Lunches at Anakin's
by Riftwalker (Firejay112) is a Star Wars fanfiction where Anakin Skywalker survives what is originally his death and ends up living in Tatooine for a while, before being discovered by Luke Skywalker.
Lunches at Anakin's provides examples of:
- Ace Pilot: Like in canon, both Anakin and Luke are examples of this.
- All of the Other Reindeer: Though initially, Ryee is bullied not for being different, after she lashes out with the Force, the other kids start making fun of her for this.
- Anti-Hero: Anakin is an example of this. He is unwilling to teach Ryee about the Force, as well as other heroic actions, but ends up helping anyway.
- The Atoner: Anakin once committed horrible crimes in the past, such as slaughtering different groups of people without mercy for any or (helping) oppress an entire galaxy, so for a great amount of the fic he is trying to make peace with and atone for these crimes.
- Back from the Dead: The whole premise of the fic. Anakin is killed aboard the Death Star, but wakes up on Tatooine not soon after alive.
- Born into Slavery: Anakin was born into slavery as her mother was a slave, but got freed as a child.
- The Bully: Kit starts out as this for Ryee, but later is subverted.
- The Chosen One: Anakin is the Chosen One like in canon.
- The Redeemer: Like in canon, Luke helps redeem his father, and is there with him for the journey.
- Reformed Bully: As mentioned, Kit once made fun of Ryee for being different, but later becomes friendly after he admits that he does this because he wants to be like his father.
- Retired Badass: Anakin is one in the beginning, working as a mechanic exiled on Tatooine when he used to be the feared and ass-kicking Darth Vader.
- The Reveal: There are multiple examples of this, like when Luke travels to Tatooine to uncover who has been sending him vague messages, it turns out to be is thought-to-be-dead father. At the end, Anakin reveals (dramatically) to the unknowing citizens and Imperial garrison of Tatooine that he is actually Darth Vader.
- Slave Liberation: Anakin frees Ryee's family and fellow slaves from their master by killing him.
- Slavery Is a Special Kind of Evil: The event that kick off the story is that Ryee gets lost and receives help from Anakin, and on the way of guiding the child back, Anakin, who was a mass murderer and oppressor, finds out that Ryee is a slave and kills the slaver when they go back.
- Switching P.O.V.: Like most other fanfiction, the author uses the point-of-views of different characters for each chapter.
