-->-- '''Creator/HPLovecraft''' and '''Creator/HarryHoudini''''s ''Under the Pyramids''

A Petting Zoo Person is a type of character who is so anthropomorphized that they resemble an animal's skin, head and tail placed on an otherwise human body frame (think of one of those costumed, silent "mascots" at a sports event, or the costumed characters at Disney theme parks). This is a higher degree of [[SlidingScaleOfAnthropomorphism anthropomorphism]] than the FunnyAnimal (who retain the [[http://cartooncave.blogspot.com/2009/01/anthropomorphism.html general shape and proportions of the animal]]), but a step below those that are a LittleBitBeastly (whose ''only'' animal features are their [[UnusualEars ears]] and tail, possibly claws); in Japan, this level of anthropomorphism is referred to as "[[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kemono kemono]]" (which is shortened term of ''kemono-obito'' or beast-man, and is also what [[UsefulNotes/FurryFandom Japanese furry fans]] call themselves). The term "kemono" was formerly used for {{Kaiju}} or similarity-monstrous creatures.

Petting Zoo People typically feature the following:
* They possess the animal's full head and face -- the face almost always subtly humanised by shifting the features around and giving them human facial expressions, but still having animal rather than human features -- and (where applicable) the animal's tail. They may also feature animal-like claws and/or pads on their hands and feet.
* Where LittleBitBeastly folks have human skin, Petting Zoo People possess fur-, feather-, or scale-covered bodies. Sometimes they have a mix of skin accented with heavy concentrations of fur (et al), a built-in PrettyInMink as it were. Mammalian species with little to no fur by default (elephants, cetaceans, etc.) get a pass.
* They may stand on [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digitigrade digitigrade]] feet resembling the animal's hind legs.
* Their body frame can often be measured by human proportions, e.g: six to eight "heads" tall, legs comprising half their body height, etc.
* They may possess [[NonMammalMammaries humanlike breasts]], which {{Funny Animal}}s typically lack.
* They display all the mannerisms of a human individual, such as speaking human language (unless they're TheSpeechless) and wearing [[FullyDressedCartoonAnimal a full set of clothes]] that a human would be expected to, according to the type of the setting: [[NextSundayAD modern-day attire]], [[NobleSavage tribal loincloths]] [[BraidsBeadsAndBuckskins and]] [[HollywoodNatives jewelry]], or [[TheFuture spacesuits]]. They may also [[BarefootCartoonAnimal omit shoes]], especially if they have hooves or otherwise unsuitable anatomy. They are unlikely to be [[HalfDressedCartoonAnimal partially dressed]] or [[AccessoryWearingCartoonAnimal only wear accessories]] due to their more human-like bodyframe. (Though shirtless males are more likely than other variants as they aren't as lewd as pantsless males or females and shirtless females)
* A female will typically have humanlike, styleable [[FurryFemaleMane hair on her head]]. Male hair is less common but they may still have an identifiable style. Animals with manes are the "[[JustForPun mane]]" exception.
* While a BeastMan may have AnimalEyes, Petting Zoo People will usually have human eyes (with perhaps a wider variety than common eye colors).
* While {{Funny Animal}}s and {{Civilized Animal}}s are sometimes or often treated like "normal" animals in their world, Petting Zoo People are typically recognized as a distinct sentient race.
* Petting Zoo People are highly likely to feature in settings that also have baseline humans and/or non-bestial races such as mythical creatures and aliens, rather than a WorldOfFunnyAnimals. (Though this is usually the opposite case for FurryWebcomics)

In-universe, Petting Zoo People are generally a distinct species from both humans and animals (as opposed to a HalfHumanHybrid), assuming the subject is addressed rather than [[LawOfConservationOfDetail simply glossed over]].

There are two main variants of PZP beside the standard variant, "Borderline Petting Zoo People", and "Borderline LittleBitBeastly".
* Borderline PZP have a body that does not look simply like an animal-accented human body, nor does it keep the basic shape of the animal entirely like a FunnyAnimal. They look partly humanoid and partly like their species, often they have either humanoid legs and non-humanoid torso, humanoid torso and non-humanoid legs, or look semi-humanoid all over. Many {{top heavy|Guy}} bipedal animal characters are of the humanoid torso and non-humanoid legs variety. Females are depicted with human-like breasts fairly often.
* Borderline LBB have a animal-accented human face and body frame with the animal's ears, nose, tail (where applicable), markings, and sometimes fur, feathers, or scales. They have a mostly or nearly human-shaped head and little or no semblance of their species' muzzle. If they are a bird, they have the beak or bill respective to their species that is small regardless of their species on an otherwise human-shaped head. Their ears can either be their species full ear shape and placement or have a human like ear placement and/or an ear shape somewhere between that of their respective species and that of a human. These are not to be confused with a BeastMan, which although he/she looks like this variant, he/she is a human with several animalistic physical and even behavorial traits.
* Completely Human Bodied PZP are characters that have a completely animalistic head, but a completely human body. Unlike most PZP, these have human skin from the neck down with no fur (except of smooth, extremely close-lying fur), feathers, or scales whatsoever and have completely human hands and feet. Their human skin can either have the same color as human skin or have the coloration of their respective species. They also usually lack the tail of the animal they're based on. These are not to be confused with LittleBitBeastly, who are human all around, but have a few animalistic features.

One [[PopularWithFurries proliferous source]] of Petting Zoo People in artwork (possibly even the TropeCodifier) is the UsefulNotes/FurryFandom; sometimes characters who are {{Funny Animal}}s in their {{canon}} will be made Petting Zoo People in fanart. Petting Zoo People are also commonly referred to as "Furries". Fans of these [[MindScrew are also commonly known]] as "UsefulNotes/{{Furr|y Fandom}}ies".

A midpoint between the FunnyAnimal and LittleBitBeastly on the SlidingScaleOfAnthropomorphism. Supertrope of IntelligentGerbil. See also HumanoidFemaleAnimal, where different ''genders'' of the same species possess differing levels of anthropomorphism.

[[folder:Advertising]]
* French beverage maker Advertising/{{Orangina}} has a cast of characters in their commercials which are CGI animal people.
** American beverage enhancer Mio appears to be following suit.
* Creator/ChuckECheese, the mouse mascot of the same-named chain of family entertainment centers.
** Don't you mean [[JustForPun mousescot]]?
* In the 1980s, Midland Bank, a British listening bank, has [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wdKTYXzybrY an anthropomorphic version of their golden griffin mascot]] in some of their animated commercials.
* Foxy Bingo, a UK Bingo website, uses an [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7u0XqgVP1g anthropomorphic Fox in a maroon suit]] for their adverts.
* In the early '00s, a German bank called Schwäbisch Hall had a feature on their website where you could ask a chatbot questions about their services and products. The chatbot used an anthro fox as an avatar.

