* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: Makoto was the reason Mukuro began opening up herself, mainly because the latter was the first person to ever smile at her and treat her kindly as revealed in ''Danganronpa IF''. Now it's Akira's turn, as we've seen so far. [[spoiler: He helped snap Mukuro out of her funk and keep her from killing herself when she lost Makoto and her classmates. This led her to betray Junko and the Ultimate Despairs.]]

He is a genius and a jerk who was responsible for creating the system behind erasing people's memories. He was Junko's childhood friend and Ryoko's sweetheart, as seen in ''LightNovel/DanganRonpaZero''. He was killed when Ryoko regained her memories as Junko Enoshima and murdered him in a fit of rage, yet he somehow appears in this game. What is he up to this time? And what does he know for that matter?

* RapunzelHair: You cannot help but wonder why Izuru would stick with his long hair and has never tried to have a hair cut.

* YouGottaHaveBlueHair: It's his hair color for a reason.

* NotSoDifferent: Jose claims that him and Beigoma may be this because they are {{Bookworm}}s.

* NotSoDifferent: When you think about it, the Mastermind (as 'nothing'), using something horrible like forcing students to kill each other just to prove how wrong Future Foundation (as 'hope') and the Ultimate Despair (as 'despair') are, doesn't make them any better than the other two who also use extreme methods to do what they think is right.

She also revealed that, in the past, her quoting case was far worse because of how much manga she read, which led every other sentence out of her mouth being a quote from one of the mangas she read.

* VerbalTic: Doubles as a CharacterTic. She tends to use figure of speeches that uses anything connected to marine animals or the marine world in general. It seems her exposure to her job as the Ultimate Marine Biologist affected her personality a little too much...

* HairDecorations: She wears a black cat-ear hairband along with white cat hair clips.

* YouAreBetterThanYouThink: Akira tries to cheer Nagito up whenever the latter casually puts himself down by calling himself trash, or scum, or the like.

* YouAreBetterThanYouThink / YouAreNotAlone: Nodaka delivers this to Akira when the latter believes that he is nothing, a nobody, and he doesn't matter to anyone. Soon, the others join in to tell him that he matters to them.

* AmbiguouslyGay: He straight out admits he likes guys in this story, where as it's only implied in ''VisualNovel/DanganRonpa2''.

* MajorInjuryUnderreaction: [[spoiler:He isn't bothered by the fact that Akira cut off his hand prior to the game, even if the Reserve Course student doesn't remember it entirely due to [[LaserGuidedAmnesia his memories being erased]].]] However, this goes against the knowledge revealed in ''VisualNovel/DanganRonpa2'' that he cut off his own hand willingly and then replaced it with that of the dead Junko Enoshima. But, in this case, that hasn't happened yet, as underneath his oven mitt there is nothing but a stump.

* TechnoWizard: He's so skilled in programming that he was hired to make an AI named Alter Ego who appeared in ''[[VisualNovel/DanganronpaTriggerHappyHavoc Trigger Happy Havoc]]'' as well as ''VisualNovel/DanganRonpa2''. Alter Ego later reappears in this story.

Class 77-B's hope-addicted luckster from ''VisualNovel/DanganRonpa2'' is back in the Mutual Killing Game. As to why and how, only time will tell.

* LetsDuet: She forces Akira to do a duet with her when she found out that he sings karaoke alone. It's a big CallBack when you realize the song they sang was the animation opening of {{Anime/DanganRonpa}}, ''"Never Say Never"''.

He appears to be an ordinary boy who's nothing more than a slacker. He shares the same name and talent as the Soshun Murasame from ''Anime/DanganRonpa3'', but his appearance and personality are nothing like that of the other Soshun Murasame. It is later revealed while digging through the Mastermind's files that there are two Soshun Murasames, the one from the ''Anime/DanganRonpa3'' who was involved in the Student Council mutual killing game and later killed by Yasuke Matsuda, and the Soshun Murasame in this story who is still a total mystery. [[spoiler: He suffers from a case of DID, where he has a second personality who acts as the ''opposite'' version of him, known as the Ultimate Deva.]]

He is Hajime Hinata's secondary personality, born from the Hope Cultivation Project, or as it's more commonly know, the Izuru Kamukura Project. He possesses a range of talents from academic to physical. However, unlike the Izuru we come to know from ''Anime/DanganRonpa3'', this Izuru easily switches from being bored to having emotions. What is up with this Izuru?

