General
- Deliberately Monochrome: Every character's color scheme is white with black accents, with some exceptions, like little red riding hood in Wer-Dood, and the same characters in the DVD release.
- The Voiceless: the only noises Dood and the others can make are gibberish noises, grunts, and laughter.
Main Characters
Dood
Dood is the main character of the series, and an unwilling chew toy for his creator.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Don't let Dood's positive outlook fool you, he'll hold a grudge if you ever get on his nerves, and may try to one-up or even get revenge on you!
- Black Dot Pupils: Dood's eyes sport these, only having them become black circles when Dood expresses certain emotions.
- The Chew Toy: Dood spends the entire series getting screwed over in various ways, from dealing with a black hat that never gives him the rabbit he had found, to trying to climb a mountain only revealed to be a sham.
- Disapproving Look: Dood does this expression when things don't go right for him, seen in the above photo.
- Eye Scream: Dood's eyeballs are one of the very gags in the show, from getting stuck to floors, to getting them pulled out.
- Hammerspace: Dood can pull out any objects he wants, like a mallet in High Definition Dood, an air pump in Makeover, and even explosives from Headache.
- Idiot Hair: Dood has a crown-like tuft of hair at the end of his head, given his naïve and clueless nature, it's easy to see how it could be related to this trope.
- Pint-Sized Powerhouse: Despite being the shortest character, Dood carries lots of items larger than him, like a smashed crawler crane in Headache.
- Punny Name: Dood's name is a pun on the word "Dude".
- Vague Age: It could be easy to assume Dood is a child based on his height alone, but there have been many instances of him doing things that aren't normal for children. Such as drinking coffee in Java, being a teacher in The Substitute and many more.
Hand
- A Dog Named "Dog": Hand is a disembodied hand.
- Creating Life Is Bad: Hand is the reason for Dood's existence, and in certain occasions puts Dood through various situations, some that even involve putting the poor doodle through psychical torture.
- The Hand Is God: Self-Explanatory.
Side Characters
Doodette
- Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: While she and Dood can constantly bicker and be annoyed with each other, Doodette and Dood are just as capable of loving each other.
- Distaff Counterpart: Doodette is clearly Dood's female counterpart.
- Girlish Pigtails: Doodette's hair is tied into two pigtails, and it's rare to see her hair down.
- Palette Swap: Doodette's clothing is opposites to Dood's, whereas Dood wears a black shirt with white pants, Doodette wears a white blouse and black skirt.
- Punny Name: Just like how Dood's name is a pun on the word "Dude", Doodette's name is a pun on the word "Dudette".
- Significant Name Overlap: Doodette's original name is more well known, but she's also called "Doodelle" certain times in the official Doodlez website.
- Tertiary Sexual Characteristics: Doodette has eyelashes and seems to be wearing lipstick, her hair is also in pigtails and she's wearing a skirt.
