Issei only wanted to live a normal life and trying to bring his dream in having a harem to be a reality. Unfortunately, fate had other plans.
On one day, during a trip to a museum, he walked into the Egyptian exhibit where he found the section containing the relics and tomes of the Goddess, Khepri. There, he would be chosen by Khepri and became her champion, the Blue Beetle.
Now, Issei had to deal with the likes of Devils, Angels, Fallen Angels along with protecting a classmate of his who possesses the ability to bring about the apocalypse.

- Papa Wolf: Constantine makes it CLEAR to Issei if he continues to act like a pervert around Zatanna, he's going to torture him, including resorting to castration.
- Scarab Power: Issei is bestowed the power of the Scarab, a Sacred Gear that's implied to rival even the Boosted Gear and Divine Dividing. With it, Issei can conjure a multitude of weapons and gadgetry to battle enemies.
- Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Both Issei and the Scarab don't like one another with Issei nearly ready to rip it off his spine while the Scarab would let anyone kill Issei so that it'll be free. Though, the two come to develop begrudging respect for one another.
- Uncool Undies: Issei's pals accidentally pull his pants revealing to the entire school that he's wearing pink bear underwear.
- World's Strongest Man: Constantine is undoubtedly the most powerful human on Earth with the Devils, Angels and Fallen Angels not taking him lightly.
