Val McLane, born Valerie Bradford, (25 February 1943), is a British actress best known for playing Norma Patterson in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet.
While she completed a postgraduate teaching diploma and taught at St. Joseph's RC Grammar Technical School from 1965 to 1971, she went on to complete a part-time Drama in Education course. She made her TV acting debut in a 1976 episode of When the Boat Comes In.
McLane's brother is Jimmy Nail, best known for playing Oz in Auf Wiedersehen, Pet. She appeared alongside him in over half of Series 2; Caroline Hutchison (who played Dennis' wife, Vera) was too ill from cancer to return to the series, so McLane was added to the scripts at the last minute as Dennis' sister, Norma.
Other series where McLane had recurring roles include Brookside and Our Friends in the North. Since the 2000s, she has only appeared in films including Purely Belter and The Duke.