[[folder:Anime & Manga]]
* In ''Manga/{{Bleach}}'', Sajin Komamura appears to be a giant wolf man.
* The film ''Anime/TheBoyAndTheBeast'' revolves around a kemono and his realm that is full of kemonos, in which he meets with a human boy named Kyuta and makes him his apprentice.
* Many Franchise/{{Digimon}} at the Mega level are this, such as [[LizardFolk Wargreymon, Victorygreymon, Shinegreymon, Imperialdramon, Ulforcevdramon, Omegashoutmon]], Miragegaogamon, and Magnagarurumon. Some exist below this level as well.
* Kuro from ''Manga/DeliciousInDungeon'' is a kobold, a race of dog based beast men.
* At least ''three'' of ''Anime/{{Doraemon}}'''s {{Non Serial Movie}}s have settings around anthropomorphic animals' societies, one having mixed up species, one having birds, and one having dogs and cats. They act and speak so similarly to the Earthlings that the heroes are always able to disguise themselves simply with animal outfits and use the language translation gum.
* They are a common sight in the ''Manga/DragonBall'' series, even moreso in the earlier arcs. Major characters that fit this trope included Puar, [[PigMan Oolong]], and Korin. Other examples of this trope are Captain Yellow (a tiger), a high-ranking officer of the Red Ribbon Army and King Furry (a dog), the King of Earth.
** Captain Yellow's design in particular was likewise a reference to the Flying Tigers from UsefulNotes/WorldWarII. The fact that he also happens to be a plane pilot also cements this.
** Beerus the Destroyer from ''Anime/DragonBallZBattleOfGods'' looks like an anthropomorphic hairless cat and displays several cat like behaviors.
** There are a few other Gods of Destruction A-side from Beerus that are animals, as shown in ''Anime/DragonBallSuper''. These include Champa, also a hairless cat like Beerus, Quitela, Rumsshi, Liquiir, and Geene.
** Out of the ten warriors of [[Characters/DragonBallUniverse9 Universe 9]], 8 of them are animals. The exceptions include [[WhenTreesAttack Hyssop]] and Oregano.
** Moro from the Galactic Patrol arc resembles a large anthropomorphic goat.
* In ''Anime/{{Endride}}'', one of the two races, the Zoozians, are Petting Zoo People, although they show a very broad range from more humanoid to more animalistic (and in one odd case, more robotic) features. They come in every kind of animal form, some more aquatic and some more land-based. They are unfortunately subject to FantasticRacism by the human race, the Endras. Somehow, the two species can produce [[HalfHumanHybrid children]] although it's rare because of the racial prejudice.
%%* Fukuro, Yomazu and Kawazu in ''Manga/FairyTail''.
* Chicken George from ''Manga/{{Fourteen}}'' is a chicken variety of this.
* Well-made chimeras from ''Manga/FullmetalAlchemist'' look human most of the time but can turn into Petting Zoo People at will.
* In ''Anime/MahouSenseiNegima'', the Magical World seems mostly composed of {{Kemonomimi}}s, but there are quite a few Petting Zoo People too. Most notable is "Bear Mama", the bear woman who took care of three of the Mahora girls for a while [[MamaBear and REALLY didn't like it when anyone even looked at them the wrong way.]]
* Every animal that appears in the 1985 anime ''Anime/MapleTown'' resembles a human despite non-ever showing up at all.
* When using human disguises in ''Manga/OInariJKTamamoChan'', divine fox spirit Tamamo and her sister, Tenko, appear as humanoid foxes to those who can see through the illusion. Both are oblivious to the fact that "Those who can see through the illusion" includes ''the entire student body'' of Tamamo's school. The manga always shows them in this form unless we're seeing the viewpoint of someone who isn't seeing through the disguise or through a camera or mirror, which always displays the human form.
* ''Manga/OnePiece'':
** Tony Tony Chopper fits this trope while in his [[HalfHumanHybrid hybrid form]]. However, his normal form is a FunnyAnimal (he is a reindeer) while his human form is a BeastMan.
** There's also Bepo, a polar bear wearing a jumpsuit in the Heart Pirates (led by Trafalgar Law). Additionally, a [[BadassInANiceSuit sharply dressed]] lion [[CoolShades in shades]] named Pekoms is under one of the most powerful pirates in the world: "Big Mom" Charlotte Linlin of the Four Emperors. Both of them are later revealed to be Minks (see below).
** Foxy also had three rat Petting Zoo People in his crew who helped him prepare for the grand match of Davy Back Fight.
** The Mink Tribe is comprized of anthropomorphic talking animals, though exactly how anthropomorphic they are seems to vary between individuals. Two female members introduced in chapter 804, for example, are a LittleBitBeastly, while others are talking animals (like the aforementioned Bepo).
* ''Anime/TengenToppaGurrenLagann'' has a whole race of them, the Beastmen.[[note]]However, the most often-seen Beastman, Viral, is so human-like, he's barely LittleBitBeastly.[[/note]]
* Several beings in the world of Gaea from ''Anime/TheVisionOfEscaflowne'', most notably Merle, a CatGirl; there are also dog people, wolf people, dolphin people, hawk people, LizardFolk, etc.
* With the exception of Princess Aura, the entire main cast of ''Anime/JuuniSenshiBakuretsuEtoRanger'' is this.
* ''Manga/MyHeroAcademia'' takes place in a world where 80% of the world is a DifferentlyPoweredIndividual, which manifests as superpowers and/or physical mutations, meaning that there are characters who look like humanoid animals, such as a [[DaChief chief of police]] who looks like a giant talking dog, or Tsuyu and her family being FrogMen. U.A.'s principal is even a talking mouse, being a rare case of an animal having recieved a Quirk and sentience.
* While most "human" characters in the world of ''Manga/ACentaursLife'' are a LittleBitBeastly, [[TheReptilians the reptilian]] Antarcticans, who are a different species than "humans", have the heads and tails of snakes on mostly human looking bodies except for the claws and greenish skin color, although it is stated that they are not related to snakes, being warm blooded and reproducing like [[BeePeople eusocial insects.]]
* ''Anime/{{Buta}}'' takes place in a WorldOfFunnyAnimals with characters varying between PettingZooPeople and FunnyAnimal proportions.
* ''LightNovel/GrimoireOfZero'' has beastfallen, who are randomly born from human parents, although the originals were created by witches. The unnamed mercenary is a white tiger beastfallen who wants to become human, since beastfallen are hunted both by normal humans and witches.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Card Games]]
* ''TabletopGame/YuGiOh'' has many.
** Gagagigo is a LizardFolk who appears in the artwork of many other cards, which if you put them together tell a story about his life.
** Beast-Warrior type monsters often look like this.
** Members of the Gladiator Beast archetype.
** Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin and Air Hummingbird
** A few members of the Mermail archetype.
** Abyss Soldier
** A few members of the Blackwing Archetype
** Cobraman Sakuzy
** Mezuki
** Gozuki
** Troop Dragon
* ''TabletopGame/MagicTheGathering'' has quite a few of these. In addition to common fantasy races that fall into this trope (such as minotaurs), you have Homarids (crab people), Viashino (lizard people), Cephalids (squid people), Nantuko (insect people), Aven (bird people), Leonin (cat people), Nacatl (different cat people), Loxodon (elephant people), Kitsune (fox people), Nezumi (rat people), Orochi (snake people), Amphin (salamander people), Wolfir (wolf people), and, in a parody set, Assfolk (donkey people). Sometimes merfolk are also depicted not as half-human, half-fish, but as full-on fish people and, on Lorwyn, faeries are basically insect people.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comic Books]]
* When Kurt Connors from the ''ComicBook/SpiderMan'' comics becomes the Lizard he falls under this trope.
* Sally Acorn, Lupe, and Bunnie Rabbot from the ''ComicBook/ArchieComicsSonicTheHedgehog'' started off as {{Funny Animal}}s in [[WesternAnimation/SonicSatAM the SatAM cartoon]] and early issues, but eventually [[AnthropomorphicShift became]] this trope due to Steven Butler. This has been toned down in more recent issues, with the artists proportioning the cast more according to the games series' {{Funny Animal}}s designs.
** Arguably the design shift was codified with Patrick Spaziante's work, who did art for the comic rather early in its run (his earliest art for Issue 25 already uses a rather humanoid Sally for example); however, the designs only became consistent around the time artists such as Butler and Jay Axer began doing pencils for the series. This is true for Sally Acorn at least. Bunnie's more humanoid redesign was due to a canonical upgrade for her robotic limbs while Lupe was noticably more humanoid than the others, even in [[WesternAnimation/SonicSatAM the cartoon]].
** Strangely, despite her human-like proportions, Sally is one of the only female ''Sonic'' characters in the franchise's history [[PantslessMalesFullyDressedFemales not to wear clothes]] (unless you count her blue shoes) until getting her blue vest in season 2, the others mostly found in the comics as well.
* ''ComicBook/IKilledAdolfHitler'', a story about time travel, is set in a bleak world of humanoid animals.
* ''ComicBook/{{Maus}}'', a story about the Holocaust, with different species standing in for different nationalities/races.
* The cast of ''ComicBook/UsagiYojimbo'', with two exceptions, both villainous.
* ''ComicBook/{{Blacksad}}'' is one of the currently most famous examples in the European comic book world, starring mostly animals of all kinds with very human-like bodies, ranging from straight-up PZP to Borderline LittleBitBeastly.
* ''Comicbook/DeCapeEtDeCrocs'': The main leads are an anthropomorphic fox and wolf. They also are noblemen; and both have human LoveInterests. Their sidekick is a rabbit (and former Guard of the Cardinal!)
* In ''ComicBook/{{Catstronauts}}'', the entire world is populated by anthropomorphic cats.
* The {{dog|faces}}noses of Carl Barks's ComicBook/DisneyDucksComicUniverse comics, the ComicBook/MickeyMouseComicUniverse comics, ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'', ''WesternAnimation/GoofTroop'', ''WesternAnimation/AGoofyMovie'' and ''An Extremely Goofy Movie'' look like people, except with dog noses and muzzles, and (usually) dog ears. [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Beaglefamily_1596.png The Beagle Boys]] are an example.
** Many of them are even more humanoid than Goofy or Max, who are also supposed to be [[{{Dogfaces}} dognoses]].
** A lot of {{dog|faces}}noses have a coloring that indicates a lack of fur and some of them (like Roxanne from ''WesternAnimation/AGoofyMovie'') even border on LittleBitBeastly.
*** But the Beagle Boys in ''WesternAnimation/MickeyDonaldGoofyTheThreeMusketeers'', unlike in Creator/CarlBarks' and Creator/DonRosa's comics and in ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'', are grey, which is color that makes them look like they have fur.
* Almost everyone except for the titular protagonist in Creator/JackKirby's '70s comic, ''[[ComicBook/{{Kamandi}} Kamandi: Last Boy on Earth]]''.
* Katarina Kodorofsky the Russian spy cat and Mickey's ally from the ''ComicBook/MickeyMouseComicUniverse''.
* The ''ComicBook/XMen'''s Beast has a secondary mutation that has him turn into this.
* Rosinha Rocha from the ''Ze Carioca'' comics is a borderline LittleBitBeastly.
* The ''Franchise/TeenageMutantNinjaTurtles'', as mentioned below.
* ''ComicBook/CerebusTheAardvark'' is a humanoid aardvark.
* ''ComicBook/{{Condorito}}'' has the eponymous Condorito and his nephew Coné, two humanoid Condors.
* Most of the supporting cast of ''ComicBook/SonicTheComic'' gradually turned into this. At first they were just animals standing on two legs, usually keeping their animalistic proportions (so, for instance, pig Porker Lewis had a large belly, and rabbit Johnny Lightfoot had notably longer hind legs), but after Robotnik took over Mobius most characters started wearing clothes and assumed more humanoid proportions. Porker's the most obvious example, as his pig trotters were replaced with five-fingered hands (presumably due to his status as the team's tech expert).
* ''Manhwa/TheGreatCatsby'': World filled to the brim with anthropomorphic dogs, cats, and one {{token human}} here and there, but hey, no big deal.
* The more animalistic beings from ''[[ComicBook/{{Swordquest}} Swordquest: Earthworld]]'' fall under this, such as King Leo, a humanoid lion who stands upright, has five-fingered hands tipped with claws, and a large orange mane and tail.
* Super Angry Birds changes the characters of ''VideoGame/AngryBirds'' from minimalist cartoon birds and pigs to humanoid bird superheros and pig supervillains fighting each other in New York City.
* ''ComicBook/AlbedoErmaFelnaEDF'' has this, but with one partial exception: most bird species are still are in their usual avian body structures and are typically around to forego conventional clothes on duty outside of neckband displaying their ranks. Penguins are the exception since their body structures can allow for humanoid uniforms and environment suits to a reasonable degree.
* Anubis: Dark Desire, a pornographic FurryComic featuring the Egyptian Gods.
* The Chilean FurryComic, ''Franko: Fables of the Last Earth'', features anthropomorphic Lions.
* ''ComicBook/MeatierShowers'' is a gay romantic comedy FurryComic that features furries with ridiculously large muscles.
* ''Jack Wolfgang'' is a French comic similar to ''ComicBook/{{Blacksad}}'' that takes places in a world with [[LionsAndTigersAndHumansOhMy both humans and anthro animals]]. The protagonist is a wolf man who works for the CIA.
* The titular character of ''ComicBook/MissileMouse'' is an anthropomorphic mouse.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Comic Strips]]
* Thornton the polar bear from ''ComicStrip/ShermansLagoon''.
* Mother Goose from ''ComicStrip/MotherGooseAndGrimm''.
* The characters in ''ComicStrip/MyCage'' are half-petting Zoo People/half-Funny animal. Taking place in a world where all the humans mysteriously disappeared off the face of the earth leaving the animals to take over and evolve into humanoid forms.

