openAvoiding Edit War Anime
So under Black Clover: Others I added entries that mangalover deleted with the reason that "It's not established/confirmed that Licita is Asta's biological mother, so the Cain and Abel trope doesn't really apply for Liebe. Also editing all instances of calling her Asta's biological mother." However, it's heavily implied — a panel of Licita dropping off a large basket in front of a building is in her memory when she states "this time [she's] not letting go" to save her adopted son, she's the character's spitting image, and the vast consensus among fans is that she is, with other tropers adding related entries commenting on their relationship afterwards on the page.
openEdit war On ymmv / clone wars Western Animation
So Tempest Fury is edit warring on Star wars the clone wars ymmv page. They reverted edits back to what they wrote after a discussion page had decided that they werent correct.
openWant to avoid a possible edit war
So about four days ago, I edited the Maicchingu Machiko-sensei page description where it originally stated that the main students attended a junior high school. I edited it out and changed it to elementary school because it clearly states on Wikipedia and Myanimelist pages for said work says that the students attend an elementary school and even based on their appearance, it's easy to see that they are elementary school students and even based on the first episode, nothing about a junior high school is ever stated.
Well, a few hours ago, someone reverted the description saying that
quote They only appear young due to the art style. But the official translation states they're in a higher grade than elementary even though it isn't true according to all official sources. I've already sent him a message under speculation category stating that his information in incorrect. I would like to make sure it's okay to avoid an edit war via adding the right information back to the page.

Edited by KamonTheSkunkopenBlanked page
Characters.Channel Zero Candle Cove Main was blanked for some reason back in January, with the sole editor, Ducksrulesoon 44, leaving behind the note "delete please. I edited it prematurely". Looking at the page's history, the page seemed to be in decent shape, despite having only a single character folder at the time.
Edited by jandn2014resolved Need some advice on a certain page of a certain politician (resolved)
There's some potential edit warring on the Rodrigo Duterte page as seen here. There's also some putting tropes on the main description (e.g. Critic-Proof and Critical Dissonance which are supposed to be meant for works, not actual people) and applying several Morality Tropes which is not allowed because that's troping real-life people. I get that the description tries to be neutral as possible but there's a lot of red flags here (e.g. one of the sources linked on the main description is from a twitter post of a Duterte supporter). So, do you think it's better to have the main description clean-up and locked until his term ends in 2022 or should it be locked indefinitely like the Donald Trump page?
Edited by sayaleviathanopenThe Folder on YMMV/AOA Music
For some reason, this page has an entire folder dedicated to entries about a very big controversy regarding one member of the group accusing another of bullying her. IIRC, YMMV entries for musical artists and groups have to be about the music and content, not the artists themselves or their controversies, so it's bad form to have any entries about this controversy, let alone an entire folder.
Edited by PsychedelicateopenCreepiness on Creator Page
While doing cleanup for Adorkable, I ran into this page for Yuzuru Hanyu which I think is in huge need of cleaning up.
open About YouTuber Apology Parody
Any reason why the first part of the description of Youtuber Apology Parody is written in first person?
Edited by PlasmaPoweropenSketchy, problematic proposed trope getting hatted with practically no discussion
The proposed trope Alebrije got five hats after being launched less than 24 hours ago. The description is sketchy, the draft only has three examples and has as of now ignored adding proposed entries, and MaLady has expressed reservations about whether the trope is even valid — plus there has been minimal discussion on the accompanying thread. I mentioned all this and said I was bombing the draft to offset the five-hat advantage. Almost immediately afterwards, another hat materialized, restoring the launch advantage. I posted again there just now to complain, saying that I'm headed to this forum to express my concerns.
I have no reasonable explanation why this trope has attracted so many hats in such a short time and in its current condition and why all of a sudden it got yet another hat right after I tossed what I thought was a well-considered bomb. Is there anything that can or should be done here?
Thanks.
openSpottingTheThread misuse?
