* TheNotLoveInterest: Lacie fulfills nearly perfectly the role of a dead love interest for Jack and he's clearly very obsessed with her, but the exact nature of his feelings remained very ambiguous since the beginning. Jack searched restlessly for her for eight years after meeting her and tried to spend as much time with her as possible once he found her, as well as repeatedly describing the unmatched peace of mind being around her gave to him. However, it became clear something unnerving was going on with their relationship when Lacie posed a minor experiment to find out if Jack intended to initiate a romantic or sexual partnership with her, and his lack of passion/disgust/''any'' reaction was so extreme Lacie became frightened of him and concluded it was impossible for him to love anyone at all. The fact that Jack was not in love with Lacie was finally confirmed in the last volume, where he [[TheReveal reveals]] (or rather, confirms) the chilling fact that he cannot love anybody, as well as expanding upon that with something [[UpToEleven even more chilling:]] that his obsession with Lacie comes from [[TheResenter absolute hatred]] rather than compassion, because [[LossOfIdentity he has long lost any sense of identity]] and [[TheSociopath his hatred for her is so strong it's the only thing that can remind him who he is and make him feel the slightest bit alive.]]

Levi impregnated Lacie before she was thrown into the darkness of the Abyss, which resulted in the birth of the Intention of the Abyss who got manipulated by Jack into giving him a Chain with the power to send the entire world into the Abyss. When Leo confronts Levi about his responsibility in the mess created by Jack, Levi expresses no guilt nor remorse because he's content as long as he's entertained, even if that entertainment involves TheEndOfTheWorldAsWeKnowIt.

* TheJailBaitWait: When Lacie was a little kid, Levi made a secret agreement with her that he would get her pregnant as part of an experiment that would give the Core of the Abyss a human host. Thankfully, they had to wait until Lacie's brother Oswald came of age and was made the new Glen Baskerville before they started their experiment. Lacie was already an adult woman by the time she was thrown into the Abyss with Levi's daughters in her womb.