[[folder:Fan Works]]
* Disney characters [[Disney/RobinHood Maid Marian]], [[WesternAnimation/ChipNDaleRescueRangers Gadget Hackwrench]], and [[WesternAnimation/TaleSpin Rebecca Cunningham]] are borderline Petting Zoo People in their {{Canon}}, but are usually full-on Petting Zoo People in fanart. [[SelfFanservice This is because furries need something that caters to their personal tastes.]]
* Babs Bunny, Fifi La Fume, Rhubella Rat, and Shirly The Loon from ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures'' are {{Funny Animal}}s, but are often drawn as Petting Zoo People in fanart. [[SelfFanservice Like said example above, this is because furries need something that appeals and interests them.]]
* Fanart of Cleo from ''WesternAnimation/HeathcliffAndTheCatillacCats'' usually shows her with [[NonMammalMammaries Wrong-Type-of-Mammal Mammaries]], which she does not have in the show's {{Canon}}.
* Sawyer from ''WesternAnimation/CatsDontDance'' is a FunnyAnimal on the verge of looking like a borderline PZP in the movie, but is a Petting Zoo Person in most fanart.
* Penelope Pussycat from WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes is a CivilizedAnimal in the {{Canon}}, but she is often drawn as a Petting Zoo Person in fanart.
** Same with the ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes'' comics character, Honey Bunny, who is a FunnyAnimal in the {{Canon}}.
* The ''VideoGame/DeusExHumanRevolution''+''Franchise/MassEffect'' Fanfic [[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/8647591/1/A-City-Upon-A-Hill A city upon a hill]] Has humanity advance so much to allow it to [[LegoGenetics hybridise animal and human DNA.]]
* The ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' stories written by Avenging-Hobbits -- ''FanFic/ToBoldlyGo'' and the ''FanFic/HarmonysWarriors'' universe -- anthropomorphize the characters, due to the author's belief that the action sequences of the films being adapted (''Film/StarTrek2009'' and the Franchise/MarvelCinematicUniverse, respectfully) would [[PragmaticAdaptation require bipedal body structures]].
** However, since the latter was done as a {{Retcon}} after the series began, it caused a large BrokenBase, eventually leading it to being undone, so it's not an example of this trope anymore.
* WesternAnimation/CelebrityDeathmatch Fic, ''[[https://my.w.tt/rBQEwC3nAU Final Stand of Death]]'', the Fusion Gundam is a mixed of this (mainly wolves) and AnimalMecha.

* Kitty Mouse from ''Disney/TheGreatMouseDetective'' is an example, though a lot of the other mice are Borderline PZP.
* All the animals in ''WesternAnimation/FantasticMrFox'' except the dogs, chickens, and wolf are either PZP or borderline PZP.
* Dr. Delbert Doppler, Captain Amelia, and their children from ''Disney/TreasurePlanet''.
* The rats in ''WesternAnimation/FlushedAway''.
* Beans and Angelique the vixen in ''WesternAnimation/{{Rango}}'' are PZP.
* A lot of female penguins in ''WesternAnimation/ThePebbleAndThePenguin'', including Marina, and the TopHeavyGuy villain, Drake are Borderline PZP.
* ''WesternAnimation/ErnestEtCelestine'' takes place in a world of anthropomorphic mice and bears who live segregated from each other with mice underground and bears on the surface. The titular characters are a bear and mouse [[InterspeciesFriendship who become friends]] in spite of the FantasticRacism between their kinds and commit crimes together to survive.
* The ants in ''WesternAnimation/ABugsLife'' stand upright and have only four limbs. Most other insects also stand upright and use their forelimbs as hands, though it varies.
* The ants in ''WesternAnimation/{{Antz}}'' have four hand-like feet and two hands, though the feet move in pairs to give them a roughly bipedal stance anyway.
* Several characters in ''WesternAnimation/{{Animalympics}}'' are drawn like this.
* ''WesternAnimation/HowThisAllHappened'' is an adult film made for Furries, so naturally the characters are all petting zoo people.
* ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyTheMovie2017'' reveals several new kinds of Petting Zoo People and {{Funny Animal}}s that exist in the ''WesternAnimation/MyLittlePonyFriendshipIsMagic'' world not shown before. The best example is the character Capper, who is a [[CatPeople Cat Person]].
* The sheep and wolves in ''Animation/SheepAndWolves'' have humanoid appearances, [[SapientEatSapient but the wolves also act as predators, despite displaying human intelligence.]]
* Lani from ''WesternAnimation/SurfsUp'' is a Borderline PZP.

[[folder:Films -- Live-Action]]
* ''Franchise/PlanetOfTheApes''.
* The statue of West Eastman High School's mascot (a bald eagle) from ''Film/AlvinAndTheChipmunks: The Squeakquel'' has a muscular human frame.
* All of the characters in ''Film/BitterLake'', some of whom are also MixAndMatchCritters, such a wolf man with horns. They are portrayed by people in high quality fursuits, as it was made by the Furry Fandom.
* The horror version of this trope, ''Literature/TheIslandOfDoctorMoreau'', has been adapted to the screen several times, the most notable though are 1932 ''Film/IslandOfLostSouls'', the 1977 adaptation and probably the most famous, the 1997 adaptation ''Film/TheIslandOfDoctorMoreau'', in all of these versions Moreau's mutated animals are Petting Zoo People (as human actors with animal-like suits). In the book version the animals are described more borderline, almost like FunnyAnimal, [[NightmareFuel except that there's nothing funny about them]].
* The Snake Man from ''Film/{{Dreamscape}}'' falls into this category, although he's a ''lot'' nastier and acts more animalistic than is usual for this trope.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Literature]]
* Literature/StuartLittle has a humanoid body in the three movies and TV show he has starred in and [[https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/8796315_1e356b8f43_4152.jpg in the original book]].
* In Creator/RobertEHoward's Literature/ConanTheBarbarian story "Literature/TheTowerOfTheElephant", a prisoner in the tower has the head of an elephant and the body of a man.
* In Creator/RobertEHoward's Literature/{{Kull}} story "The Shadow Kingdom" the Snakemen have human bodies and reptilian heads.
* This is a popular design for androids in Rick Griffin's ''Literature/{{Argo}}''.
* Arol in the Norwegian fantasy series ''Literature/{{Phenomena}}'', who is an icebear commonly called "winter bear" in-story, but sometimes typoed(?) as icebear. He and his tribe wears clothes and armors and talks like everyone else and walks on two a lot. Though he runs on four.
* Some of the kemos in the web-novel ''Literature/{{Domina}}'' fall into this. Most, however, only have [[LittleBitBeastly a few bits here and there]].
* The Fithp in Niven and Pournelle's ''Literature/{{Footfall}}'' have a lot of similar characteristics, both physically and with their "herd" culture, to elephants. This is lampshaded somewhat when they observe elephants in Africa and wonder why they haven't become the dominant Earth species.
* Seen from time to time among the wide assortment of alien species in ''Literature/PerryRhodan''. A particularly conspicuous example, however, would be the mostly-benevolent Duchy of Krandhor introduced in the post-issue #1000 story arc, whose various member species practically ran this trope into the ground -- anthropomorphic lizards, squirrels, (air-breathing) squids and whatnot united under the mostly-benevolent leadership of anthropomorphic "wolf-lions"... The subplot set there didn't exactly prove popular with the established fanbase, and while Petting Zoo People of various stripes have shown up both before and since they never did so again in such a concentrated form.
* Almost everyone in ''Literature/OfFearAndFaith'' is this, including the eight main characters, unless they're a TalkingAnimal instead.
* The feas, the main race of the ''Literature/DestinedToLead'' series, are this.
* The moreaus of S.A. Swann's Literature/MoreauSeries are mostly this, although some early types border on CivilizedAnimal. Moreaus are typicall bipedal, possessing functional hands and full speech capacity. Other human-like traits vary, although they're usually animalistic in appearance, and females lack visible breasts. Some strains have enhanced capacity for facial expression, and a few can even cry.
* The animals of Anna Dewdney's ''Literature/LlamaLlama'' and ''Nelly Gnu'' picture books. However, the character designs for the AnimatedAdaptation trend more towards FunnyAnimal.
* ''Literature/JourneyToChaos'': These sort of creatures exist in Tariatla and are returned to as "demons" or "beast folk".
** Oito looks exactly like a lizard, except he's over five feet tall, walks on his hind legs, and can use his claws like human hands.
** Anuzat is a kangaroo but completely human in behavior. She wears clothing, engages in commerce, and hires bodyguards like the Dragon's Lair mercenaries.
* In ''Literature/ThePrideOfParahumans'' parahumans are transgenic hybrids created for asteroid mining. Most have this sort of look such as main character Argentum (bipedal humanoid fox), but there's other types such as uplifts that look almost entirely animal such as Cole (giant raven with wing-claws), and taurs like Aniya.
* The protagonist of Learning to Go, a gay PornWithPlot novel, is an anthropomorphic tiger in an abusive relationship with a lion.
* Creator/KyellGold has written many books starring Petting Zoo People, including the ''Literature/OutOfPosition'' book series.

