Awesome / Tomo-chan Is a Girl!

Go To

  • In episode 2, Tomo tries to keep her composure on the bus when a guy gropes her so she won't make a scene in front of Jun. Luckily, Jun quickly realizes what is happening and angrily grabs the pervert by the shirt, scaring the life out of the creep and later turning him over to the police.
  • In episode 4, when an upperclassman bully known for ruining the lives of girls who refuse to date him attempts to pressure Ogawa into dating him, Tomo defends her from his intimidation. When he doesn't take her seriously, Tomo, not raising her voice by a single decibel, effortlessly kicks the scumbag so hard that he flies into a wall.
    • After the dirtbag tells his gang about Tomo and wants them to beat her up, Jun, overhearing them, proceeds to beat the crap out of all of them while also not raising his voice whatsoever. He even forces them to apologize to Tomo on their knees, with Jun suffering only a minor cheek wound for his efforts. Even better, Tomo doesn't even know, with Jun just telling her he "fell." Considering that Tomo says Jun has a history of "falling" in the past, it's clear Jun has been defending Tomo for a while without her knowledge. Not because she needs it, but because he truly loves her.
  • A more comedic one in episode 5, but there's how Carol easily defeats Carol and Misuzu in Othello. And by defeat, we mean completely covering the board in her pieces. She needed only five minutes to beat Tomo and ten minutes to beat Misuzu, who is shown to be arguably the smartest character in the entire school.
    • Speaking of which, Carol is shown, despite her bubbly & ditzy demeanor, to actually be even smarter than Misuzu, who got the highest exam score in the prior exams. She can instantly do math problems in her head that even Misuzu needs minutes to figure out. Because she didn't know she needs to write down how she solved the problem to get full points, Carol was docked points. This leads to her beating Misuzu to get number one in the next exam after Misuzu tells her she has to write the math problems out.
  • In episode 6, the bullies from earlier are smug when they hear a girl is on the team they're facing in the dodgeball tournament. Cue it being none other than Tomo, who is so good that she was moved out of the girls' tournament to the boys' tournament. It is, as the show puts it, an "Instant Victory."
    • She later beats the strongest student in the school, Takeshi Gouma, in the finals via a clever fake-out. Never mind the man is not only the strongest person in the school, he is compared to a gorilla with his strength in-universe.
    • Later on, Gouma challenges Jun to judo out of curiosity that the latter isn't involved in the school's judo club. Jun holds his own, and he would have won if he had used karate, which Gouma himself acknowledges.
  • In the flashback part of episode 7, Tomo, even as a little kid, has some astounding feats of physicality. When Jun, angry at her for breaking his video game console, punches her in the face, she doesn't cry, but instead says he should do it one hundred times so she could make it up to him. She later easily outraces Jun in a forest and is able to easily climb up a set of stairs while carrying Misuzu which Jun physically struggles to do just carrying a butterfly net.
    • Later on, when Jun gets his new console stolen by a pair of bullies, Tomo, who learns about it just by studying Jun's face, is implied to have beaten them up to get it back.
  • In the second part of episode 8, the bully gang from earlier tries to pull over Misuzu to use her since she is Tomo's friend. She gives all of them a Death Glare that terrifies them to the core. When Carol arrives later, they try to at the very least intimidate her (probably worse), so she pulls out a tazer and zaps the ringleader with it long enough for her and Misuzu to escape and hide.
    • The bully leader finds Tomo and Misuzu, but before he can do anything, Tomo and Jun arrive to beat them up in short work.
    • Misaki gets his own moment of awesome when he mistakenly thinks the bullies violated Carol since she was wearing little clothing (luckily, she was just changing into clean clothes from the ones she got dirty while escaping the bullies earlier). He becomes so terrifyingly angry that Tomo and Jun have to hold him back from murdering the bully leader until Carol reveals the truth of the matter.
    • Last but not least, Misuzu gets her own awesome moment when she reveals to the bullies that Tomo is the daughter of the feared Aisawa dojo master, cowing the bullies into submission and ensuring they would never bother Tomo again.
  • In episode 10, during a schoolwide marathon, Tomo and Jun spend most of the race running way ahead of everyone else. When the gym instructor checks on them via motorscooter, they become so angry they catch up to it just by running.
    • When Tomo catches a fever from overexerting herself, Jun carries her to the school hospital entirely by himself from where she fainted, which is a good distance away from where the race started.
  • In episode 13, Jun beats Gorou in a fight! Granted, Gorou was intentionally throwing wide punches to help Jun out (plus the presence of his wife distracted him, something Jun knew about), but Jun still slugged Tomo's dad in the face and even forced his fingers to graze the floor. This allowed Tomo and Jun to finally start dating one another, which they seal the next day with a Big Damn Kiss.
