* DropTheHammer: In ''VideoGame/TailsAdventure'', he uses a hammer similar to Amy's. Or, rather, the other way around, as his hammer appeared before Amy's.

* DropTheHammer: Her Piko Piko Hammer is her weapon of choice.

* NotGoodWithRejection: She doesn't take it well when Sonic doesn't reciprocate her advances and is willing to DropTheHammer. As of ''VideoGame/SonicLostWorld'', she's back to normal.

* GutturalGrowler: At least when voiced by Dan Green and currently Travis Willingham. Knuckles has a bit of a gruff voice, which fits his tough guy character.

* DeathGlare: There's ''[[http://images.wikia.com/sonic/images/3/30/Amy_Rush4.png this]]'' horrifying face seen in ''VideoGame/{{Sonic Rush|Series}}'', which is used exactly once in the game (when she demands to know who Blaze is and why Sonic seems so interested in her).

* {{Yandere}}: Shows slight shades of this, particularly in ''VideoGame/{{Sonic Rush|Series}}''. Upon meeting Blaze, she warns her that she's Sonic's girlfriend, and that she won't let anyone else have him. Later, when Sonic asks Amy if he's seen Blaze, she immediately jumps to the conclusion that Sonic is in love with her, only calming down once Tails explains that it's not like that. It's PlayedForLaughs, of course, but her obsession with Sonic is clearly unhealthy.

* InnocentlyInsensitive: In ''VideoGame/{{Sonic Rush|Series}}'', when introducing Amy and Knuckles, who she calls "short-sighted" and "not very bright" respectively, to Blaze.

* MagmaMan: Some of his moves in ''Sonic Battle''. Also his most commonly used element, seen in the ''[[VideoGame/SonicAdvanceSeries Sonic Advance Series]]'' and ''VideoGame/SonicHeroes''.

* ActionGirl: Starts turning into one in ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure'', and fully blossoms into one by ''VideoGame/SonicAdvance''.

* ActionGirl: She can sometimes be one, as shown in ''VideoGame/SonicAdvance2'' and ''VideoGame/SonicHeroes''.

* DistressedDamsel: In ''VideoGame/SonicAdvance2'', and ''VideoGame/ShadowTheHedgehog''.

* TrademarkFavoriteFood: Her idle animation in Sonic Advance 2 show’s her eating an ice cream cone.

* BoobsOfSteel: Has the largest breasts out of the ''Sonic'' girls due to her age and image. She literally kicks people asses with kickboxing, making her one of the stronger female characters.

* TheLeader: Even though Shadow is the [[FaceOfTheBand "face" of the team]], she's really the leader of the three. Recently downplayed, since this was in effect Since SonicHeroes, Shadow is more this type of role in later plots.

* MakeMeWannaShout: The basis of her "Shot" attack in ''Sonic Battle'', complete with a sound clip of a vaguely bat-like screech that plays whenever she fires it.

** Sonic refusing to get romantically involved with her is a sure fire way to anger her. Also, [[VideoGame/SonicStorybookSeries Sonic missing out on a date]], even if it was beyond his power.

* NoSympathy: In the end of ''[[VideoGame/SonicStorybookSeries Sonic and the Black Knight]]'', she dismisses Sonic's reason for missing out on their date because he was sent to Arthurian times, and angrily chases him with her hammer.

* BadassArmfold: He does this very often, and it looks extremely badass, despite the fact that he's badass already.
* BadassBaritone: He has a low-sounding voice when voiced by Scott Dreier to fit his stoic and serious personality in the two ''Adventure'' games and ''Heroes''.

* BadassInCharge: In ''Forces'', he leads the Resistance.

* BareYourMidriff: Her outfit in ''Sonic Riders'' as well as her alternate outfit in ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2''.

* TheChick: To Team Sonic whenever she teams up with them. She also has elements of TheBigGuy when she has her mallet.

* TheChick: One of the most innocent and passive characters in the cast. While she can fight if need be, she prefers to stay on the sidelines.

* TheChick: She's a little less serious on missions than her teammates but when the chips come down to it, she'll make sure their morale is always up.

** Knuckles was Sonic's original {{Foil}} and [[TheRival rival]], and remained as such until [[EvilTwin Shadow's]] debut in ''VideoGame/SonicAdventure2''. Afterward, he just became another one of Sonic's allies before losing all relevance to the series after ''VideoGame/SonicHeroes''. The only reason he even shows up nowadays is probably to remind people that he's still around. At least until ''Sonic Forces'', where he's [[AsskickingEqualsAuthority the leader of the Resistance]].

* AsskickingEqualsAuthority: He's the leader of the Resistance in ''Sonic Forces''.

* AluminumChristmasTrees: Her Piko Piko Hammer is a popular Japanese children's toy. In its original appearance, ''VideoGame/SonicTheFighters'', it even bears a stronger resemblance to that toy.

* {{Gainaxing}}: It's been toned down significantly since ''Adventure 2'' (where her breasts bounced ''constantly''), but some games still manage to sneak it in.

* ShesGotLegs: And she knows how to use 'em too.

* CoolPet: Cheese usually does most of the attacking for Cream.

* ILoveNuclearPower: At least in a few alternate continuities, it's been theorized that his mutation is due to toxic waste dumped by Dr. Robotnik.

* GrumpyBear: Downplayed. Although nowhere near to the level Shadow is, he often too serious to lighten up, although this stems from having to live alone in Angel Island for all his life. However, he's a rather mellow guy.

* InformedSpecies: Knuckles looks absolutely nothing like a real echidna, although he gets a pass on it [[SeldomSeenSpecies due to being one of the few major character based on the species in fiction.]]

* SeldomSeenSpecies: Both in and out of universe--he is the first example of an echidna being a main character in fiction. In-universe, its justified because he's the LastOfHisKind[[note]]discounting others such as Tikal or Shade[[/note]].