[[folder:Live-Action TV]]
* These have shown up many times in ''Franchise/PowerRangers'' and ''Franchise/SuperSentai'', both as heroes and villains. Occasionally they even are rangers. (How they fit their snouts into their helmets is a mystery).
** ''Series/HyakujuuSentaiGaoranger'' and ''Series/PowerRangersWildForce'' had Rouki/Zen-Aku, an extremely powerful org with the form of a one horned wolf man. He turns out to be a human sharing a body with an org whose human side only come out during the new moon or an eclipse, making him a sort of [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent reverse werewolf]].
** ''Series/TokusouSentaiDekaranger'' and ''Series/PowerRangersSPD'' had Doggie Kruger, an alien with the appearance of blue dog person, who was the rangers' boss and later became a ranger himself.
** ''Series/JukenSentaiGekiranger'': The team's mentors are anthropomorphic animals. They are former humans who permanently turned into anthropomorphic animals as a consequence of using a forbidden SupernaturalMartialArts technique. In ''Series/PowerRangersJungleFury'', the mentors are human, but do briefly turn into these forms in the last episode. In both series the violet ranger spent some time as a werewolf.
** ''Series/DobutsuSentaiZyuohger'': There is an entire world populated by anthropomorphic animals called zyumans. All of the Zyuohgers are zyumans except for the red ranger and one of the {{SixthRanger}}s.
** ''Series/UchuSentaiKyuranger'' Garu the blue ranger is an anthropomorphic wolf. Champ the black ranger is a robot who looks like anthropomorphic bull. Shou Ronpo, the leader of the rebellion who later join the team as the tenth ranger, is a DraconicHumanoid. The original leader of the rebellion who died before the start of the series was a bear, named Big Bear.
* The cast of ''Series/ZoobileeZoo''. The characters are played by human actors wearing costumes and makeup.
* The cast of ''Series/OdiseaBurbujas'' except for [[TokenHuman Professor Memelovzky]] are humanoid animals; a Toad, a Mouse, a Lizard and a Bee.
* Most of the animal-like Wesen in ''Series/{{Grimm}}'' when they [[GameFace Vogue]] end up with the face of an animal and the body of a human including things like lions, boars and insects.

[[folder:Myths & Religion]]
* Some deities from Myth/EgyptianMythology are portrayed this way. Not because the Egyptians thought their gods actually looked like this, but because those animals symbolized many characteristics and certain aspects of their respective deity (or were sacred to them) as the bird Ibis was to the god Thoth. (The Gods looked human and the "Petting-Zoo People" were their [[UsefulNotes/FurryFandom fursonas]].)

* In ''Pinball/PoliceForce'', the police officers are Petting Zoo People, sporting human-like proportions and wearing clothes that almost completely cover their bodies.
* The Magic Shoppe proprietor in ''Pinball/MagicGirl'' is a humanoid hare with five-fingered hands, wearing an earring and an armored vest.

** Blue is a winged-wolf creature from the Aether.
** Mei is an undead, near-immortal wolf woman - oddly enough, slightly more humanoid than Blue.
** Holar ''looks'' like a dog person, but WordOfGod is that he's a [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent werewolf that got stuck]].

** ...and ''TabletopGame/{{Mystara}}'' has an extra collection of its own on top of all this.
* ''TabletopGame/{{Exalted}}'': Not only there are all kinds of Petting Zoo People (called 'Beastmen') in the Threshold, but if you're a Lunar, you can breed your own people. Nothing stops you from breeding the more outlandish kind.
* Just about everyone in ''TabletopGame/{{Ironclaw}}'' is like this.
* In ''TabletopGame/HcSvntDracones'' human-animal hybrids called "Vectors" make up the majority of the population. Most of them are like this but there's variations such as Hemivectors (LittleBitBeastly), Laterals (TalkingAnimal), and [[VertebrateWithExtraLimbs Taurs]].
* ''Franchise/{{Thunderscape}}'' has Rapacians (LizardFolk) and Ferrans -- {{Uplifted Animal}}s originally created as slaves. There are 3 branches of them: mammals (the most common), avians (nearly wiped out in their war for freedom) and reptiles (scarce due to low reproduction rate). They can only crossbreed with ferrans of the same branch. Oh, and they aren't necessarily half-human, they can be based on any humanoid race.
* [[GeneticEngineeringIsTheNewNuke Mutant Animals]] in ''TabletopGame/{{Rifts}}'' are pretty much all this. The best known are the Psi Hounds AKA [[InSeriesNickname Dog Boys]]. Canine heads and tails on human, fur-covered bodies. Most have human legs, but some have legs more like canine hind legs, as researchers experiment with other forms. Other Mutant Animals in the Coalition, as well as the experimental animals from South America, follow the same pattern.
** ''The Palladium Fantasy RPG'', made by the same company (and whose races have crossed over into ''Rifts'', has the Wolfen, Coyles, and Kankoran, three races that resemble (respectively) humanoid wolves, coyotes, and foxes.
* All "normal people" (i.e., anyone who isn't an AlwaysChaoticEvil monster) in ''TabletopGame/{{Pugmire}}'' are this. Many different species are mentioned to exist, though special focus is paid to the noble dogs of Pugmire and the [[CatsAreMean deceitful cats]] of the Monarchies of Mau.
* ''TabletopGame/{{Crimestrikers}}'' is set on Creaturia, a WorldOfFunnyAnimals whose residents have anthropomorphic bodies.

