Harley Cubberley is an Anglo-Irish actress and artist.

She is best known for her roles in the films Disembodied Hitman, Takbir, Mr Peterson and Scarlet, particularly in the horror genre.

Tropes associated with her work:

  • Actor-Inspired Element:invoked She designed her own makeup for her scene in Disembodied Hitman, feeling that the running mascara would look very striking on camera.
  • Awesome, Dear Boy:invoked
    • She took the small role of Bonnie Clyde in Mr Peterson because it was a chance to play a murderer rather than a victim (see below).
    • She starred in the film Bronach because it was an excuse to dress like a Goth.
  • The Cast Show Off:invoked
    • She sings in Wolf at the Crossroads.
    • For the music video "Don't Go" for The Answers in Between, she had to draw a portrait of her co-star live on camera.
  • Chronically Killed Actor: Often plays a murder victim who dies horribly. Even in Scarlet, the titular vampire declares that she'll kill Denise after the credits roll.
  • Creator-Chosen Casting:invoked The 'Hot Babe' role in the Fatal Deviation parody Deadly Divergence was written for her.
  • Dyeing for Your Art:invoked In Undying Heart, she had to perform a zombie fight scene while wearing white contacts that impaired her vision.
  • Fake American:invoked In a film called The Getaway.
  • Funny Character, Boring Actor:invoked Inverted. She identifies as a Perky Goth in real life and finds it strange wearing "normal person clothes" for a lot of her roles.
  • Looping Lines:invoked While editing Deadly Divergence it was decided that the Gory Discretion Shot of her beating up Callum Meylart should have a series of Pre Ass Kicking One Liners, and she improvised something that was then dubbed over.
  • Mistaken Nationality: She's often mistaken for Australian.
  • Never Work with Children or Animals:invoked In the horror film Worms, she had to film scenes in a bed with live maggots.
  • Playing Against Type:invoked In The Casting Man, she plays a moody actress known for nudity that drops the C bomb.
  • Production Posse:invoked She's been directed by Sean Brien in Takbir, Scarlet and Wolf at the Crossroads. All three films were produced by Greg Young, who also directed her in Deadly Divergence, and she directed Flower Song, which was written by him. They also starred together in the former, Scarlet and Mr Peterson (though had no scenes together).
  • Raven Hair, Ivory Skin: Ironically in the one vampire film she's done (Scarlet), she plays a vampire hunter.
  • Scream Queens: She's been in numerous horror films, and made a few herself, as a big horror fan.
  • Typecasting:invoked Often plays murder victims.
  • What Could Have Been:invoked
    • She filmed an alternate variant of her scene in The Casting Man with an American accent, but Dean Houlihan preferred her natural voice.
    • She's been attached to an Ozploitation parody based around the 1932 Emu War titled The Ballad of Bonnie Roo since 2020 but so far nothing has materialised.
