    Dreamfinder 
Voiced by: Chuck McCann (most of original ride), Ron Schneider (parts of the original ride, "Skyleidoscope")
Portrayed by: Ron Schneider (meet and greets from 1982-1987), Joe Rhode ("The Dreamfinder's School of Drama" in the original Image Works)
Figment's creator and friend.
  • Eccentric Mentor: To Figment in the original ride.
  • Meaningful Name: He finds and collects dreams as fuel for inspiring new ideas. Dreamfinder and Figment's appearance in the 1984 Walt Disney World Christmas parade also reveals that the duo keep these dreams safe until they come true.

Voiced by: Billy Barty (original ride, Language Arts Through Imagination), Corey Burton (cameo in second version of the ride), Dave Goelz (third version of the ride), A.J. LoCascio (Disney Speedstorm)
Dreamfinder's imaginary friend brought to life. Later portrayed as a "discovery" made by scientists of the Imagination Institute.
  • Delightful Dragon: In the original version of the ride, this is Invoked by Dreamfinder adding "a dash of childish delight" to finish creating him.
  • The Gadfly: Messes with Dr. Channing's experiments in an attempt to teach him that "Imagination works the best when it's set free!"
  • Meaningful Name: He's named after the phrase "a figment of [one's] imagination".

    Dr. Nigel Channing 
Portrayed by: Eric Idle
The chairman of the Imagination Institute.
  • Contrasting Replacement Character: Unlike Dreamfinder, who tells the guests about the wonders of imagination, he is more interested in the scientific studies of it. Figment's antics cause him to rethink his views though.