[[folder:Video Games]]
* All the characters [[TokenHuman aside from the player characters]] in ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossing'' are these. They represent a wide number of species ranging from gorillas to octopus, but all of them are bipeds and use their front limbs as hands.
* In ''VideoGame/DwarfFortress'' [[UpToEleven almost every single animal in the game]] have humanoid variations. This even extends to sea-creatures like [[{{Cthulhumanoid}} squids, octopi, and nautiluses]] and [[BeePeople insects like ants]]. In Adventurer Mode, [[MassiveRaceSelection most of them are playable as well]].
** A particularly strange stand-out from these is a subterranean creature called the Nightwing, which has the [[MixAndMatchCritters head of a jackal and the wings of a bat]].
* In ''VideoGame/DragonsWake'' the player character is adopted by a village of friendly lizardfolk.
* The Gajuma in ''VideoGame/TalesOfRebirth''. They consist mostly of various anthropomorphic mammals, with a few avians, as well.
* Freya Crescent from ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyIX'' is Burmecian, which is a race of anthropomorphic rats. Also, a good percentage of the NPC population is made up of anthropomorphic hippos and whatnot.
* Characters in ''VideoGame/StarFox''. ''All'' of them.
** Except Prince (well, King now) Tricky and the other dinosaurs.
*** [[NamesToRunAwayFromReallyFast General]] [[ReptilesAreAbhorrent Scales]]. Clearly Saurian enough to count as "dinosaur".
* Female animal characters in the ''VideoGame/SlyCooper'' games.
** Sly Cooper, a male animal character, is a Borderline PZP.
* Several of the characters in the ''VideoGame/SonicTheHedgehog'' series are Borderline PZP, as their bodies are much more humanoid than their real-life animal counterparts, but they aren't quite humanoid enough.
* The Rawulf race of the later ''VideoGame/{{Wizardry}}'' games are described as descended from dogs. Their statline emphasizes vitality and piety, making them excellent priests and especially valkyries for the females.
* The Rabbits and Pigs from ''VideoGame/{{SWINE}}''.
* ''Franchise/TheElderScrolls'':
** The [[MassiveRaceSelection playable races]] include the Argonians and Khajiit, LizardFolk and CatFolk respectively. To note:
*** The Argonians are native to the swamps of Black Marsh (which they call Argonia), where they worship [[WiseTree sentient]] and [[TimeAbyss ancient]] trees known as the Hist. The Argonians face perhaps the most FantasticRacism out of any race in Tamriel, owing in large part to the ReptilesAreAbhorrent beliefs of the other races, as well as their [[BlueAndOrangeMorality strange beliefs and practices]] which cause them to come across as {{Cloud Cuckoolander}}s to non-Argonians. (For example, [[LanguageEqualsThought their language]], "Jel", has no past or future tense verbs. Thus they tend to "live in the now" much more than any other race.)
*** The Khajiit are native to the deserts of Elsweyr. There are 17 known sub-breeds of Khajiit, with the sub-breed determined by the [[AlienSky phases of the moons]] under which the Khajiit was born. The appearance of the sub-breeds can vary wildly, ranging from house-cats through various humanoid forms to quadrupeds large enough to be ridden as [[BeastOfBattle Beasts Of Battle]]. Culturally, the Khajiit (with their cross-continent [[ProudMerchantRace merchant caravans]], propensity for stealth, and being the frequent victims of FantasticRacism) [[CultureChopSuey draw heavily from the Roma]]. Their [[LanguageEqualsThought language]], Ta'agra, has no word for "rules", which can obviously lead to issues in the lands of other cultures where the Khajiit's actions may be interpreted as "theft." Finally, as a race, the Khajiit are highly susceptible to [[FantasticDrug Moon Sugar]] addiction. (As well as its more potent derivative, Skooma.)
** Several other "Beast Races" are known to exist in or around Tamriel, though a few have gone extinct. These include the Imga (intelligent great apes) of Valenwood, the Sload "slug-men" of Thras (one of which appears in the ''[[VideoGame/TheElderScrollsAdventuresRedguard Redguard]]'' spin-off game), [[ALoadOfBull Minotaurs]], [[FishPeople Dreugh]], the extinct Lilmothiit "Fox Folk" of Black Marsh, and the extinct "[[BirdPeople Bird Men]]" who were the original inhabitants of the Imperial City Isle. [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent Werewolves]] and [[OurWerebeastsAreDifferent other Werebeasts]] are also prevalent.
** At least two, possibly three, of the known [[{{Wutai}} Akaviri]] races qualify. They are the Tang Mo "[[EverythingsBetterWithMonkeys Monkey Folk]]", the Ka Po' Tun "Tiger Folk", and, possibly, the Tsaesci "[[SnakePeople Snake Vampires]]". (Sources heavily conflict regarding the Tsaesci, giving them something of a MultipleChoicePast depending on the storyteller. It's possible they aren't snake-like at all.)
** For more information on all of these (and more), please see [[Characters/TheElderScrollsTheBeastRaces The Beast Races]] sub-page.
* Felicia from ''VideoGame/{{Darkstalkers}}'' is a borderline case between this trope and LittleBitBeastly.
* The majority of female characters in ''VideoGame/CrashBandicoot'', though Tawna and the ''Videogame/CrashTeamRacing'' trophy girls are standout examples. Coco Bandicoot and Pasadena Opossum border as such DependingOnTheArtist.
* One of the most immediately apparent distinguishing characteristics of the ''Franchise/BreathOfFire'' series.
** They and one or two LittleBitBeastly characters comprise a decreasingly large portion of the playable characters as the series goes on, culminating in the most recent game lacking playable PZP s entirely.
* Some Franchise/{{Pokemon}}, such as Lucario and Lopunny, resemble animals with humanoid bodies. Machoke is the straightest example, as it resembles a reptilian head on a completely human body.
* Most characters from ''Creator/RandleSimRacing'' are Petting Zoo People. From LizardFolk like Sliimyscaly and Lizzie, to BirdPeople like Daveybird Randle, RSR is big on this.
** And more recently, they have had more human-bodied PZP, like Daveybird.
* ''VideoGame/UnwrittenLegends'', like most [[MultiUserDungeon MUDS]] has a couple of races that qualify. Namely, cat and dog people.
* In ''VideoGame/InheritTheEarth'', the entire cast is like this, more or less, due to human genetic experiments before they went extinct.
* ''VideoGame/{{Avernum}}'' has the Slithzerikai and Nephilim / Nepharim, which are lizard and cat people respectively.
* ''VideoGame/{{Solatorobo}}'' is populated by [[{{Dogfaces}} Caninu]] and [[CatFolk Felineko]].
* Several [[RidiculouslyHumanRobots Reploids]] in the ''VideoGame/MegaManX'' series are themed after animals, namely the bosses. Some of them aren't so strange (as the animals they're based on have been Petting Zoo People before), such as Tunnel Rhino, Slash Beast (a lion), and Bamboo [[PandaingToTheAudience Panda]][[IncrediblyLamePun monium]], and then, there are the strange choices, such as Jet Stingray, Shield Sheldon (a ''scallop''), and then, based on [[SeldomSeenSpecies one of the most obscure creatures in fiction]], the ''[[http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/4e/Daphnia_pulex.png water flea]]'' Reploid known as [[http://images.wikia.com/megaman/images/a/a4/Mmx6infinitymijinion.jpg Infinity Mijinion]]. It's likely you'll never see a [[NinjaPirateZombieRobot Petting Zoo water flea android]] ever again.
* ''VisualNovel/{{Morenatsu}}'' is a VisualNovel about your character meeting up with nine male anthropomorphic beasts and romancing them.
* ''VideoGame/DungeonMakerIITheHiddenWar'' has several enemies like this, including the [[{{Catgirl}} nekomatas]], [[CatFolk war tigers]], and the [[OurOrcsAreDifferent boar-like orcs]].
* ''VideoGame/NewWorldsAteraan'' has felines, lykos (wolf-like), and nykos (jackal-like) as playable races. Comparing members of the race to their animal counterparts is seen as an insult.
* ''Franchise/{{Thunderscape}}'' has LizardFolk rapacians, and [[AWizardDidIt magically created]] humanoid-animal hybrids ferrans. The game has feline, canine, reptile, eagle [=PCs=] (who only differ with character portraits) and a rhino NPC; the novels mention much more species.
* Green County in ''VideoGame/HiddenAgenda'' is populated by them.
* ''VideoGame/FiveNightsAtFreddys'' and its sequels play this for NightmareFuel. You are alone at night in a SuckECheeses restaurant (or a horror attraction inspired by it) with [[HauntedTechnology haunted]] UncannyValley animatronic animal mascot characters who [[HellIsThatNoise scream at you]] and then kill you if they catch you. The third game also has a ShoutOut to the UsefulNotes/FurryFandom, when the dude on the phone mentions cosplay and the possibility of having you wear a "furry suit".
* ''VideoGame/RuneScape'' has several.
** The god Armadyl and his race the Aviansie are anthropomoric Birds of Prey.
** Although it never has been shown in the game, the god Bandos's concept art shows that underneath his armor he looks like an anthropomorphic rhinoceros with two ExtraEyes, [[EyeScream one of which he lost]]. An earlier design that is no longer canon had him look like a pig.
** Several of the gods of the Kharidian desert are like this, as they are based on the Egytpian gods mentioned above. One of them, Scabaras is a beetle man, who turned his loyal worphipers into beetle people in his own image as a reward. Amascut used to commonly appear as a lion headed woman (ironically she now fears cats). The others include Icthlarin (Jackal), Crondis (crocodile), and Apemeken (monkey, ape, or baboon depending on her mood), and possibly an unnamed camel headed god that Akthanakos sometimes took the appearance of.
** The Dragonkin are Anthropomoric dragons. Despite the name, they actually existed before dragons. Dragons are the result of their experiments in creating a new race based on themselves but without Jas's curse. In early appearances that have now been retconned they resembled vultures, as they were inspired by the Skeksis from ''Film/TheDarkCrystal''.
** The Ilujanka or Dragon Riders are LizardFolk. They are not related to the Dragonkin despite their similarities.
** The Drakewing and King Black Dragon cosmetic overrides make the player look like anthropomorphic dragons.
** [[OurVampiresAreDifferent Vampyres]] ranked Vyrewatch or higher or who have gone feral resemble bats.
** Transformed werewolves are wolf like humanoids.
** A few other monsters that resemble humanoid animals include the Airut (boar like creatures) and Minotaurs.
** Two kinds of monsters from the Fight cave, the Yt-[=MejKot=] and Yt-[=HurKot=], used to look like lizard men wearing robes but have been changed to resemble the other lava creature in the fight cave.
** The Nihils are a [[MixAndMatchCritter mixture of Demon, Aviansie, Vampyre, and Icyene.]]
* [[WorldOfFunnyAnimals Everybody]] in the currently unfinished [[UsefullNotes/FurryFandom furry]] [[RomanceGame Romance]] HGame ''VideoGame/{{Amorous}}'' (except possibly the player character if you choose to give him a more human appearance). As of version 0.8 the characters you can romance include a cute lizard, a tiger who is an aspiring writer, an effeminate bird boy [[FlirtyStepsiblings who is also your stepbrother]], a fox who likes to dress up and dye her fur to look like video game characters like [[Franchise/{{Digimon}} Renamon]] and [[Franchise/{{Pokemon}} Lucario]], a male to female transgender [[FaunsAndSatyrs satyr]], a rabbit who is [[LikesOlderWomen much older that the player character]], an AmbiguousGender husky punk, a huge muscular dragon, a cute lizard man, and a lion man.
** The makers of Amorous were also working on a BeatEmUp game called Bare Backstreets where a lizard man named Vergence fights waves of enemy Petting Zoo People by [[ClothingDamage knocking their clothes off]]. This game is now VaporWare
* In ''VideoGame/KultHereticKingdoms'', the Taymurians are basically wolf-people. Some humans treat them as animals, hunting them for their pelts; naturally, this makes them disinclined to cooperate with humans, but Alita can change their minds by taking out some hunters.
* Lamb, [[LiteralSplitPersonality one half of the champion]] [[http://vignette2.wikia.nocookie.net/leagueoflegends/images/a/a6/Kindred_OriginalSkin.jpg/revision/latest/scale-to-width-down/1000?cb=20151014145949 Kindred, the Eternal Hunters]] from ''VideoGame/LeagueOfLegends'', is this. As her name suggests, she's a bipedal humanoid whose body is completely covered with white fleece and has unguligrade feet and a tail. However [[NoFaceUnderTheMask instead of a face she wears a black wolf mask]]; her partner (and other half) Wolf, who wears the matching white lamb mask, definitely does ''not'' fit this trope, being a flying spectral disembodied wolf head.
* Another video game by the Furry Fandom is the VisualNovel VisualNovel/MajorMinor.
* In ''VideoGame/AviaryAttorney'', you play as a an attorney in 1848, Paris, in a WorldOfFunnyAnimals. The game uses art by [[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jean_Ignace_Isidore_G%C3%A9rard_Grandville J. J. Grandville]], a 19th century French Caricaturist who used Petting Zoo People in his art. Most characters are human with animal heads and sometimes necks. Some appear to have fur or feathers on their bodies and cats can extend claws, but most have relatively human proportions and very human hands. A few, including a cat, a frog, and penguins, have more animal-like bodies.
* A number of Commanders in the mobile game ''Ark of War'', such as Nekojiro (cat), Kid (rat), and Kakarrot (shark, with four arms). Also the characters on the Forge Ship (stag), Cargo Hold (shark), and Research Lab (doe).
* Several monsters from ''VideoGame/{{Undertale}}'' look like this, such as Toriel who looks like a mixture of a human, rabbit, and a goat. Toriel may have been inspired by a creature from Irish mythology called a puca, which often appeared a humanoid with goat or rabbit like features.
* A few playable races in ''VideoGame/WorldOfWarcraft'' are this. Namely, the [[ALoadOfBull Tauren]], [[WolfMan Worgen]], and [[PandaingToTheAudience Pandaren]]. Outside of the playable races, there's also [[SnakePeople Naga]], [[BearsAreBadNews Furbolgs]], [[FishPeople Murlocs]], [[WilyWalrus Tuskarr]], [[PigMan Quilboars]], [[HarpingOnAboutHarpies Harpies]], and lots of assorted minor races.
* ''VideoGame/{{Stellaris}}'' features a lot of these as playable races, togheter with PlantAliens, [[MushroomMan Mushroom Aliens]] and StarfishAliens.
* ''VideoGame/BeyondGoodAndEvil'': A bonafide petting zoo, Hillys is home to your run of the mill cat people, a little more exotic goat people or fairly exotic shark people. Pig people, walrus people, rhinoceros people and more exist.
* ''VideoGame/{{Overgrowth}}'' You play as a badass anthropomorphic ninja rabbit.
* ''VideoGame/{{Starbound}}'' features an entire universe full of these. Among the playable races you will find the [[BeastMan Apex]], the [[BirdPeople Avian]] and the [[FishPeople Hylotl]], on the outpost you will meet a family of bears, a [[FrogMen Frogg]], maybe a fox-like Fenerox. Then on your travels you can encounter BraveScot [[OurCentaursAreDifferent Alpaca centaurs]] or invite the Maggot Man to your colony. And then some modders decided that that's not enough.
* ''VideoGame/MasterOfTheMonsterLair'': A large, large number of enemies, to various different levels: [[CatFolk warcats]], [[FemaleFelineMaleMutt wardogs]], [[LizardFolk humanosaurs]], King Leon (lion), otter warriors... the list goes on for quite a while. Surprisingly, only one enemy type qualifies as being merely a LittleBitBeastly: the forked cat and its stronger types.
* ''VideoGame/KyleAndLucyWonderworld'': Most of the cast is comprised of Petting Zoo People, including two cats, two foxes, and one ape.
* With the exception of ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyTactics'', the ''VideoGame/IvaliceAlliance'' games have several races that look like animals with human bodies. There's the Bangaa filling in the role of brutish LizardFolk. The Viera are a race of tall and slender bunny people. The Moogles are a race of short furry people looking a mix of a rabbit, a bat, and a mole. The Seeq are the fantasy PigMan. The Nu Mou are a race of hunched over canine-like beings. Lastly, the Gria are a race of DraconicHumanoid where they have horns on their heads and can fly with their wings. Humans are also in the mix.
* The beastmen in ''VideoGame/FinalFantasyXIV'' are mostly animalistic looking with vaguely human looking bodies (lizardmen, catfish, turtles, fishmen, etc). The Anata are the only exception to the rule since their design is more based on the nagas (lower half being a snake and the upper half having human features).
* The Zora in various ''Franchise/TheLegendOfZelda'' games are FishPeople where their bodies are mostly human but their heads look more like a fish. ''VideoGame/TheLegendOfZeldaBreathOfTheWild'' takes it a step further by making all the Zoras with shark-like heads.
* In ''VideoGame/SpeedKills'', most of the race contestants are human or human-ish -- but Fyodor, for reasons not explored, is a humanoid anteater who wears a bow tie and quotes Dostoyevsky.

