Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht Rising is a feature film that serves as a sequel to Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Rebellion. Originally in Development Hell, with a "concept movie" trailer being released in 2015, the movie was officially announced in April 2021 and will be released sometime in 2024.

As of September 2023, almost nothing is known about the plot, but all of the original staff and voice cast have been confirmed to return.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht Rising contains examples of:

  • Bandaged Face: Sayaka's face is mostly hidden, covered in bandages.
  • Costume Evolution: All of the characters have seen changes to their outfits, whether minor or significant. They made a few subtle changes to the school uniforms, Mami's top is now an open shirt without the ribbons, and Sayaka has a ribbon in her hair and a different cape.
  • Freeze-Frame Bonus: The trailer has extremely brief cards of text. The content of them is as follows:
"Official Name: Stage Witch (Real Name Unknown)"
    It's nature is helplessness.
The symbol of a fool that spins around and around.
The legend of a mysterious witch that has been passed down from generation to generation throughout history.
In the past, this existence brought hope, and eventually scatters curses.
[ The Law of Cycle ] saved us.
I want to see you, one more time.
    The world is for "Madoka".
  • Motifs: Homura seems to be associated with phones, as she is seen making a phone call at the start of the trailer and is holding a gigantic phone in the poster. While she mostly uses an old rotary phone, a blink-and-you'll-miss-it scene shows Homura with a smartphone, about to throw herself off a high ledge.
  • Parasol of Prettiness: In the trailer, Madoka finds Homura, holding a parasol, smiling, and standing on a fountain.

"And so, let the curtain rise on tonight's dream."
