Mobuo

• Beady-Eyed Loser: Mobuo's eyes have small irises, which is fitting for a loser who gets the short end of the stick in most situations.
• Butt-Monkey: Mobuo always gets subjected to all kinds of unpleasant situations. The Flag-chan girls can either cause it or share it with him depending on the episode.
• Punny Name: His name is a play on the Japanese loanword mobu (mob), which is used to refer to background characters or NPCs.
• Ridiculously Average Guy: His whole shtick. Even the opening narration calls him a nobody.
• Unsympathetic Comedy Protagonist: Being a pervert yet spineless otaku, he's expected to be this.

Grim Reaper Flag-chan

• Captain Ersatz: She looks like Komaru Naegi.
• Grim Reaper: In the form of a young girl.
• Laser-Guided Amnesia: She can erase people's memories by hitting them over the head with the "toy hammer" part of her scythe.
• Little Sister Heroine: The episode What If You Had A Little Sister? has her turn into one by way of Romance Flag waving a "Onii-chan Wand". While Mobuo enjoys it at first, it turns out it was temporary, restoring Grim Reaper back to her senses. When she saw Romance recorded the whole thing, she smacks Mobuo's head with the "toy hammer" part of her scythe to make him forget what happened.
• Sinister Scythe: More like a toy hammer with a scythe at one of its sides, it's still fitting an avatar of death in the form of a young girl.

Romance Flag-chan

• Troll: She is willing to trick people in love for her own amusement.

Survival Flag-san

• Only Sane Woman: She is the most levelheaded of the Flag girls, given she appears whenever Mobuo has a chance of survival as long as he doesn't screw up on it.

Heartbreak Flag-chan

• Wicked Heart Symbol: She wears purple hair accessories in the shape of a broken heart and will go out of her way to foil Mobuo's romantic efforts to have him all to herself.

Billy

• Scary Black Man: Subverted. While he is tall and muscled, he is actually friendly and he's also weaker than he looks.
• Verbal Tic: He ends his sentences with "pyon".