* Creator/JayNaylor designs all of his furry characters this way.
* ''Webcomic/{{CHEVALIER}}'': The animal characters in this romantic fantasy adventure are a prime example. [[http://www.theduckwebcomics.com/Chevalier Here.]]
* The cast of ''Webcomic/TheCyantianChronicles'' are mostly human-animal hybrids created by an [[{{Precursors}} ancient alien race]], largely divided into digitigrade Ricael (wolves, foxes, coyotes, jackals...), and plantigrade Talin (rabbits, mice, sheep, mounties aka felines...). But there's also quite a few aliens of this form and some new hybrids (most notably fruit-scented skunks and psychic raccoons) created by the fox.
* ''Webcomic/{{Dogfight}}'' uses anthropomorphic animals and combines them with WorldOfBadass to create interesting fight scenes.
* ''Webcomic/{{Lackadaisy}}'' takes place in an American 1920's where all humans are cats. Other animals such as dogs and pigs exist as we know them; so even though the reader perceives the characters as cats, they are truly and essentially human.
* The heroine of the webcomic ''Webcomic/{{Freefall}}'' is a genetically engineered wolflike humanoid who carries with her a ton of instincts, most of which she can control by concentrating. Her running commentary of how she fits into human society is one of the highlights of the series.
** Just to give you a taste: Florence had to practice ventriloquism to be able to talk right, because she can't use her lips to say P, M, or B. She has to hold herself back from chasing small moving things (she has at least once leapt from a moving vehicle when someone threw a ball). She can hear sounds in a range humans can't, so some places that are quiet to humans are very loud to her, and she had to learn not to shout over sounds nobody but she hears.
** And she really ''must'' remember not to bare her fangs when [[TechnicallyASmile imitating a human smile]]. Although, her horrific grin allows her to get her own way a lot.
** She also can't see all colours, so she carries a device that names objects' colours for her, in case it's important (probably good, considering that her occupation is nuclear engineer). She mentions once having dyed her fur blue because her friends said she looked good in blue - the result didn't exactly work out.
** Sam Starfall from the same comic is implied to be a {{Cthulhumanoid}} under his suit.
* In ''Webcomic/TwoKinds'', the Wolf-tribe of Keidrans are the most militaristic beastmen faction. One of their princes was supposed to marry a high-ranking politician from the Tiger tribe to legally join forces and take revenge on humanity. There are also dog-keidrans and fox-keidrans.
** Basitins, which are a feline-like species separate from the Keidrans, also count.
* Kira (fox) and Toby (lion) from ''Webcomic/ChivalryAndKnavery''. They describe themselves as humans who have animals among their ancestors, but the details are never elaborated beyond "AWizardDidIt."
* Every character in ''Webcomic/ClosedGate''.
* There are [[CatFolk Tiger People]] visible in the [[http://www.exiern.com/?p=47 background]] of several ''Webcomic/{{Exiern}}'' strips, probably due to its FantasyKitchenSink premise.
* In ''Webcomic/EverydayHeroes'', Uma Quipleure and her father resemble cows. Pity the poor guy who accidentally called Uma a [[http://eheroes.smackjeeves.com/comics/1923205/dont-have-a-fit/ stupid cow]] (which would be like calling a human girl a "big ape"). Uma can also make [[http://eheroes.smackjeeves.com/comics/1923206/an-alien-concept/ good use]] of {{Hammerspace}}.
* In ''Webcomic/ElGoonishShive'', the {{Shape Shifter Default Form}}s of Guineas and Hedge fall under this as do some Seyunolu's (Chimera's) seen in Ellen's Second Life.
* The Ambis in ''Webcomic/{{Jix}}'' bear a slight resemblance to foxes. This was later explained by the fact that a different race of aliens abducted a group of proto-Ambis and planted them on Earth as an experiment and they evolved into foxes. Humans frequently mistake Ambis for "oddly colored dogs".
* GELF in ''Webcomic/{{RankAmateur}}'' are usuallly this. The Virtual Intelligence programs are almost always given this form by their host AIs, as it is supposed to be user-friendly.
* ''Webcomic/{{Zodiac}}'' applies this trope to the Superhero genre.
* ''Webcomic/BittersweetCandyBowl'' has a cast of cats and dogs. Oddly, there are also non-anthropormophic birds, hedgehogs, and lizards which have humanlike intelligence.
* ''Webcomic/SacredGrounds'' has several PZP in its cast.
* ''Webcomic/OzyAndMillie'' takes place in a world completely of PZP, although it's supposed to be an alternate version of our world (the setting is UsefulNotes/{{Seattle}}). Still, real world people have been mentioned but never seen such as Music/JohnLennon, Creator/OscarWilde and UsefulNotes/GeorgeWBush. So whether they're talking about animal versions of said celebrities or humans exist but are just never shown is unknown.
* ''Webcomic/{{Terinu}}'' has the Vulpine, which are anthro foxes, and the Galapados (anthro lizards) which exist beside races like the Galen, who are a LittleBitBeastly and the Ferin, who are... god only knows.
* ''Webcomic/{{Outworld}}'' is a sci-fi webcomic that features Petting Zoo People as its main cast.
* ''Webcomic/TowerOfGod'' has Rak, a giant, humanoid BloodKnight alligator and Gyetang, a walking bird with a giant shuriken on his back.
* ''Webcomic/TheStoryOfAnima'' has the Beastkin, [[http://tapastic.com/episode/53451 a race of humanoid animal people living alongside humans]].
* ''[[http://j-harper.deviantart.com/art/DECEIT-cover-466313984 Deceit]] and [[http://j-harper.deviantart.com/art/Unsoundness-of-Mind-Page-1-526070983 Unsoundness of Mind]] by J-Harper takes a militaristic few on this involving special forces.
* ''Webcomic/{{Curtailed}}'' is a {{life embellished}} comic, so the people in it are actually human. They're just ''drawn'' as anthropomorphic animals.
* ''Webcomic/DNATheWebcomic'' features genetically engineered children with super powers who have a combination of features from several different animals, known as species X. Other genetically engineered creatures also exist in this comic but haven't been shown yet.
* ''Webcomic/{{Homestuck}}'' has a few character like this. [[spoiler: Jack Noir steals the black queen's ring which gives him the traits of anything placed into the sprites before they enter the medium, and so when Jade enters the medium after Bequerel is combined with her sprite, he becomes a black humanoid dog, with wings and tentacles from the other objects put into the sprites. Later in the comic, PM finds the white queen's ring and becomes a similar winged dog.]] The comic also has a lot of references to the [[UsefullNotes/FurryFandom Furry Fandom]]. Equius has an obsession with Furry muscle fetish art, which Homestuck's author used to give Ironic reviews of. Dirk Strider also has some disturbing furry images (some of which are of people in animal fetish costumes) appearing on a screen in his room. In one Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff comic they appear as badly draw furry versions of themselves.
* ''Webcomic/ForestHill'' take place on a future version of earth that resembles TheNineties populated by Petting Zoo People who worship [[HumanitysWake now disappeared humanity.]]
* Isla Grace from ''Webcomic/ProfessorAmazingAndTheIncredibleGoldenFox'': receives a fox-shaped engagement ring from her husband-to-be, Parker, which gifts her with the ability to transform into a fox (both anthropomorphic and full fox versions). She then feels it's only appropriate to put her new powers to use in the service of her community.
* The cast of ''Webcomic/SequentialArt'' has a variety of these, including Kathleen the cat, Pip the penguin, and four squirrels which share a flat together, as well as the occasional appearance of the Kat's friend Vanity (also a cat) from college, and her JerkWithAHeartOfJerk bunny rival Hilary. The two exceptions in the main cast are Art who is the TokenHuman, and their TeamPet platypus who doesn't speak.
* [[WolfMan Welves]] and whatever the [[CatFolk potions shopkeeper is]] in ''Webcomic/CharbyTheVampirate''.
* Lord Womble of ''Webcomic/GirlGenius'' is a unicorn version of this, presumably his appearance was achieved by spark experiments though how he was made is not addressed.
* All of the characters in ''Roleplay/RubyQuest'' are anthropomorphic animals (based on characters from ''VideoGame/AnimalCrossing''), although due to the simplistic art style it's just limited to UnusualEars. [[TheProtagonist Ruby]] is a rabbit, Tom is a cat, Red is a fox, Stitches is a bear, Daisy is a dog, Filbert is a squirrel, Bella is a mouse, and Jay is a bird.
* Some characters in ''Webcomic/TheAccidentalSpaceSpy'' are just humans with fur or colored skin. The protagonist faces a dilemma at one point when he is not sure whether his love interest is a “petting zoo person” or has a more horrifying BizarreAlienBiology.

