The main character (named Matthew here) is an ordinary delivery person who goes to Fenix Corporation for his day on the job to make a delivery. However, things get weird very quickly when the security guards are killed and a fire starts spreading, and now Matthew has to navigate this crisis along with four other people.

- The protagonist Matthew goes from The Hero of the original game to one of the hidden antagonists of the fic, being a secret Professional Killer.
- Lionel is only Ambiguously Evil in the original, shady but also reasonable and sensible. Here, he's the undisputed Big Bad of the story, responsible for hiring Matthew, setting his own company on fire and killing the security guards, just to get back at Christina for planning revenge on him.
- There's no indication in the game that Christina's father did anything illegal. He's made into the Greater-Scope Villain here.
- Ascended Extra: Christina's father goes from an Ambiguously Absent Parent to an integral figure in this story.
- Big Bad: Lionel is responsible for everything bad happening, as opposed to Christina.
- Big Bad Wannabe: Christina never gets to execute her plans in the source material, because someone more dangerous did it first...
- The Dragon: Matthew turns out to be this to Lionel.
- Dragon-in-Chief: Matthew proves to be much more dangerous and unwilling to keep promises, thus leading to Lionel's downfall at his hands.
- Foreshadowing: Upon meeting Lionel, Matthew calls him by his first name, despite apparently meeting him for the first time. Turns out they're in cahoots with each other and planning something sinister.
- Greater-Scope Villain: Christina's father set the plot in motion when he talked with Matthew prior about what happened to his wife and asked him to get revenge on Fenix Corporation. Matthew then decided he would pretend to work for Lionel, eliminate Christina and get paid for that, then get the paycheck for killing Lionel as well.
- The Heavy: Matthew is the active antagonist who's going off the orders of Lionel.
- I Have Your Wife: Matthew captures Steve to lure Christina into a trap.

- Opportunistic Bastard: Matthew took advantage of Lionel coincidentally asking him to kill Christina shortly after her father asked him to kill Lionel to get more money.
- The Starscream: Matthew ends up betraying the deal with Lionel to strike off on his own.
