Ghost Zone and safety, he tells Jason later that an apple pie would have worked as a sacrifice. Apparently they didn't read the book carefully, since according to Clockwork it said as much.
  • Deal with the Devil: Referenced mentally by Jason when Clockwork offers him a favor in exchange for helping Jazz rescue Danny and Elle, though it's probably closer to a Bargain with Heaven.
  • Drives Like Crazy: While Jazz can drive normally, when needed she can drive at speeds that even Jason, no stranger to crazy driving himself, is taken aback by.
  • God's Hands Are Tied: Clockwork is implied to be limited in what he can directly do to help Jazz find the missing Danny and Elle due to the nature of his role, hence his deal with Jason to help assist Jazz in exchange for a boon. Jazz notes that such a favor is fairly unusual for him, and that the fact that she was able to find him at all is a good sign, as Clockwork is the type to simply not let you find him if he can't do something to help.
  • Hidden Agenda Villain: What exactly the Guys in White are planning is unclear. They still hate ghosts as much as ever, but the specifics of their plot this time around have yet to be revealed, like why they wanted the portal gun instead of having Phantom make them a new one.
  • The Mole: Valerie has managed to infiltrate the Guys in White.
  • Myopic Architecture: The Guys in White have some impressive security measures... against ghosts. As Batman shows though, humans aren't affected by them at all, allowing him to quickly infiltrate their Gotham base without any of them being the wiser. They don't even have security cameras or locked doors, just ectoplasm sensors and ghost-shield gates.
  • Reluctant Ruler: It's noted by Skulker that Danny is utterly refusing to be named the Ghost King despite what the Observants are planning, since he just wants to help humans and ghosts and doesn't think that he needs a title to do it.
  • Shock Collar: The only reason why the Guys in White could restrain Banshee and order her around is because they managed to get one on her.
  • Super-Scream: Besides Danny's canonical Ghostly Wail, Elle/Banshee has several different sonic abilities she can use, like one that acts as a kind of EMP, hence her choice of name in ghost form.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Apparently Clockwork loves apple pie.
  • Worf Had the Flu: Part of why an unwilling Banshee captured Red Hood so easily is that he both had no idea what she could do and that he could tell that she was unwilling and didn't want to hurt her.