He is a canon character from the Hope's Peak Academy Saga of the Danganronpa series, but with some changes by the fanfiction's writer "Maestro Infinite".

* NotSoStoic: Unlike the Izuru we know from ''Anime/DanganRonpa3'', this Izuru can easily switch between being bored and having emotions. Not to mention his personality is far more emotional than TheStoic Izuru we are more familiar with.

* TheBusCameBack: Her return from ''Anime/DanganRonpa3''.

** One would be when she gave the Extracurricular students her Usami key chains, just like with Class 77-B in ''VisualNovel/DanganRonpa2''. And just like before, the students don't find them pleasing and throws them away, much to Usami's pain. She complained that this was worse than last time. Fortunately for her, unlike last time, a few of them did keep the key chains (Beigoma and Mukuro).

She was killed by Monaca Towa in the Future Arc of ''Anime/DanganRonpa3'', but she left behind an AI version of herself in case of emergency. Her AI has infiltrated the Despairadise Game of the current Mastermind, and acting as an extra moderator along with Usami/Monomi.

* WalkingSpoiler: She is deeply tied into the plot of both ''VisualNovel/DanganRonpa2'' and ''Anime/DanganRonpa3''.

* {{Kuudere}}: It isn't obvious, but Beigoma [[LampshadeHanging pointed this out]] when she noticed that Sawa's heart is broken.

* {{Kuudere}}: Beigoma [[LampshadeHanging lampshaded]] it. She only began opening up thanks to Makoto, and now she's beginning to open up to Akira. Beigoma hopes Mukuro can find a new love interest who would help her open up even further.

He is our familiar programmer from Class 78. He crossdresses as a girl in order to escape bullying. Despite being killed in ''VisualNovel/DanganRonpa'', he reappears again in this story.

She is Junko Enoshima's older sister and part of the Despair Sisters. She is the hard-worker who follows Junko's every command in order to satisfy her sister. However, after falling in love with Makoto Naegi, she began to have conflicts with herself. In the end, before her true story could even begin, she was betrayed and killed by her sister during the events of [[Franchise/DanganRonpa Trigger Happy Havoc]] when she was killed while pretending to be Junko. However, she appears to be participating in this game now, and she too seems unaware of how different things are. What could this all mean?

Alter Ego is an artificial intelligence that was created by Chihiro Fujisaki during Franchise/DanganRonpa. They are a member of Future Foundation and the one who looks after the Neo Wolrd Program. In a sense, they are Usami's and Chiaki Nanami (AI)'s sibling. [[spoiler:They are helping Akira and Izuru in deciphering the encryption on the files about the contestants in the current Mutual Killing Game]].

The Ultimate Deva the second personality of Soshun Murasame that only appears when Soshun is 'very' pissed. Though he acts like the opposite version of Soshun, he is actually just the manifestation of Soshun's inner thoughts and emotions. So he is still Soshun, but the side of Soshun that isn't expressed by the original.

* ChekhovsGun: His ability to spot easily overlooked details become important for finding important details and evidences for the Class Trial, ranging from a [[spoiler:picture that is out of place among a collage]] to [[spoiler:someone's [[IdiotHair ahoge]]pointing in the wrong direction from where it should be pointing (making this person an imposter)]].

* ChildhoodFriendRomance: With Nodaka.

* EveryoneHasStandards: Two cases. He may find [[ForMeItWasTuesday nothing weird with memory gaps]] as being absent within a period of time is a cliche in mystery novels (so he's more concern with the [[SkewedPriorities correct date for his records]]), but even he is finding the idea of having [[LaserGuidedAmnesia one's memories erased]] too hard to swallow. Also, while he is willing to use lies in order to get the truth, [[ThisIsUnforgivable he hates the idea of taking someone's life]].

* ForMeItWasTuesday: Real life memory gaps in real life, even for seven years, isn't weird to him since that's a cliche for mystery stories. Also, he isn't disturbed or find it awkward when he sees [[spoiler:Connie and Keiko having an intense and long French kiss]] because he has seen a 'lot' of mystery novels containing lesbian themes... Seriously, is that true?
