Adaptational Jerkass: Downplayed, as most of his canon qualities are kept, but in this series, Mario can sometimes be rather immature, and a bit of a jerk.
Berserk Button: If you know what's good for you, you WON'T give Mario a fruitcake for Christmas.
- The E.T. game is sure going to upset him.
Bring My Brown Pants: He crapped himself while trying to warm up a Koopa egg.
Catchphrase: "I dot dot." "Lets-a Go!"
Jerkass: Mario is mean, to say the least. He frequently verbally abuses Luigi and his friends, won't share food with others and ridicules others whenever he feels like it.
Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite being a huge jerk to his brother and friends, he deep down cares about them in his way.
Nice Mean And In Between: The mean one with Luigi being Nice and Jack being the inbetween. As he is more immature and throws insults at everyone.
Pet the Dog: He has his moments.
- When Jack closes the freezer with Luigi inside it, Mario opened it later on, found him and cleaned him, by smacking him granted, but he still helped.
Sanity Slippage: While stuck on an island with Luigi, Mario eventually goes crazy and tries to eat him because he thinks he's pizza.
Trademark Favourite Food: Pizza is this for him.
Urine Trouble: This one time when he woke up one morning...
Mario: The sun is shining! Wait... If the sun is shining, how come my bed is wet? Oh crap.

Luigi

Butt-Monkey: Sometimes.
Deadpan Snarker: Usually whenever around Mario or Jack. But he can be this at times.
Luigi: Hey, mister Jamaican bear, how are you doing?
Bear: Oh, OOOH! YOU'RE SO UGLY!! AHHHHHHHH!!!
Luigi: Man, he woke up on the wrong side of the stool.
Nice Guy: Much more nicer than Mario.
Nice Mean And In Between: The nice one compared to Mario being Mean and Jack being the inbetween, as he's the most polite and mature of the three.
Only Sane Man: Pretty much the only logical one of the group, evidenced whenever he's around Mario.
Running Gag: He's always shown waking up in different places.

Butt-Monkey: All the time.
The Chew Toy: The audience loves seeing him suffer out of hilarity.
The Dog Bites Back: After suffering lots of abuse courtesy of Mario and Luigi, he finally gets to hit Luigi multiple times in "The Sleepwalking Disorder."
Nice Guy: Very much so. Sometimes he's not. He’s not as nice in the later episodes, however.
Nice Mean And In Between: The inbetween when he's in a trio with Mario and Luigi. As he's almost as friendly as Luigi, but almost as immature as Mario.
