History Characters / X1999

Like Subaru, Seishirou is not actually close to his fellows and pretty much follows his own path. However, his role in the awakening of Kamui and Fuma was determinant. He is also the murderer of Hokuto Sumeragi, Subaru's sister and holds an [[OedipusComplex interesting relationship with his mom, Setsuka]]. He mostly takes on Subaru, his former lover and current ArchNemesis, and uses an evil version of his powers which often includes CherryBlossoms.

* OedipusComplex: His relationship with his mom, especially in the CD dramas, has heavy SubText, to the point [[spoiler:he even kisses her on the lips when he kills her in the manga]]. Possibly subverted by his inner thoughts that, due to her being an AbsurdlyYouthfulMother, he was never really sure that she was his true mother. The mentioned scene also had ritualistic undertones due to being a PassingTheTorch between magical assassins, so it might not necessarily imply anything on this direction... or the opposite.

* FieryRedhead: Averted for the most part, though she still can have quite of a personality when she wants. Her powers, on the other hand, are literally fiery.

* {{Bishonen}}: Several other characters openly state how good looking he is - and it's true!

* PrettyBoy: Subaru's one of CLAMP's most pretty characters and in X, he is always more beautiful than he is handsome, but this is made more apparent when [[spoiler: he grows out his hair longer, reminiscent of his teenage haircut after he becomes the new Sakurazukamori.]] He looks even more lovely and delicate than ever.

* {{Bishonen}}: To prove that Dragons of Earth have people in this sector as well.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: Her first appearances in the manga have her working Beast without shoes, but later drops the trait.

* DoesNotLikeShoes: Downplayed. Whenever she is seen on the street in her work clothes, she goes without shoes, though still with her stockings. This is probably due to practical reasons, as her work footwear is probably high-heeled and thus not very fit for hopping from roof to roof.

* {{Keigo}}: Her speech patterns are extremely polite, and in the CD-dramas she uses very old-fashioned words while writing a letter to her adoptive mother, the lead {{Miko}} of Ise Jingun.

* KansaiRegionalAccent. Which comes from the fact that the [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koyasan Kouya shrine]] is located in Wakayama, one of the prefectures in the Kansai area.

A very mannerly and well-groomed blond Public Service clerk, Yuto is one of the most amoral DeadpanSnarker and cynical of the Dragons of Earth. Not much is known about him except that he is pretty [[CardCarryingVillain happy to work for the Dragons of Earth]]. Additionally, he playfully flirts with his protegee Satsuki and sleeps regularly with Kanoe. In battle, he uses a long rope with a dagger at the tip that he uses [[WhipItGood like a whip]].

* WhipItGood: His weapon is a powered combination of sai dagger and whip, which is also his main power in the film.

* AuthorityEqualsAsskicking: Despite what many viewers of any gender may contend, blatant HoYay doesn't deprive you from being badass and from being able to kick major ass.

* AmbiguousDisorder: She vastly prefers computers over interacting with other people, and seems to be annoyed when people try to interact with her. She also has a distinct LackOfEmpathy as shown by her interactions with Yuzuriha. Asperger's?

TheHero of the series is a dark-haired teenager whose destiny is to fight for the eventual fate of Earth: either it is destroyed to be reborn without humanity, either it shall live on as it is. In short, he is a stock MessianicArchetype.

Both Fuma and Kotori, his sister, lived happily in Tokyo and were friends with Kamui until their mother Saya died a horrific death upon. Fuma then went to High School and became a famed basketball player. Upon meeting Kamui again, he tries to rekindle with him but, since Kamui wants to protect him, his attempts meet an icy response. After Kamui makes his choice, Fuma makes a major FaceHeelTurn and goes to Kanoe in order to take his place amongst the Dragons of Earth.

* FaceHeelTurn: As expected upon Kamui's choice to side with the Seven Seals.

* BadassBureaucrat: Works in the public service, uses water and his WeaponOfChoice.

* WhipItGood: His WeaponOfChoice is a powered combination of sai dagger and whip, which is also his main power in the film.

* IllGirl: Has a ''severe'' heart condition, thus she sometimes has seizures and fainting spells.

* IllGirl: Kazuki Tonjou, his original persona, was a very sickly little girl who was also [[DaddysGirl very attached to her scientist father]]. Since she was destined to become a Dragon of Earth [[PosthumousCharacter but died of illness before her time]], when Nataku was created as Kazuki's clone by her MadScientist grandpa, Dr. Tojou told him about Kazuki's truncated destiny as a Dragon of the Earth and sent him off to Kanoe and Co. so he could fulfill it in her place.

* BlessedWithSuck: She is a powerful dreamseer, but [[IllGirl her body simply can't keep up]] [[SuperpowerRussianRoulette with such tremendous powers.]]

* AbsoluteCleavage: Some of her attires.

* {{Meganekko}}: A dainty teenage girl wearing NerdGlasses that amplify her cuteness.

* {{Meganekko}}: Tokiko. It's [[UncannyFamilyResemblance the only visible difference between the two sisters]], aside of their ages, to the point that as soon as she removes her glasses Kamui recognizes the resemblance and sees their faces superimposed over each other.

* RapunzelHair: She has wavy brown hair that goes to her hips.

* RapunzelHair: Her hair is absurdely long, reaching several feet behind her on the floor.

* RapunzelHair: The woman's hair was at least hip-length.

* IllBoy: Was already sickly, then was in a coma for years.

Unlike the other Dragons of Heaven, he is rather reluctant to join the group and mostly goes on his own story arc that is actually the end of the one he started during ''Manga/TokyoBabylon''. Nevertheless, he significantly helped out during Kamui's massive AngstComa and succeeded in healing his soul and bringing him back, becoming a sort-of BigBrotherMentor to him from then on. His final showdown with Seishirou Sakurazuka leads to tons of HoYay and FoeYay. In battle, he uses a mix of soul magic and arcana that he channels in special paper wards (ofuda)

* AdaptationDyeJob: Has a yellow SkunkStripe in her hair in the manga and movie, although lacks it in the TV series.

%% * YaoiGuys: With Seishirou. They're one of CLAMP's "soulmate" couples.

Along with Subaru, he hails from ''Manga/TokyoBabylon'' and plays the end of his own story in ''X/1999''. A one-eyed {{Bishonen}} and BadassInANiceSuit, seldom seen without his CoolShades, he and Subaru are established YaoiGuys.

* YaoiGuys: With Subaru. We think. Its a very...tense relationship, what with Seishirou killing Subaru's sister and all. But the subtext is so strong, they might as well be anyway.

* {{Megane}}: A formal but very attractive man wearing glasses.

* SacrificialLamb and StuffedIntoTheFridge: BOTH of them which affected the lives of their children.