From Spotting the Thread:
- A far more minor one that the player cannot call out on In-Universe: The player character's guardian, Sojiro Sakura, claims during the earliest parts of the game that he took him in for his probation because he's being paid to do it, framing it as another way to serve as a disciplinarian to the protagonist and keep him at arms' length. If you watch the game show that airs on LeBlanc's TV on 6/2, the answer for that day states that probation officers don't get paid. This is an early tidbit notifying the player that Sojiro cares for the protagonist far more than he lets on.
My impression is Spotting the Thread must be In-Universe as it is about the in-work characters realizing this and using it to oust them. It's just Foreshadowing otherwise.

Edited by Ferot_DreadnaughtopenWiki Word for VideoGame.LostSmileAndStrangeCircus in lowercase (RESOLVED)
It reads like this: Lost Smile and Strange Circus, as a custom Wiki Word.
I've never played the games, but I stumbled upon this title while editing MonsterClown.Video Games. The game's title is written this way on its page, but the page image seems to use normal capitalization. I searched it up, and the title seems to be capitalized normally. I'd ask for a Wiki Word change myself, but I'm afraid of jumping the gun. Anyone more familiar with the work, is there any good reason for this odd capitalization? (I'm not sure if this would be good for here or Wiki Talk, but I thought it would be safe to post here.)
Edited by antenna_earsopenAre Fanservice subpages allowed? Are EXAMPLES even allowed?
I've been cleaning up Fanservice. The Nostalgia Critic, but others have brought up that Fanservice is an index now, which means it shouldn't be listed as a trope name. Yet Fanservice has over 9,000 wicks, largely still being used as a trope. So are fanservice examples allowed or should only a subtrope be used?
openSpelling and grammar
nuria-age made an agenda-based edit of the Characters.RWBY Solitas, which I've fixed. I've sent them a grammar notifier because their edits included poor spelling and grammar.
I had a look at their edit history; it goes back to 2018 but is very short, so they're not a frequent editor. Most of the issues I fixed on the RWBY page seem to be a one-off. However, I do want to flag their spelling and grammar because that seems to be a long-term problem that goes back to their earliest posts.
Edited by WyldchyldopenRestore The Casagrandes recap
I'm not surprised the recap page was deleted...because "Just a list of episode titles." I'm just even more surprised that no one made any recaps to the episode pages. Is it okay if we restore the recap page, as well as make the recap links?
openTroper making very short subpages
Spectacular Troper has been making very short Even Evil Has Standards subpages for Western Animation. EvenEvilHasStandards. The Powerpuff Girls was just made with six bullets total, EvenEvilHasStandards.Harley Quinn 2019 has only three bullets, EvenEvilHasStandards.GI Joe A Real American Hero has four bullets, and EvenEvilHasStandards.Futurama has five bullets. Some pages they split off do have sufficient examples for a subpage, but these seem far too short and could just be merged back onto the main page. Couldn't find an appropriate forum thread for the issue so I came here.
Edited by mightymewtronopenGameboys Web Original
Gameboys is in the wrong category, it's in "Web Videos" instead of "Web Video," I thought to make a change, but decided to message the creator of the page first, but haven't heard back in a couples of days. So would it be kosher for me to make to move to the correct category and cutlist the old ones?
openTrope Repair Shop? Videogame
Can someone tell me what constitutes trope misuse?
I noticed irregularities on the Stance System and took it to the repair shop. But unbeknowst to me, misuse is a very loaded term on this site and I didn't have a firm enough case.
When is it serious enough to warrant a new thread, and if it isn't that serious, should I just open a discussion tab on the trope itself, or is there some other forum thread?
opensinkholes?
Toplessness from the Back has a bunch of examples with the character's name potholed to the actress who portrays them. This strikes me as irrelevant, but before I go on a cleaning spree, I want to see what people think.
So, to make a long story short, Ryan Haywood of Achievement Hunter and Rooster Teeth has been fired for inappropriate conduct, and the company are deleting every video he's ever appeared in. I know we aren't allowed to trope works that aren't available to the public, like private roleplays and stuff like that. Does that rule apply to works that used to be available but aren't any more?
