Pace Family
Liam Pace
The lead singer of Drive Shaft, and Charlie's older brother.
- The Atoner: Liam feels terrible when he drops his infant daughter, and this incident spurs him on to ditch the heroin, get clean and leave his destructive lifestyle behind.
- Hookers and Blow: Much like Charlie, he indulges in this after getting some success with Driveshaft.
- I Am the Band: He response when Charlie tries to get him to disband Drive Shaft after his drug use gets out of control.
- My God, What Have I Done?: When he drops his infant daughter.
- Sex Drugs And Rock N Roll: Liam throws himself fully into the cliched rock star lifestyle after Driveshaft scores a hit.
- Took a Level in Jerkass: Success goes to Liam's head in an incredibly short amount of time. He steals Charlie's vocal part in the band, dismisses the other bandmates, becomes tempermental, falls into drug use and even pushes Charlie into the same life before abandoning his brother entirely.
- Took a Level in Kindness: After getting off the heroin, Liam appears to have eaten a nice big slice of humble pie. He's living a quiet life in Australia as a responsible husband and father when Charlie finds him, and offers to get him into a rehab program.
- Toxic Friend Influence: To Charlie, whom he ends up dragging with him into drug use.
Megan Pace (née Stratton)
The wife of Simon Pace and the mother of Charlie and Liam Pace. She encouraged Charlie's musical inclinations; she told him that he was "special" and bought him a piano with hard-earned money.
- Dead Guy Junior: Karen names her and Liam's baby after her.
- Good Parents: Unlike Simon, Megan encouraged Charlie's musical dreams.
- Posthumous Character: She's long deceased by the time the series begins. In flashbacks, she's only ever seen when Charlie's a very young child.
- Missing Mom: Due to her death and all.
Simon Pace
Husband to Megan Pace and the father of Charlie and Liam Pace. He worked as a butcher, and vehemently disapproved of Charlie and Liam's musical careers.
- Fantasy-Forbidding Father: Simon didn't want his sons to be musicians, and from what little we see of him he wanted them to follow him in the family butcher business.
- Jerkass: As part of his Fantasy-Forbidding Father thing.
- Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Charlie does have some good memories of him, such as when he was teaching him to swim.
- Posthumous Character: He's dead (the cause is unknown but likely to be fairly innocuous) by the time the series begins in earnest.
Karen Pace
Liam Pace's wife, and mother of Liam's child, Megan.

The owner of the Heatherton Corporation, and father to Lucy Heatherton.
- Former Teen Rebel: He was in a band as a teenager called 'The Protesant Reformation' which he's quite self-deprecating about.
- Honest Corporate Executive: He's a ridiculously good-natured chap who's also very rich.

A young woman picked up by Charlie in hopes of getting money from her. She lived in Knightsbridge, England, the same area of London as Penelope. Her father, Francis Heatherton briefly employed Charlie at Heatherton Corporation, and bought him a brief case for his new job.

- Missing Mom: Her father seems to be the only parent in her life.
