Derek Jarman (1942-1994) was an English film director. His movies are artistic, eccentric, and often quite beautiful. His most famous films in include the punk rock movie Jubilee (1978) and the biopic Caravaggio. Jarman also contributed a segment to the anthology film ARIA.
He often worked with Tilda Swinton.
Jarman died at the age of fifty-two from AIDS-related complications.