[[folder:Web Original]]
* All characters in ''WebOriginal/TheColmatonUniverse'' are this, as the main rule of the verse is that humans only exist in fiction.
* In ''Literature/{{Addergoole}}'', a significant portion of fae have a "true form" that falls under borderline PZP, or else LittleBitBeastly
* Every character in ''Literature/TrintonChronicles'' are animals evolved partly to human-form.
* The ''Literature/{{Legatum}}'' series has several races that are basically bipedal animal-like creatures. Most notable are the [[RatMen murids]], [[DraconicHumanoid drakos]], [[LizardFolk stilios]], [[FrogMen ranas]], and [[FishPeople fiscians]].
* Everyone from ''Literature/{{Tasakeru}}'' is this.
* ''WebOriginal/OrionsArm'' has Splices and Rianths, who are Petting Zoo People created out of humans and animals via LegoGenetics. The difference between a Splice and a Rianth is based on their clade's origins (Rianths are usually descended from humans who made themselves more bestial, while splices tend to be descendants of genetically modified slaves), and is pretty muddled in general.
* The ''Literature/TailsSeries'' has anthros, a race of anthropomorphic creatures who all dress, talk, and walk like regular human beings do.
* Website/FourChan has /trash/'s mascot/"board-tan", [[SarcasmMode cleverly]] named Trish. Unlike every other mascot (even /[[Franchise/MyLittlePony mlp]]/ has a human mascot, heavily based on /co/'s, natch), Trish is a very fat opossum who lives in a dump (literally and figuratively, this ''is'' a board called /trash/), dresses like a trucker, and is generally difficult to be with through her lack of hygiene.
* The ''Wiki/SCPFoundation'' has [[http://www.scp-wiki.net/scp-1471 SCP-1471-A]], a creepy furry humanoid with a canine skull for a face who haunts people who download a strange phone application. Although scary, it seems to only want to make sure you are never alone.

