Once Lost Now Found by FreckledAvenger11 is a fan fiction where Peter Parker notices how much the pictures of him at the age of three look like what Tony Stark's missing and presumed dead son Anthony Edward Stark, Jr. aka TJ. The story starts months before the events of and covers Captain America: Civil War.

Once Lost Now Found contains examples of:

  • Brought Down to Normal: The sedative HYDRA used on the Winter Soliders has this effect if given a large enough dose. Peter was given it when kidnapped during the fight at the airport in Berlin. It takes several days for him to regain his powers.
  • Celebrity Resemblance: Peter notices how much his three year old self looks like Tony's missing and presumed dead son. Turns out they are the same person.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: After Peter and Tony have spent three months basically dancing around the issue of their real relationship, the day after Tony learns the truth, he ends up introducing Peter to the other Avengers, and Natasha, Vision and Wanda all "recognise" Peter as Tony's son; Natasha and Vision spotted the visual similarities between the two and Wanda sensed the thought of their relationship in their minds. Peter is particularly bemused at the idea that he and Tony spent ages working out the truth when the Avengers realised it in seconds.
  • Death Faked for You: When Peter was a toddler, his kidnappers made it look like they put him in a bag and downed him out at sea.
  • Dramatic Irony: After secretly viewing the security camera footage of Tony's lab, Rhodey tells Tony Peter has become a Replacement Goldfish for TJ unaware that Peter and TJ are the same person.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: Tony does not find Peter pretending to fall of a building while testing his new Spider-Man suit funny.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: Comes up for various active and deceased villains;
    • Obadiah Stane had planned to have TJ and Jenny (Tony's then-lover and Peter's mother) abducted and then stage their deaths to make it look like Tony at least arranged for their disappearances, but Stane underestimated Jenny's determination to protect her son. As a result, Jenny was killed during the home invasion, at a time when Tony was known to be at a meeting and before Stane could plant any evidence that Tony was responsible for anything, preventing the planned frame from being practical.
    • While moving BARF to Tony's lab, Beck suggests to Peter that the drones and BARF could be used to basically create the illusion that the Avengers are dealing with a threat when they’re actually relaxing elsewhere, the older man showing no sign that he understands why the Avengers would never do such a thing.
  • For Want Of A Nail: Having to rescue Peter from the re-brainwashed Bucky in Siberia gives Steve and Tony a reason to team up rather than fight.
  • History Repeats: During the press conference at the end of the story where Tony announces that Peter is his missing and presumed dead son, a reporter manipulates things into a conversation about the lack of Spider-Man sightings since the 'Avenger Civil War' and insinuates that Tony is covering up Spider-Man's death. Peter ends up admitting to being Spider-Man.
"The truth is…" Peter said, a smile playing on his lips as his eyes twinkled mischievously. "I am Spider-Man."
  • Little Stowaway: Peter stows away on the quinjet so he could join Tony, Rhodey, Natasha and Vision for the fight at the airport in Berlin. He is discovered while on route. Tony is not happy.
  • Mistaken for Pedophile: A reporter at the press conference the story ends with implies Tony is a pedophile by twisting his words about why he decided to meet Peter after learning Peter had used a fake ID to apply for an internship at Stark Industries.
  • Never Tell Me the Odds!: Tony shouts this at Vision in chapter 12.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Zemo is contacted by Quentin Beck with the goal of targeting Peter as part of their mutual revenge on the Avengers, capturing Peter with the goal of triggering Bucky to kill Spider-Man in the bunker after Steve, Tony and Bucky arrive. Despite Tony also learning about Bucky's role in his parents' deaths, this new attack prompts Tony to focus more on preventing a new tragedy rather than lashing out at Bucky about past actions, giving Tony and Steve a chance to get past the worst of their issues after Peter has been taken to Wakanda for treatment.
  • Only Sane Man: May's private thoughts reveal that Ben was that of the Parker household.
  • Out-of-Character Alert: In Berlin after Peter is out of the fight, even though his Spider-Sense is telling him he's in danger he only starts to suspect something is wrong when Tony calls him Parker. Turns out Beck was using BARF to impersonate Tony while the real Tony was still fighting.
  • Sensory Overload: Peter experiences this when he regains his powers after loosing them for several days.
  • Spelling for Emphasis: Tony does this when he fires Beck in chapter 10.
  • Tempting Fate: In chapter 11, after Peter finds out Pepper told Rhodey he's Spider-Man, Peter comments at the rate things are going, he might as well announce he's Spider-Man to a room full of reporters. Come the epilogue when a reporter at the press conference insinuates Tony is covering up Spider-Man's death...
  • What Have I Done: May's reaction to realizing that she had talked Peter and Ned into Peter impersonating a college student to get an internship at Stark Industries.
  • Wouldn't Hurt a Child: The kidnappers Obadiah Stane hired to kill the young Peter decided to mislead everyone and gave him a new identity as the son of Richard and Mary Parker.
