Moving Forward Towards Tomorrow is a The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Star Wars crossover, where Calamity Ganon's awakening is noticed by the Jedi.

The Calamity is a force of unspeakable evil and hatred. It is raw, unfocused Malice. When it broke free from its seal, it was felt all across Hyrule...

...and beyond. So very far, far away.

This fanfic contains examples of:

  • Absence of Evidence: One of the things that strikes the first Jedi to enter Dinra's star system is that the planet that would come to be named Dinra is the only planet there, with an asteroid belt a lot further out, when most star systems have at least six planets, even if only one or two are usually habitable.
  • Be Careful What You Wish For: Like everyone who comes to Dinra, Ahsoka wished for adventure. She got it.
  • Big Damn Heroes: The Jedi team that arrives on Dinra does this multiple times, saving Mipha and Revali's lives.
  • The Chosen Many: Mentally lampshaded by Rhoam when considering Ahsoka's involvement in things, remembering how some previous incarnations of Link had companions other than Zelda, like how the Hero of Winds had several.
  • Dungeon Bypass: Ahsoka's Force abilities allow her to do this a few times in the Bomb Trial, prompting Link to call it "cheating", which she objects to because she worked hard to get as good as she is. Ja Baij himself isn't mad, finding it interesting to see solutions that he hadn't considered when making the trial.
  • For Want Of A Nail: The Jedi sensing the Calamity/Malice breaking free of its bindings allows them to arrive in time to prevent some of the damage and save some Mipha and Revali.
  • Giving Up on Logic: Ahsoka starts to do this fairly quickly regarding Dinra's weirdness. The particular point where it starts is when she encounters a spot where the temperature drops 30 degrees in less than three meters for no apparent reason.
  • Hammerspace: One of the things that Ahsoka notices about Link is that his pockets are seemingly Bigger on the Inside, holding a ridiculously large amount of weapons and supplies.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite the Jedi's arrival, Link is still injured and Zelda still seals herself away to stop the Calamity's rampage. Urbosa and Daruk also still die.
  • Internal Reveal: Rhoam tells both Link and Ashoka about Calamity Ganon and Zelda, etc., in "Awakenings 2.6".
  • Invisible to Normals: Koroks can hide from most people, though children sometimes can see them. Even Force-Sensitives have trouble seeing them as more than a glimpse in the corner of their eyes. Link, interestingly, can see them fine, but when he and Ahsoka find one, even when he guides her into touching it, she still doesn't see it immediately.
  • It Gets Easier: Link tells Ahsoka this after she's forced to kill a Bokoblin in self-defense. She's not really sure that that's a good thing.
  • Loads and Loads of Races: It's notable even In-Universe that Dinra has the most native sapient races from a single planet ever, and that's not even getting into near-sapient species like Helmarocs.
  • Long-Lived: Zora, as in canon, can live for 200 years or more easily.
  • Meaningful Name: Hyrule's planet is named "Dinra" after the goddess Din, who in ancient legends created the land of the planet.
  • Medieval Stasis: Lampshaded by Ahsoka when she notes that the similarities between two bows means that, unless the Bokoblins that they took the second bow from got it from a millennia-old shrine like the one they got the first from, the manufacturing process hadn't changed in ages.
  • Monster Progenitor: According to legend, the Wolfos are descended from the Hero Of Twilight, and before him were considered a "monster" race like the Blins.
  • Mythology Gag: There are numerous legends, ruins, and other references from previous Zelda games.
  • My Significance Sense Is Tingling: The Calamity's sheer hatred allows Jedi across the galaxy to feel it. As well as the Sith... They feel it again when it begins breaking free once more.
  • Outliving One's Offspring: Revali is 118 years old when Link awakens, and has outlived all but one of his children. In fact, he's pretty sure that the only reason that he's still going despite Rito not being meant to live so long is because he's that determined not to let Link "beat" him.
  • Ragnarök Proofing: There are several locations from previous Zelda games that are still relatively intact despite the thousands of years since they were last maintained. The Clock Tower in Termina is actually still working, despite Clock Town having fallen to ruin around it, to name one example. This is noted by visitors multiple times.
  • Spared By Adaptation: Revali and Mipha are rescued thanks to the intervention of the Jedi, and they're still alive 100 years later when Link returns.
  • Spotting the Thread: Ahsoka starts realizing that there's something up with Rhoam when she realizes that there's nowhere for him to have glided down with his paraglider from after she and Link emerge from the Bomb trial.
  • Time Dissonance: In a sidestory chapter, Sidon, being a Zora, can live for more than 200 years. Thus, when Palpatine points out that he's not a "new" Supreme Chancellor after being in office for nine years already, he seems genuinely surprised, calling it "no time at all". This comes up because Sidon heard of a tradition that had fallen out of practice from the previous Chancellor, Valvorum, who is a friend of Sidon's, that it's customary to give the new Chancellor a gift. It's unclear whether or not the Korok that ended up hitching a ride on that gift was intentional or not, but in any case, Darth Sidious is going to have an... interesting time of it.
  • Time Skip: The story skips from Calamity Ganon's sealing to 100 years later to the Clone Wars.
  • Wrong Context Magic: Dinra's, well, magic, which is distinct from the Force the Jedi and Sith use, though not entirely unconnected.