[[folder:Western Animation]]
* Minerva Mink and [[OurWerewolvesAreDifferent werewolf]] form Wilford B. Wolf from ''WesternAnimation/{{Animaniacs}}''.
* Julie Bruin, Margot Mallard, Binky Bunny, and Bimbette the skunk from ''WesternAnimation/TinyToonAdventures''.
** Arnold the Pit Bull is a borderline PZP.
* The cast of ''WesternAnimation/MoiRenart'', with furries who have almost photo-realistic bodies in modern-day Paris.
* Mousey Galore from ''WesternAnimation/PinkyAndTheBrain''.
* Lola Bunny, Melissa Duck, and Hatta Mari (a pigeon from "Plane Daffy") from ''WesternAnimation/LooneyTunes''.
** Tina Russo from the new ''WesternAnimation/TheLooneyTunesShow''.
** Lola Bunny is more of a borderline Petting Zoo Person in ''WesternAnimation/TheLooneyTunesShow''.
* The Creator/MaeWest horse from the Creator/VanBeurenStudios short "Galloping Fanny", and the Mae West duck in "Mild Cargo".
* Plenty of the cast in ''WesternAnimation/TheJungleShow'' have pretty human features.
* The majority of humanlike animal characters in ''WesternAnimation/{{Arthur}}'' are Petting Zoo People but some of them are an edge case of LittleBitBeastly.
** For example, Buster Baxter is a Petting Zoo Person because his head looks reasonably rabbitlike, but his mother and father border on LittleBitBeastly because their heads look like human heads with rabbit ears and noses on them.
* Cleo from ''WesternAnimation/HeathcliffAndTheCatillacCats'', although falling most into HumanoidFemaleAnimal territory.
* Kitty Katswell from ''WesternAnimation/TUFFPuppy'' is a straight example of PZP and Dudley Puppy is a borderline example.
* The main cast of ''WesternAnimation/LoonaticsUnleashed''.
* The main cast of ''WesternAnimation/RoadRovers'' are normal dogs who get turned into Petting Zoo People by a mysterious scientist known as "The Master".
* The ''WesternAnimation/SWATKats'' cast, though some of the characters are Borderline LittleBitBeastly.
* WesternAnimation/{{Goofy}}, [[WesternAnimation/GoofTroop Max]], [[ComicBook/DisneyDucksComicUniverse Gyro Gearloose]], and [[WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987 Launchpad McQuack]] are different from MickeyMouse and DonaldDuck, fitting Borderline PZP or PZP more than they do FunnyAnimal. While they do have obviously dishuman features they are still far more humanoid than most of Disney's creations in the animal zoo world they live in.
** But Goofy's prototype, Dippy Dawg, was [[HalfDressedCartoonAnimal halfdressed]] and more or less a FunnyAnimal.
** In a similar vein to the above, the three Nephews and Daisy were shifted into a borderline PZP style during ''WesternAnimation/QuackPack''. Donald, however, retained his standard design (although his body stands up a little straighter than normal, but not by enough to change where he falls).
** Fenton Crackshell's girlfriend Gandree Dee in ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'' is very much a PZP.
* Ren's parents from ''[[WesternAnimation/TheRenAndStimpyShow Ren & Stimpy "Adult Party Cartoon"]]''.
* The mice in the more recent CG ''WesternAnimation/AngelinaBallerina'' OVA are either Petting Zoo People or Borderline PZP, unlike the mice in the original version of the series.
* Mirage from the ''Disney/{{Aladdin}}'' series. In the words of WebVideo/TheNostalgiaChick, "Why does she have a cat head... who cares?"
* Many of the female cats in ''WesternAnimation/TomAndJerry'' including Toodles Galore are either PZP or borderline PZP.
* Mordecai on ''WesternAnimation/RegularShow'' is a naked humanoid blue jay, somewhere between a FunnyAnimal and a Borderline PZP. His crush, Margaret (a robin), is even closer to this trope, as is Rigby's older brother Don (despite also being nude). Mordecai's somewhat humanoid design contrasts quite a lot with Rigby's raccoon appearance, which isn't humanized that much.
** Despite being about the same size as Rigby, Eileen probably counts. She's a mole with a FurryFemaleMane, [[NonMammalMammaries human-like breasts]], and "fur" the color of a human skintone. Only her tail makes it obvious she's not human.
* Fox from ''WesternAnimation/SkunkFu'' is a Borderline PZP.
* About half the cast of ''WesternAnimation/{{Animalympics}}''.
* Most of the cast from ''WesternAnimation/TazMania''.
* In the second cartoon series of ''WesternAnimation/AlvinAndTheChipmunks'', the Chipmunks are the size of 9-year-old human children but have the heads of rodents. In the case of the Chipettes, there should be an emphasis on the "people" part: they have animal-like faces, but they have human hair and apparently no fur apart from it (borderline the LittleBitBeastly).
* Lieutenant M'Ress in ''WesternAnimation/StarTrekTheAnimatedSeries''.
* Creator/{{Terrytoons}}' ''WesternAnimation/MightyMouse'' is an example of TopHeavyGuy as well as this trope.
* In ''WesternAnimation/{{Thundercats 2011}}'' the main cast of Thundercats are BeastFolk [[{{Catfolk}} Cats]], but other Animals, like [[{{Dogfaces}} Dogs]] [[LizardFolk Lizards]] and {{Fishmen}} are designed as this type.
* ''WesternAnimation/TurtleIsland'' is set in a world full of PZP, with likes similar to ''Ozy and Millie'' (see Web Comics above).
* A painting of King Julien that Maurice was painting in one episode of ''WesternAnimation/ThePenguinsOfMadagascar'' depicts him with this appearance.
* In ''WesternAnimation/MuzzyInGondoland'' most inhabitants of Gondoland look like dogs. Goblinoid Corvax was supposed to be a bat. Extraplanetary Muzzy is a green [[BearyFunny bear]]. The king looks like a lion.
* The characters of the French-Canadian {{Animesque}} show ''WesternAnimation/TheMysteriesOfAlfredHedgehog'' fit this trope, and with some characters, it's closer to Borderline LBB. Humanlike hair on male characters, some characters pretty much lacking a muzzle and just having a fur-covered human face with an animal-like nose, and (most surprisingly) humanlike ears are featured.
* Fully half the cast of ''WesternAnimation/BoJackHorseman''.
* ''WesternAnimation/WordParty'': The main characters are baby animals. And they behave like human toddlers.
* Several animated shows of WesternAnimation/TheDisneyAfternoon block like ''WesternAnimation/TaleSpin'', ''WesternAnimation/DuckTales1987'' and ''WesternAnimation/DarkwingDuck'' occurred in universes of Borderline PZP. Darkwing even travels to [[RealWorldEpisode our universe]] in one episode discovering the existence of humans for the first time ala Film/HowardTheDuck.
** Averted in the cases of ''WesternAnimation/GummiBears'' and ''WesternAnimation/ChipNDaleRescueRangers'', both shows are set in the human world. In the first (during the Middle Ages) the existence of the anthropomorphic bears the Gummi bears is unknown for most humans and they’re considered a legend. In the second all the [[FunnyAnimals animals walk, act and dress like humans when humans aren't watching]] although rodents are much more humanoid than other animals following this trope much closer (like Gadget and Monterrey).
* Some shows have a curious mix: Borderline Petting Zoo People exist alongside humans in the same world, but they never meet, cases of ''WesternAnimation/PiggsburgPigs'' and ''WesternAnimation/TheRaccoons'', even more curiously is that in both shows the [[CivilizedAnimal anthropomorphic animals have an entire civilization]] with cities (albeit small rural cities), technology, automobiles and planes that humans never find out.
* ''WesternAnimation/{{Babar}}'' has an interesting approach; almost a child-friendly version of Dr. Moreau. All the animals are normal at first, but after the little orphan elephant Babar goes to Paris and gets "civilized" he brings civilization with him to Africa teaching other elephants (and latter all animals in the jungle) to dress, act and live like animals all of them turning anthropomorphic in design. This, of course, hasn’t being absent of [[UnfortunateImplications criticism as an alleged metaphor of imperialism]].
* ''WesternAnimation/TheGetAlongGang'' plays the trope straight; all characters have animals heads and human bodies, and sometimes a tail.
* ''WesternAnimation/CountDuckula'' with the borderline PZP case and only using birds of all kind instead of humans (and vampires).
* Three of the students at ''WesternAnimation/GravedaleHigh'' were anthropomorphic animals that looked human from the neck down. They are Dog-Faced Boy, Elephant Boy, and a pig girl named Suey.
* The majority of the cast of the Hungarian animated series ''WesternAnimation/KeremAKovetkezot''.
* ''WesternAnimation/PigCity'': Everyone in this world is a pig person. The reason this trope isn't listed under PigMan is because there are prominently-featured female characters as well.
* In ''WesternAnimation/SheRaAndThePrincessesOfPower'', Etheria is populated by many humanoid races, some with animalistic features. Catra is a cat-person, Scorpia has scorpion features, and Hordak has a bat-like nose and ears [[spoiler:and the cloned fetuses in his laboratory have bat wings]]. Throughout the series, viewers see goat-people, lizard-people, and even an octopus-woman.

* ''Manga/OnePiece'':

* ''ComicBook/CerebusTheAardvark'' is a humanoid aardvark.

[[folder:Comic Strips]]
* Thornton the polar bear from ''ComicStrip/ShermansLagoon''.
* Mother Goose from ''ComicStrip/MotherGooseAndGrimm''.
* The characters in ''ComicStrip/MyCage'' are half-petting Zoo People/half-Funny animal. Taking place in a world where all the humans mysteriously disappeared off the face of the earth leaving the animals to take over and evolve into humanoid forms.

[[/folder]]

[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films -- Animation]]
* Kitty Mouse from ''Disney/TheGreatMouseDetective'' is an example, though a lot of the other mice are Borderline PZP.
* All the animals in ''WesternAnimation/FantasticMrFox'' except the dogs, chickens, and wolf are either PZP or borderline PZP.
* Dr. Delbert Doppler, Captain Amelia, and their children from ''Disney/TreasurePlanet''.
* The rats in ''WesternAnimation/FlushedAway''.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:Films -- Live-Action]]
* ''Franchise/PlanetOfTheApes''.

* This is an UnbuiltTrope in ''Literature/TheIslandOfDoctorMoreau''.
[[/folder]]

* Some creatures in Myth/ClassicalMythology, like the [[ALoadOfBull Minotaur]].

[[folder:Pinballs]]

* In ''Pinball/PoliceForce'', the police officers are Petting Zoo People, sporting human-like proportions and wearing clothes that almost completely cover their bodies.
* The Magic Shoppe proprietor in ''Pinball/MagicGirl'' is a humanoid hare with five-fingered hands, wearing an earring and an armored vest.

[[folder:Roleplay]]
* All the people in ''Roleplay/NexusGate'' are Petting Zoo People of some sort. Most species of animal can be found though a few, such as various fish, are restricted by the game's rules.
* ''Roleplay/{{AJCO}}'' has a few -- mostly canine in appearance, and [[spoiler: quite a few of them are dead now]].
** Minor character Ed is the only feline example [[spoiler: until he kicked the bucket at the hands of A_J]].

[[folder:Sports]]

* ''Franchise/TheElderScrolls'':
* ''VideoGame/RuneScape'' has several.

* The cast of ''WebAnimation/TrueTail''.
* ''Website/CollegeHumor'''s Furry Force series, a parody of the [[{{Yiff}} sexual side]] of the UsefulNotes/FurryFandom, is about a group of super heroes who turn into furries, driving the [[IneffectualSympatheticVillain poor villains]] [[DrivenToSuicide to suicide]] with their [[NauseaFuel digusting]] sexiness. [[folder:Web Comics]]
* Every character in ''Webcomic/ClosedGate''.
[[/folder]]

* Mousey Galore from ''WesternAnimation/PinkyAndTheBrain''.
* Lieutenant M'Ress in ''WesternAnimation/StarTrekTheAnimatedSeries''.

Beast Man is a subtrope of Monstrous Humanoid and doesn't really fit as subtrope of this trope; and since Wolf Man is a subtrope of Beast Man, it goes off as well. Meanwhile, Snake People actually covers a range of possible morphologies that include having perfectly humanlike heads, arms and torsos on otherwise serpentine bodies.
